I use an Ubuntu Server 24.04.2 LTS (GNU/Linux 6.8.0-59-generic x86_64) until 6.8.0-57-generic my tbs-dvb dual with saa716x_tvb_dvb worked fine and was configured since 5.x so over serverel years. What is the reason to drop the driver from the new Kernel. Am I the only one who still uses a pciE dvb-card Multimedia controller: Philips Semiconductors SAA7160 (rev 03)?

I tried for 6 days now to fix the driver and the modules but with no results. There is no working driver nor dkms for Kernel 6.8.0-59-generic.

Could the maintainers of the Kernel consider to add the saa716x driver again in the Kernel drivers? I would really appreciate this.
