I've been using it since version 4 (still MS-DOS). It's not always very stable but it has some features you won't find anywhere else.
I loved AskSam and did some amazing things with it in the 1990s. In 2022 I get a new gig, wanted to use AskSam and found it was no longer supported. Is it back, by some chance? If not, what has replaced it? (Don't tell me MyInfo. I tried that and it was a disaster. It ate its intermediate data files, making checkpointing and debugging impossible. ARRRRRGH!)
I continue to use askSam Pro 7.0.2.147 as 32-bit on Win 10 64-bit PCs. I never want to be without this magnificent application. I use it to archive tens of thousands of e-mails, handle contacts data and related free-form notes. It turns imported documents such as legislation and regulations into usefully searchable data. Asksam is a rare gem and it's a tragedy that it's ongoing development became non-viable in 2009.
Scott McEwan, I too was sad to see Asksam go --I have used it since 1994 and it became my warehouse for ideas, writing, email etc. By the way - I have begun using an app called CRAFT - and found that it's functionality in many ways can do what I was doing on Asksam and am so happy for it.
Hi Scott, I saw your comment about askSam 7.0 32bit. I used it for years until it was discontinued. I want to find a copy on the web without success. Do you know where I can procure a copy? Thank you, Jay
