A Landmark Exhibition of an Abstract Expressionist Icon

Through September 20, 2026

Immerse yourself in Willem de Kooning Drawing, the Art Institute’s first exhibition in more than 50 years devoted to the celebrated Abstract Expressionist, and discover an artist whose drawing practice redefined the possibilities of modern and contemporary art.

Tickets to this show are $7 in addition to general admission. Members never need tickets and enjoy a member-only viewing hour, 10–11 a.m., every day we’re open!
