The morning commute, the chaos of London, an intern’s struggle captured in an infinite loop, endless details, a perfect union across different dimensions.
Coffee Run is the culmination of a studio Sparks collaboration across 2D and 3D animation, celebrating the versatility of Art&Graft’s creative team.
Inspired by the hectic morning commute through Brick Lane to Art&Graft’s old studio space, Coffee Run follows an intern* on a high intensity journey trying to navigate the streets of London with a full set of drinks.
Our 2D animators developed a detailed suite of characters that will feel familiar to morning commuters – from the jogger trying to weave in and out of the crowds, to the angry taxi driver careering down the road. These were developed in tandem with a 3D environment, in a collaborative process which made sure the final scene worked as a whole.
The short is littered with easter eggs including Art&Graft iconography, bespoke shop names and even a building inspired by our current studio.

Star Boy is the unsettling result of a team's Unreal experiments.
Eight scenes, canteens to carparks, snowscapes to dreamscapes, forest floors to mountain tours. One Star Boy. An Unreal team effort, a suite of new settings and features to master, new pipelines to perfect.
An expression of the creative call that drives us forward. A call to move, explore and discover.
An expression of the creative call that drives us forward. A call to move, explore and discover. To the strength of the team and co-creation. Finding the answers together, the unknowable void, the self-doubt and the nirvana — a glimpse into a journey of discovery that never ends.
An ecological exploration in coral and polythene.
A scan of coral, a plastic takeover, countless failed simulations, billions of tons of plastic, five oceans, one planet.
Adding character to the mobile network's first TV campaign.
An adventure into animated advertising, a phone network with an outrageously good deal, an internal workshop character who inspired an unimpressed shop keeper, two stories, two films, two ridiculous narratives, lipsyncing to vo, performance and timing, 2D sketches to 3D build, a killer tagline.
