The Art&Graft studio continues to embody its historical creative legacy, serving as a foundry for co-creation in 2024.
After a flying start to the year, we take a moment to reflect on our current in-house opportunities and the roots being laid in the local area by the studio team.
Something exciting has been in the works since we moved to our new home on Loman Street and we’re very happy to announce the launch of our event series: In The Making.
As a studio, we wanted to create a space for creative exchange, conversation and exploration and we’re happy to launch the first event, honing in on the theme: Loose Threads — Exploring Texture.
We’ll be welcoming Stephy Fung & Effie Pappa to the studio to kick off the series, discussing their digital fashion art & animation direction respectively.
In The Making is a free event series, open to all. If you would like to register your interest in attending the next one, please sign up here.
As of the start of the month, the Art&Graft Internship Programme 2024 officially opened. The internship will run for two sessions, over a three month period during the summer and the autumn.
The studio has joined forces with London College of Communication for their Mentoring Scheme.
Art&Graft resident creatives: Tom, Jen, Felix and Freddie have all volunteered to mentor students on the MA Animation & 3D Animation courses.
The scheme aims to alleviate anxiety about the workplace, offer CV advice and to provide a networking opportunity for like minded creatives.
The studio also continues its active role as a founding partner to Creative Lives in Progress.
The platform promotes inclusivity in the creative industry and highlights entry-level opportunities for emerging creative talent.
Earlier this year also saw Art&Graft officially welcome our first Work Experience student, partnering with the local Ark Walworth Academy to introduce a GCSE pupil to studio life, observing both the production and design aspects of our studio.
By opening up our studio to local Secondary education students, we hope to increase awareness about the array of creative career pathways and encourage school leavers to engage with their creative passions and consider opportunities for a career in the creative industries.
