what i should have done today:
- english homework
- german homework
- intercultural projects report
- american literature reading
- 2 translations

what i did do today:
- slept
- spent 4 hours calling different newspapers to confirm they got a press release (it has to do with one of the events which you will read about a bit further down) it wasn't even my job, but i was asked to do it and since i didn't have anything else to do *coughyeahrightcough* then i said yes.. i am expecting something back for it actually. lol.
- went to school for an emergency meeting
- slept some more

oh yeah and i'm going to helsinki via stockholm tomorrow for 3 days which means i will lose approximately 72 hours of good productive time.

life is really amazing, because my home computer died *again* and it got taken away *again* and so i don't have photoshop *again*. luckily i have my laptop *pets*.
also, my dog managed to chew up my mobile so that's being repaired. i might get it back tomorrow, let's hope so!

the only good thing is that it has been snowing on and off for two days now and it literally looks like someone is throwing down pieces of white paper. so pretty.

what you don't know is that i am currently involved in the production of two.. well.. things. one is sort of a festival, quite huge and meant for students. yesterday we chose the bands that are going to perform there. some good ones were left out, because only 7 or 8 get to perform even though 34 applied. i will post some music for you guy as well as soon as i get all the songs.
the other thing that i *have* to be a part of is 10 times smaller (and i don't mean it figuratively!) but it is similar. music and literature, poems and instrumental pieces, dancing and everything in between. it's kind of cool actually, because i am one of the two who organizes the performers *wink*

in addition to that i went to work for our school newspaper and now the editor in chief is leaving and she wants me to take over. i seriously didn't expect that after only being there for about 6 months. creepy. it is cool because it gives me a tremendous amount of experience but at the same time i have no idea what i'm doing..

in much more cooler news- franz ferdinand is coming to estonia. if i miss it, i will shoot myself. *reminds herself to download some songs in order to brush up on my franz knowledge*
and the backstreet boys are coming as well.. now, i don't know. i actually would really like to see them with my own eyes, because i do believe it's a once in a lifetime opportunity BUT is it worth it?? what do you think..?

..ages ago but since this is the first day of 2008 i thought i'd finally 'fill them out'.

Coldplay: one of the best britpop bands alive. they really have the best melodies and even though there are (arguably) better bands, they still make beautiful music.
Ewan mcgregor: who DOESN'T like him?? like.. for real.. ok i first saw him in Moulin Rouge and he looked so cute. since then i've seen most of his films (admittedly, he doesn't look too cute in some of them) but he is talented in more ways than one and that rocks.

what do you think is the best way to 'display' banners? (i.e. from icontests etc.).
i mean right now i have a post that i haven't updated in ages and it has icons and links to the banners etc, but i think that's a crappy way. and i don't want to make separate posts like every other month or something.. so really, it's a stupid question, but do you have any ideas?

and btw, i LOVE the internet, don't you?
i've seen all the latest episodes of heroes, supernatural, reaper, gossip girl, i'm in the middle of downloading pushing daisies, moonlight & chuck- life can't get any better than that, can it??

windows vista is evil. the end.
actually, the only things i like are the tab option (no more worries with separate 10 000 windows) and the tiny preview of the window you get when you mouseover the tabs at the bottom. but that's it..

also, who here reads fanfiction? i personally am not a big fan of it, i prefer the real stuff, lol, but today i don't even know why i read a piece of supernatural fanfiction and OH MY GOD.. where do people come up with these storylines?? i mean i understand that this particular fandom has probably the most slash/incest (or should i say wincest..) fanfiction, but still!! reading just made me actually picture that and the creepiest part is that i actually COULD picture something like that. the side-effect however being that now my mind has been contaminated with a lot of inappropriate images. for life..
but basically i'm glad that there are people with such active (and dirty) imagination so the rest of us can simply sit back and laugh like there's no tomorrow..

have you noticed that i seem to rant a lot lately? i wonder why that is..

oooh, i accidentally stumbled upon the 'fluorescent adolescent' single in a local music store. of course, i had to buy it. and i bought jimmy eat world- in the middle as well, even though it's pretty much ancient, but i love that song and the single was cheap.

oh and there's one more thing i wanted to tell you or just.. well.. post..

melanhoolia is looking for some friends on LJ.
she far to shy and doesn't really know how to find any.
she's 18, she likes titanic, billy talent, finnish guys and swimming in the dark.

- is anyone here a supernatural fan? because i think i'm becoming one. ok, maybe not a die-hard fan like OMGDEANANDSAMARESOOOOOOOCUTEANDTHEYSHOULDJUSTKISSALREADY!!!ONE!! but i really like the idea of that show. it's like mulder and scully for todays youth =)

oh, btw, i had a dream a few days back, where i was ACTUALLY in a doctor who episode! and it was all so real. the doctor was having a face/off with the master who turned some woman into a chicken and made another one hear through walls. and both rose nd martha were there. and the TARDIS of course. it was so surreal and the most real thing at the same time. and possibly the best dream i've ever had..

- ooh, last few weeks have been busy. can you believe i haven't updated in 4 weeks?? really. then again, it's typical, isn't it..
anyway. i am planning on catching up with all your entries, i swear! so jann_ness, your MEGAlong travel posts- i promise to read them all through, whitestroke- i've missed a couple of your recent posts and i have failed to answer your previous comments as well, i am going to do it!! and innocencex3, i will read your posts as well, because i think i've missed 1 or 2. and everyone else too, don't worry! (which i doubt you will btw..)

- so, what have i been doing? well.. not much. it's been busy yet boring, since i've had to run around all day. last week we went on a 'class trip' to finland and sweden. that is one trip i'll remember as long as i live, because i have never had that much bad luck and stuff happen to me in three days.
well, it didn't all happen to me, it was just a weird trip all and all.
i won't bother you with the little details, but the 'biggest' flop of all time was that I MISSED THE SHIP BACK TO ESTONIA. seriously. me and this girl i was hanging out with were five minutes late. i just literally couldn't believe it really happened.
but what's done is done so we bought new tickets and waited for 5 hours for the next ship.
and that is not all my friends. as it turned out, her passport had expired. so she had to explain it to the coastguard and literally act like a 'dumb blond' to get pass. luckily it worked. yay!
but i myself have never had stuff like this happen to me, because i'm usually the sane and responsible one. i still don't know what happened..

- in other news, i'm graduating tomorrow. well, actually it's today already, since it's 1am. i think i have to give a speech. i haven't written it yet. i want it to be funny, but it probably won't.. i already went to two graduations today. i almost cried at both. i'm afraid to think about what will happen at my own ceremony. pfff..

- i found a david tennant star doll. it doesn't look like he's got much of a taste based on the clothes given there. then again, stardoll always has weird and ugly clothes for celebrities..

- i have been planning an icon update for almost 2 or 3 weeks now. i think i can manage to sit behind a computer long enough to actually pot all the icons i've made. we'll see.

- i am in love with old yellow bricks by arctic monkeys. seriously. i think i listened to it 10 times in a row yesterday. and it's been haunting me all day today. i love it even more than i love 505, do me a favour, if you were there, beware and what if you were right the first time. i also ordered the brianstorm single just for fun (along with a cd by an estonian singer none of you have probably heard of, but it looked interesting and i just had to have it.. i seriously damaged my bank account that day.)

lol, so i went to see spiderman 3 today. it was cool and WAY too long
but the movie inspired me. i played around with ImageReady today and made the worst animated icons ever. lol. atleast they're funny (or weird..)

and they're a lot faster than they seemed at first. and they're bigger than the LJ icon size limit. i guess i still have heaps to learn.
anyway, i've got A LOOOOOOONG way to go before i can make a decent animated icon..

hehe.

so.. got fooled much?
lol, well i was properly had just this morning, when kerrsmith2306 decided to make a little joke.

well i was bored so i browsed LJ a bit and ended up on one of the coolest sites i've seen in a while. i know, it's a bit lame, but sometimes i like girlie stuff like this. anyway, the site is polyvore and there you can mix'n'match and put together outfits you'd otherwise just dream about.
after that i just checked out some clothing stores online (like forever21 and gojane) just to drool over pretty clothes and i found the cutest shoes. simple flats and they were like $12 and i was curious to see what the whole shebang would cost all together (shipping etc) and you know what- the shoes are $12, but the shipping to finland for example is $30!!!! that is three times as much. and that is no joke my friends. so after that i think i'll give up just the idea of online shopping for quite some time..

what do people with no life do? memes!!!! (and sometimes surveys and quizzes and polls..)

actually, this wednesday there was the seniors prom (thrown for us, aww..) well, i didn't go last year so i thought i'd go and ~~make a complete idiot out of myself~~ check it out! it wasn't that bad, but boy was i out of my own element or what. i am just not the high-heels-dress-up-lots-of-makeup-look-pretty type. at all. but ok, i decided to be above that. just for once. what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger, right? ;)
the saddest part was, that non of my 'real' friends with whom i hang out with bothered to come (because they're idiots *is angry*) and it was really boring. and on top of that everyone had to wear masks. haha. but no one really did, so it was cool =)
but it was an experience even though i was so uncomfortable all the night.

and i stayed at home on thursday (didn't go to school) and slept almost until 3pm. ~~what's wrong with me?~~ and i was still tired. weird. but then i finished the big painting i had to do for art class as a 'final exam' or whatever. i drew a part of the keane- under the iron sea cover art and it turned out quite nifty, even though i wasn't that satisfied with it at first.
