Jumping Car Album - Tent Discussion (Full Translation) - Part 2

Album Recording Process
Keito (reading question): What is the toughest point during the album recording process?
Yamada: Let’s start with Keito.
Keito: Yama-chan and I have a duet, which is a ballad, and it was the first time I had to harmonise in the song.
Yabu: Oh, so Keito..
Yamada: He harmonized perfectly.
Yabu: Keito harmonized?
Keito: Yeap I did. The higher pitch.
Yuya: Seriously?!
Yamada: It was a perfect harmony.
Keito: It was my first time harmonizing.
Yamada: We talked a lot on what type of song do we want to present to our listeners, so he suggested that I focused on the song, so he’ll harmonise. It was something new, a new idea.
Keito: Yea it was new.
Yamada: So that was how the song ended up, so we hope you listen to it.
Keito: Hope you all listen to it.

Yuto: Oh yes, Hikaru did the bass for the guitar song?
Hikaru: Ah, yes! In the unit song, Union, with Yabu and Dai-chan.
Yabu: For many years, we have been using octet as a baseline (this line I’m not 100% sure of the accuracy in translation).
Daiki: Yes, we were wondering if doing it this way is good.
Yabu: But I don’t know anything about bass, so when I was asked which hit would sound cool, I just said everything is cool!
Hikaru: When you listen to it on the headphones, you can hear the bass in the background right? Bass is pretty obvious?? in a song, so when you are listening you don’t want to be interrupted.
Yabu: But everything sounds cool to me, so I just kept saying cool.
Hikaru: (He mentioned something about the song My World but I don’t understand what the adjective was, so yeah).

Chinen: Daiki was pretty cool. When we were going out for a meal, we invited him and he said ‘Sorry, I can’t today because I feel really inspired for lyrics’.
Daiki: Nononono. We were in the midst of preparing for the song, Union, and somehow the deadline is nearing. At that time, it was around Keito’s birthday, so Keito, Takaki, Chinen, Yabu and Yamada went out for a meal and called me along. But my lyrics deadline is approaching and so I answered: I feel like good lyrics are coming today, so I just can’t join today. However, I didn’t write anything that day.

Hikaru: For us when we are writing the lyrics, we decided on the theme and that both verses A & B will be rap portions. Yabu is the only one who will be singing the chorus. So we thought we should write our own rap portions and that applied to the singing part as well. So we were wondering what the theme will be and came up with the theme of Union. So before completion, we don’t even know what the lyrics of the song is.
Yabu: We split it into parts.
Daiki: And made sure it is within the theme.
Yabu: Each of us thought of our own things, and the result is a union of our worlds.
Daiki: Hikaru is really fast with his lyrics.
Hikaru: I took 3 days.
Daiki: Both Yabu and I were under immense pressure. Everyday he’ll ask us whether we are done.

Yabu: Should we move on?
*They then asked whoever who hasn’t threw to raise their hands, and decided on Yamada next.

Members Introduction
Yamada: For the first time, there is a members’ introduction song, so in accordance, introduce a side of the members that only HSJ knows about. Everyone needs to introduce the member to the right.
Yamada: Let’s start with Keito. Something about Hikaru-kun that only Keito knows about. Wait, if it’s something only Keito knows about when it comes to Hikaru, I don’t think there is anything. Let’s make it something that only JUMP knows about but the fans doesn’t.

Keito about Hikaru
Keito: He decides by himself that he should act like my elder brother.
Yuto: Everyone including the staff went ‘Are you serious?!’
Hikaru: You mean an elder brother sort of impression?
Keito: Yes. Similar to what is common to the O blood type. (In Japan, they assign certain personality traits to the blood types. You can google if you wanna find out more.)
Yabu: Hikaru, do you treat him like a younger brother?
Hikaru: I don’t think I ever have.
Keito: But I get the elder brother impression. He is really troublesome at times. He is really kind when we are together.
Yamada: Hikaru-kun should be feeling disgusted right now. (jokingly)

Hikaru about Chinen
Hikaru: Chinen, huh? Even though he has some ideas on how to perform and such, surprisingly, he also has some very interesting and fun ideas. His mind works really fast. I wonder if the fans actually know about this.
Chinen: Yes, they know about that.
Hikaru: Oh they do?
Hikaru: So something that the fans don’t know about Chinen. Personally, I think that the timing that we get tired are quite similar. For example, we have work all day long, so there’ll be times when we get tired. Like we get tired, then get active again and so on. But when I go like.. “Ah.. I’m tired” then I look at Chinen, similarly Chinen will go “Ah.. my back hurts..” It’s like our body fitness conditions are similar.
Yamada: That’s really unexpected.

Chinen about Yuya
Chinen: What should I say? Well, Yuya is really different from what you see of his image.
Yamada: Originally, he has a cool image, like an O-blood type image, but now he doesn’t have that image anymore.. more like.. baka?
Inoo: Don’t say that.
Yuya: Thank you!
Yamada: Sorry.
Chinen: In school, Ryosuke, Keito and I always go out for lunch together right? Recently when Yuya was with us, when we reached the restaurant feeling hungry, Yuya went ‘it’s alright’.
Yamada: That was during Smart right? I really didn’t understand why.
Chinen: Everyone was so surprised. (short section here where Yamada said Chinen changed because of Yuya or vice versa – not sure which, because I’m confused with the sentence structure).
Daiki: During the Kira Kira Hikare PV, when there’s a point of the choreography towards the end that requires the members to put a hand on the shoulder of the person next to him, and Takaki is next to me. At that time, he saw clearly Takaki’s boxers. Then Takaki was like.. “Stop it! I told you to stop it already!” That was the first time I’ve seen that side of Takaki. Somehow, it feels feminine.
Daiki: Feels pitiable and frail.
Hikaru: During live performances, there are always repetitive actions. For Come On A My House, during the choreography, we have to make a certain expression and our expressions are normally the same. Every single time, Takaki has a really bright expression.
Yuto: Takaki-kun is always laughing then!
Hikaru: Seeing a who can laugh in such situations, it feels like I have seen a lot of things in my life.
Chinen: If Dai-chan did the same, I don’t think it’ll be funny.

Yuya about Yuto
Yuya: Besides what we know about Yuto, he has another side to him that he’s really really fun that I would like everyone to know about.
Hikaru: There’re a lot of examples for a side that only we know about when it comes to Yuto. Things that he does outside TV that we find really interesting.
Yamada: How do we explain this to the fans?
Hikaru: For example, in today’s PV Shooting (Kira Kira Hikare), we played “Daruma san ga Koronda” (A game where 1 player closes his eyes towards the pole, the rest has to try to touch him. When he said it’s mealtime everyone is supposed to run away from him. He is allowed to only move the amount of syllables that is in his name. So for Yuto, it’s 7 syllables: Na Ka Ji Ma Yu U To) When it comes to Yuto and he turns around to catch, he’ll catch the person the furthest away in just 7 steps.
Daiki: It’s scary but really funny. Show this side of yours more often.
Yuto: But this fun side of me, it’ll be best to keep it within JUMP than to show everyone else.

Yuto about Yabu
Yuto: When it comes to both of us, for example during dance choreographies while everyone is dancing, there are parts when we are supposed to be facing backwards and not dance. At times like these, Yabu will cross his arms and glanced at me. Once when I was picking my nose, he’ll just look away.
Yamada: What are you doing?!
Yabu: Yuto is one of the nicest persons. If Hikaru did that, I’ll get angry.
Hikaru: Your timing is bad, Yabu! While we were in a serious conversation, Yabu will make some random noises, and I’ll go ‘not now.’
Yuto: Besides that, he’ll always make small talk.
Yabu: Yes, I do. For example, I’ll go: Yo! How have you been lately? It’ll look like I’m giving you attention, but you are giving me the attention instead.
Yuto: Also, speaking of elder brothers, he has the qualities, but he’s really cute.
Hikaru: That’s because you are the eldest right?
Yabu: I guess so. But I admit that I do it sometimes.
Yuya: Inoo chan…because he has to act out a character, I feel bad for him. He can’t even join our conversations because of it.
Inoo: I’ve been thinking from the beginning!
Yabu: Because he’s deep in thought, so he can’t talk.
Chinen: Honestly, the characters portions in the dartboard are really big, if no one landed on the character role, it’ll be really weird.

Yabu about Yamada
Yabu: When he gets into the mood, he’s like an elementary school kid.
Daiki: Yea that’s right!
Yabu: How old are you today?
Yuto: What’s with that behaviour!
Daiki: He even acts like a robot.
Yamada: Stop that!
*display of robot behaviours*
Hikaru: When that happens, our reaction will be like.. *shocked expression*
Hikaru: Once, during a lesson, Yamada was standing at the front. He turned twice (then action of kicking and hand gesture). I was like thinking “Eh what is he doing? Is he a kid?”
Daiki: He will suddenly demonstrate childlike behaviours.
Hikaru: What is with that?
Daiki: At what point of time do you become like that?
Yabu: When do you normally turn on the switch?
Yamada: Er…
Yuto: You do that a lot while dancing. Like during dance choreographies.
Daiki: Can you show it to us now?
Yamada: No way. That’s impossible!
Someone: Do it do it!
Daiki: Even becoming a robot is good.
Yabu: You don’t think about it right?
Yamada: Nope!
Chinen: Just do something like that!
Yamada: It’s impossible to do it now!
Daiki: We just want to introduce this side of you!
Yamada: But the switch is on right now!
*Yamada displaying some robotlike behaviours
Daiki: Here it comes!
Yabu: I seriously think the fans didn’t know to what extent you get.
Daiki: He don’t show it on the stage/during performances.
Yamada: When I’m on the stage, if I could I always try to show a ‘prince-like’ character. It feels like I cannot show my real self. Just imagine during MC, I go *shows behaviour. It’ll be weird right?
Members: Will seem like an idiot (baka).
Yamada: Yeah I’ll look like an idiot right?
Inoo & Yabu: You can just show that.
Yamada: Eh?
Yabu: Just go all out!
Yamada: All out? Should I really go all out?
Yabu: When that time comes, with you being so childish, I’ll just become a lot more mature.
Chinen: You can just show this character now itself.
Yabu: Just add it to the dartboard – Yamada – elementary school behavior
Yamada: I’ll throw at it then.

Yamada about Daiki
Yamada: Besides what you know of him, he has one other strong point of his.
Hikaru: Do the fans know about it?
Yamada: Do the fans know?
Daiki: You meant that right?
Yamada: No, right?
Daiki: Nope. I think everyone (JUMP) know about it.
*Keito started laughing*
Daiki: Keito knows about it! When it was noticed the first time, Keito, Yamada and Takaki were there.
Yuya: Seriously?
Yamada: One moment, I saw Daiki’s really upset look.
Daiki: I can do it now.
*Daiki tried making the expression behind the blanket, and Yamada is confirming whether it looks right.
*Daiki shows the expression but it isn’t right.
Daiki: So the level is not enough. I’ll do it again!
*Daiki showed the expression*
Daiki: How about my ears? Is it red?
Inoo: Yes.
Yamada: At times like that I really don’t know what I should do.
Yuya: Despite that, it seems like it could be really useful.
Daiki: I can only do it max 3 times a day (jokingly).
Yamada: It’s his ultimate technique.
Hikaru and Daiki bantering on whether they can use it, when to use it and such.
Yamada: Did you all not know about this?
Chinen/Hikaru/etc.: Nope!
Yamada: Right? This is really surprising.
Daiki: I almost hit my 3 times limit today already. I’ll only be able to do it again on another day.

Daiki about Inoo
Daiki: We just can’t imagine Inoo chan in his private life. I really don’t know. I’m really curious so once I asked him.
Daiki: “Who do you normally play with? What do you enjoy doing?” He answered then that he has a friend called Ryoshi.
Daiki: When he told me that, I was really surprised.
Inoo: I have a lot of different types of friends, but he…
Daiki: He’s quite old right?
Inoo: He’s middle-aged.
Yabu: You are friends with a middle-aged man?
Daiki: It was really surprising.
Yuya: Do you always go out for meals with him?
Inoo: No, I’ve never done that. But I’ve been to karaoke with him. He’s normally working so..
Daiki: He’s really different and his age is older than us as well. And Inoo chan is friends with someone like that.
*Inoo described more about his relationship with Ryoshi, like they spend their time off together and such.
Yamada: You forgot your Kindaichi character!

Inoo about Keito
Inoo (he started off with a Kindaichi tone): During meetings or when he’s talking, the first thing he’ll say is “There’s this one thing I’m thinking about.” He keeps saying that again and again. How many one things does he have? He does that without fail everytime!
Hikaru: This is really funny, and fans doesn’t even know about it.
Chinen: Everytime before saying something he always does that.
Yamada: Normally people just go straight to the topic right? For example, what do you think about this?
Yuto: You are very kind huh?
Yabu: Because going ‘hey hey hey!’ seems difficult.
Yamada: On this topic, he matured a lot. Once during the Smart live concert, he whispered to my ears, “There’s this one thing I’m thinking about.”
Keito: In the future, I’ll just say ‘I thought of something’.
Everyone: No don’t do that. Just go straight to the point.
Keito: Hai! *raises hand*
Yamada and Daiki: Yes that’s right
Keito: I get it now. I’ll do that from now on.
*Yuto throws the dart next*

Sensations
Yuto: We covered Sensations song in the album, what do you think about Sensations?
Chinen: I think they are really cheeky. I watched their DVD and they gave a very Hey! Say! JUMP feeling.
(He continued saying how they are pretty much like a junior but not really)
*Yabu throwing the dart*

Listen to our album!
Yabu: What kind of persons do you want listening to your album?
Hikaru: People who don’t know about JUMP, should listen to Jumping Car as it is easier for them to get to know JUMP. This is a new side of JUMP. There are songs that fit the JUMP image, and some don’t. So I really want people to listen to it.
Yabu: The album this time shows a lot of different genres. So I hope this album will cater to different people in various situations and backgrounds.
Daiki: We would like you to find out more about yourself by listening to the album.

Kindaichi #2
*Hikaru throws the dart*
*Dart landed on Kindaichi*
Yuto: Out of all the characters, you landed at Kindaichi as well!
Chinen: So he’s Kindaichi #2.
*Inoo and Hikaru’s bantering with Kindaichi’s tone and manner*
*Yuya throws the dart*

Bright Sides
Yuya: Tell us about the members’ bright/shining side.
Yamada: Yuya should explain what he thinks of each person.
Yuya: When we talk about ‘kira kira’ (brightness), there’s Yuto. He has a lot of hobbies right? Camera and others. When he takes pictures of us, he will display a really bright expression.
Yuto: I guess that’s because its something I like to do. For example, Hikaru and his bass. Because we are concentrating, I guess that’s where we are shining.
Hikaru: I guess that happens when we are performing live.
Everyone: I think that applies to everyone.
Yabu: At those times, the guests (basically concert goers/live performances attendees) will be shining brightly (happy).
Hikaru: That was good!

Wrap-Up
Yamada: Is this the end?
Hikaru: So should we share our final thoughts?
Yamada: I’m thankful that there is a lot of different things to do, but I think it’s about how we send across the message that we want to convey.
Yabu: It felt like there’re memories leftover from the 2015 HSJ Summer Tour, so from now it’s about how we bring forth the perception that JUMP is a very good group.
Chinen: I hope everyone shines brightly during this summer.
Daiki: There’s a lot to listen in this album, so if we can transmit the same message in our live performances, that’ll be great.
Keito: Isn’t this the first time we have a discussion like this? We should do this again because it was fun.
Yamada: We really want people to hit the other characters on the dartboard.
Yuto: No darts landed on those areas at all!
Yabu: The staff also wouldn’t have thought that the darts won’t hit those areas.
Daiki: Because there’re 9 of us right?
Yamada: Only 2 of us became Kindaichi and that was it.
Hikaru: Isn’t this a really precious album? It’s true for every album but I think it is specially more precious this time. Even the unit stages are not split 3:3:3, but 2:4:3.
Yabu: Didn’t think it would be decided by just rock, paper and scissors.
Hikaru: Anyway, it feels like good fortune is coming our way, so we would like to ride on it.
Yuya: There are a lot of new songs in this album, the situations that the listeners are in may be different from the feelings that the songs are conveying but I hope that all of you will treasure the feelings you get when listening to the album.
Yabu: We hope that people who watched the PV would buy the album and spread about the good points of the album in their schools. I have confidence that this album would be able to reach everyone.
Yuto: When we first started working the album, I didn’t know what to expect but everyone put in all the skills and abilities that we currently have so we would like to convey this to you. With this album, Jumping Car, that also has our name, JUMP, we would like everyone to get to know our new sides.
(Yuto continued talking about how this is the 4^th album, and how they have changed as time goes by).
Yamada: This is a really nice album, right? Next, Inoo-chan.
Inoo: Everyone in JUMP is different in terms of personality, so listen to this album a lot, and fall in love with us more and more!

Jumping Car Album - Tent Discussion (Full Translation) - Part 1

I received a request to do a full translation of the Jumping Car album Tent Discussion, so here goes!
This is a really long post, because that video is 1-hour long. I previously translated the portion where members were supposed to introduce other members hidden side, but I’ve updated it to include more details.
I can’t post the whole article in one post because of characters limit.

Yuya: What is with this atmosphere?
Daiki: There’s even a tent as big as this?
Yuto: I can really just sleep here. Should I just sleep?
*Caption* Bonus footage for this album is taken from inside a tent.
Yamada: It’s like a school trip.
Hikaru: It seems fun. Seems clear that this is more relaxing.
Daiki: Inoo’s half asleep.
Inoo: I am about to fall asleep. This is bad.
Yamada: In such a situation, we do not even need Daiki to explain what we need to do. Just from one glance it’s clear what is needed, with the dartboard’s presence.
*Dartboard* Kindaichi, Samurai and Baby
Daiki: Inoo, quickly read it out loud.

Inoo: Erm… We have to throw darts this time. One by one. After that, look at the dartboard, each column with its own colour will display questions which we need to answer.
*Caption just shows the rules in writing that Inoo explained*
Yabu: It’s about the album, huh?
Inoo: Yes.
Daiki: That’ll decide the question right? I see.
Inoo: I’m not too sure but seems like if you hit one of the 3 (kindaichi, samurai and baby), please act out the characters.
*Caption* If anyone lands on the 3 (kindaichi, samurai and baby), they need to speak like the characters.
Daiki: What if I land on baby?
Inoo: Act like a baby the whole time.
Yuto: For 5 minutes.
Daiki: So for 5 minutes I gotta act like a baby.
Inoo: I think you have to be a baby in every way possible.
Hikaru: That’s different from the rules!
Chinen: It’s different from what’s written there!
Inoo: For Samurai, you have got to act like a samurai in every manner.
Yabu: For example, if I need to go to the toilet, I need to act in a cute manner?
Inoo: Yeap!
Yuya: Until when?
Inoo: When? Until you get home.
*Caption* Keep in character until the end of filming.

Daiki: Should we just do it?
All: *points at Inoo* You should start.
Inoo: Seriously?
Daiki: Get up!
Hikaru made a joke here which I don’t understand.
*The dartboard suddenly turns*
Chinen: Hit right in the middle!
Inoo: I’m throwing now!
Inoo’s dart lands at Kindaichi.

Inoo needs to impersonate Kindaichi
*Inoo tries to impersonate Kindaichi*
Members were making fun of Inoo’s decision to extend the acting of character till the end of filming
Yamada: That or you can read a 30-page script.
Daiki: Or you can act out Kindaichi Kosuke (Character name).
Inoo: Kosuke? Seriously? Acting out Kindaichi the whole time? That’s tough. Fine I’ll do it (in Kindaichi’s tone).
Inoo: Is this style good?
Yuya: That’s it for you.

*Members started teaching Inoo what he needs to do to act it out* (like putting hands in pocket, talking styles)
Yuto: So who’s going next?
Daiki: Let Kindaichi decide.
*Members harassing Inoo to act like Kindaichi when he introduces the next member to throw*

Inoo (impersonating Kindaichi): The next person who will throw the dart is in one of the people here.
*sound effect from members*
Inoo: That person is… You! *points at Hikaru/Chinen*
Hikaru: Who?
Inoo: Chinen.
Chinen: That’s not possible! It can’t be me! (he’s playing along with the character that Inoo is playing. Kindaichi is a detective and whenever he points out a culprit, he normally goes ‘the culprit is one of us’).
Chinen: I’ll throw. Honestly, there’s a lot of topics regarding the album.
Chinen’s dart landed at a green column.
Chinen: Oh! I thought I landed at a dangerous area.

Why was the album titled Jumping Car?
Chinen (reading the question): What is the reason behind the title of the album, Jumping Car?
Yamada: Who was the one who first suggested Jumping Car?
*Hikaru puts up his hand.
Hikaru: Well, Jumping Car and Camping Car sound similar right? This is our 4^th album and in the past, we used to name it like No. 1, No. 2, and Smart had a 3. And now that this is the 4^th, using number 4 isn’t nice. Well, in Jumping Car, the car that I’m talking about is a 4-wheel drive. With this 4 from 4-wheel drive, put together with 9 JUMP members, it means yonku. (Explanation: This is basically a pun. 4-wheel drive in Japanese is yonku. Number 4 is yon, Number 9 is ku. When added together number 4 and 9, it becomes yonku).
Members: Oooo that’s nice.
Hikaru: Basically we would like to convey the message that we will be driving around the world of music. So that’s how I came about the title, Jumping Car.
Yabu: That’s cool. Let me give you a pillow!

Yamada: With such an explanation, Inoo is rendered speechless.
Members: Turn on your switch! (referring to Kindaichi’s switch)
Inoo: The truth is, I have always been…
Members: That’s not true!
Inoo: There are no culprits.
Yamada: The way you said it isn’t really accurate. We don’t use ‘omae’, we use ‘anta’. (different ways of saying ‘you’)
Inoo: It’s you. (anta)
Yamada: What about?
Inoo: (here he’s reiterating what he needs to do to act out the character)
Hikaru: You can create your own Kindaichi.

Yamada: We didn’t even know the meaning behind Jumping Car but now that you explained it, we understood the thoughts behind the name.
*Here Hikaru and Yamada are talking about how they will convey the jumping car message somehow through live performances.
Hikaru: Ah right. In this album, we displayed many different types and genres. So the Jumping Car message is also delivered through the many different styles/genres of music in the album.
Yabu: So you are saying it’s like a journey through music. (the actual words used by Yabu here is ‘music drive’ but he actually means journey)
Chinen: While Hikaru is explaining such an important point, there’s someone here who’s getting more and more comfortable. (points at Yuya). His posture kept changing as time goes by.
Daiki: Even though that was a really long explanation, it was really a very ‘ahh’ moment.
Yamada: One sec. I don’t even know what you are talking about here.
Members: A-ha! Moment right?
Daiki: More like.. Ah I see!

Chinen: I want to see Daiki creating a character, so its your turn to throw next.

Members’ Favourite Song in the Album
Daiki (explaining the question): What is your favourite song in the album?
Yamada: Dai-chan, you start.

Daiki: I like Puppy-Boo. It’s a type of song that JUMP has never really sang before. It’s cute but it’s a different kind of cute that we are used to.
Yamada: It’s like amongst the cuteness of the song, there is a mature feeling to it.
Yuto: We added a touch of maturity to the song, but females will still find it cute.
Yamada: It has this rolling sort of feeling. It sounds happy right?
Yuya: When I first heard the song, I wondered if this song is suitable for JUMP.
Daiki: It felt like a new challenge.
Yuya: After listening to it, I realized it sounds like something JUMP would sing.

Yamada: How about Keito?
Keito: This question is really troubling for me. Well see, I like Puppy Boo. I also like Jumping Car. But if I were to say, my favourite is Jumping Car, but there’s still Disco Jockey. Is my favourite Disco Jockey?
Hikaru: Among all the ones you like, which one in your opinion is best?
Keito: But I’ll feel really bad to the songs.
Daiki: Just answer already!
Yabu: You are such a kind person.
Hikaru: We’ll leave you for the last, so think about it first. Kindaichi first.

Inoo: Jumping Car.
Yamada: That didn’t even sound like Kindaichi. It sounded like a more serious version of Inoo-chan.
Daiki: In what way?
Inoo: The song is really amazing, and gives a happy feeling. When I heard the demo, we were in the middle of a performance, right before the stage starts. My spirits lifted when I heard the song in that situation.
Yamada: Somehow he sounds really annoying.
Daiki: It didn’t sound like Kindaichi at all!
Inoo: I really liked the song and my spirits were really lifted.

Hikaru: How about Yamada?
Yamada: I really liked Puppy Boo, like what Dai-chan said, but the song that made me really happy when I sing it is Very Very Happy. I personally really like ballads. JUMP has some ballads before this, but the song changes towards the ending, with a very happy feeling.
Yabu: It’s like everyone sing along kinda feeling. Peace.
Yamada: I think this song if performed in a live concert, it gives an image like we are all in it together. I really like the song.

Hikaru: Yabu then Yuto.
Yabu: I like Walk. The intro is the main point. It has a really calming melody. The tempo is quite complex, but the feeling I get when I sing the song is really high. It’s a really good song.

Chinen: Should I go next? For me, I like Fever. We have quite a few dance songs but Fever gives a very lively feeling. Inoo chan will go ‘Eee Yo!!’ So this keeps the tension going.
Members asked Inoo for the Kindaichi version of his part in the lyrics, and Inoo did it.
Yuya: For me, I like a unit song. The 3 of us (Yuto, Yuya, Chinen) and Kindaichi (Inoo) sang it. It’s really cute.
Inoo: Yuya really wants to do an extremely cute song.
Yuto: We made impressions of animals (mouse, cat, rabbit, and dog).
Yamada: I can imagine Yuto, Chinen and Inoo doing the impression but Yuya? I really can’t imagine it.
Yabu: Its like I can’t imagine Hikaru doing a sexy song.
Hikaru: That’s exactly what I had to portray the last time. Sexy songs are so embarrassing.

Inoo: How about Yuto?
Yuto: For me, I like Pet Love Motion but the one I like is the band song Iwamu shooter. When I first heard that I wondered if that is a band song, but it is a different type of band song from what we are used to.
Hikaru: It’s orthodox but fun as well.
Yamada: It felt like a really lively summer feeling.
Yuto: It gives a very chatty and lively atmosphere, and something we would do during summer.
Hikaru: We have never done a really summer type of song.
Yamada: We had bouken rider.
Yabu: That’s close but slightly different. It’s a new summer song.

Hikaru: For me, Dangerous. It is really special and fun for me.
Yamada: The song was really hard right?
Hikaru: In the chorus when it went wild, in the demo guide it was way better. It gives an up-and-down feeling and crazy atmosphere.

Keito: After hearing all of you it makes me even more confused.
Yamada: You like that song right?
Keito: Aiyo, boku wo michiteyuke. The arrangement is slightly different. Isn’t Boys Don’t Stop cool?
Hikaru: A machine feeling right?
Keito: Yes. But I really like a lot of the songs. There’s no particular one I like most.
Hikaru: Look at the camera!
Keito: I like all of them.

Tent Discussion - JUMPing Car Album

Q: For the first time there’s a members introduction song, so in accordance, introduce the side of the members that only HSJ knows about.

Keito about Hikaru
He decides by himself that he should be like my elder brother.

Hikaru about Chinen
Even though he has some ideas on how to perform and such, surprisingly, he also has some very interesting and fun ideas. His mind works really fast. I wonder if the fans actually know about this. (Chinen said yes, so Hikaru continued for another side that the fans do not know).

Personally, I think that the timing that we get tired are quite similar. For example, we have work all day long, so there’ll be times when we get tired. Like we get tired, then get active again and so on. But when I go like.. “Ah.. I’m tired” then I look at Chinen, similarly Chinen will go “Ah.. my back hurts..” It’s like our body fitness conditions are similar.

Chinen about Yuya
Yuya is really different from what you see of his image. (Yamada: Originally, he has a cool image, like an O-blood type image, but now he doesn’t have that image anymore.. more like.. baka?)

Chinen continued with some examples of how Yuya behaves when he joins Yamada and Keito during their mealtimes. (Can’t understand fully what they say here so I’m not translating).

Daiki relates a story from the Kira Kira Hikare PV, when there’s a point of the choreography towards the end that requires the members to put a hand on the shoulder of the person next to him, and Takaki is next to him. At that time, he saw clearly Takaki’s boxers (I think it’s boxers, but he saw something). Then Takaki was like.. “Stop it! I told you to stop it already!” That was the first time I’ve seen that side of Takaki. Somehow, it feels feminine.

Hikaru talked about their performances for “Come On A My House” and how they have a similar expression everytime they perform a certain part of the choreography but when he looked at Takaki, it’s like he has a very bright expression. (Yuto: He’s always laughing at that time).

Yuya about Yuto
Besides what we know about Yuto, he has another side to him that he’s really really fun that I would like everyone to know about.

Hikaru: For example, in today’s PV Shooting (Kira Kira Hikare), we played “Daruma san ga Koronda” (A game where 1 player closes his eyes towards the pole, the rest has to try to touch him. When he said it’s mealtime everyone is supposed to run away from him. He’ll have about 10 seconds to catch people. Just a gist of the game). When it comes to Yuto and he turns around to catch, he catch the person the furthest away in just 7 steps. Daiki: It’s scary but really funny.

Yuto about Yabu
Don’t really get what Yuto meant.

Yabu about Yamada
Yabu: When he gets into the mood, he’s like an elementary school kid.
Daiki: Yea that’s right!
Yabu: How old are you today?
Yuto: What’s with that behaviour!
Daiki: He even acts like a robot.
Yamada: Stop that!
*display of robot behaviours*
Hikaru: When that happens, our reaction will be like.. *shocked expression*
Hikaru: Once, during a lesson, Yamada was standing at the front. He turned twice (then action of kicking and hand gesture). I was like thinking “Eh what is he doing? Is he a kid?”
Daiki: He will suddenly demonstrate childlike behaviours.
Hikaru: What is with that?
Daiki: At what point of time do you become like that?
Yabu: When do you normally turn on the switch?
Yamada: Er…
Yuto: You do that a lot while dancing. Like during dance choreographies.
Daiki: Can you show it to us now?
Yamada: No way. That’s impossible!
Someone: Do it do it!
Daiki: Even becoming a robot is good.
Yabu: You don’t think about it right?
Yamada: Nope!
Chinen: Just do something like that!
Yamada: It’s impossible to do it now!
Daiki: We just want to introduce this side of you!
Yamada: But the switch is on right now!
*Yamada displaying some robotlike behaviours
Daiki: Here it comes!
Yabu: I seriously think the fans didn’t know to what extent you get.
Daiki: He don’t show it on the stage/during performances.
Yamada: When I’m on the stage, if I could I always try to show a ‘prince-like’ character. It feels like I cannot show my real self. Just imagine during MC, I go *shows behaviour. It’ll be weird right?
Members: Will seem like an idiot (baka).
Yamada: Yeah I’ll look like an idiot right?
Inoo & Yabu: You can just show that.
Yamada: Eh?
Yabu: Just go all out!
Yamada: All out? Should I really go all out?
Yabu: When that time comes, with you being so childish, I’ll just become a lot more mature.
Chinen: You can just show this character now itself.
Yabu: Just add it to the dartboard – Yamada – elementary school behaviour

Yamada about Daiki
Not really sure what Yamada said by “Tokui” or “Tokuhi” which is making the whole context lost lol. But if I’m not wrong, he meant how Daiki is not as playful as he seems.
Yamada then said once he saw Daiki’s really upset look. Daiki was like saying he could probably show it now so they tried to do it. When it the expression doesn’t seem right he said he’ll do it again. Then when he showed it again, Yamada was like saying “At times like that I really don’t know what I should do.” Daiki was like saying he can only do it max 3 times a day (jokingly).

Daiki about Inoo
We just can’t imagine Inoo chan in his private life. I really don’t know. I’m really curious so once I asked him.
Daiki: Who do you normally play with? What do you enjoy doing?
Inoo: I have a friend called Ryoshi.
Daiki: He’s quite old right?
Inoo: He’s middle-aged.
Yabu: You are friends with a middle-aged man?
Daiki: It was really surprising.

Inoo about Keito
During meetings or when he’s talking, the first thing he’ll say is “There’s this one thing I’m thinking about.” He keeps saying that again and again. How many one things does he have?

Note: I only did Yamada’s part in detail cause I was specifically asked by a friend to translate that part only but I decided to translate the whole thing. (With the exception of Yabu, since I don’t fully understand it. I may not be fully accurate though, cause my Japanese comprehension is not that good.
