About the Conference
The 2027 National Payroll Conference is heading to Vancouver, British Columbia, and the National Payroll Institute is now accepting submissions for education sessions and workshops that will inspire, inform, and empower payroll professionals and leaders from across Canada.
This in-person event will take place from June 15 to 18, 2027, at the Vancouver Convention Centre.
This premier event brings together hundreds of industry leaders, experts, and practitioners for dynamic learning, networking, and collaboration. We invite thought leaders, educators, and experienced professionals to share their insights and best practices with a diverse national audience.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking engaging, informative, and practical sessions that align with one or more of the core/behavioural competencies of the Payroll Professional Competency Framework. This framework articulates the key facets that are core to the role of the payroll professional, along with relevant behavioural competencies that round out the important aspects of the profession.
Below are some examples of relevant topic areas:
- Legislative and Compliance Topics (federal and provincial)
- AI and other current and emerging technologies
- Payroll Leadership
- Cyber security, fraud, and privacy
- Payroll for Global/Remote Workforces
- DEI and Payroll Practices
- Risk Management & Audit Readiness
- Ethics and Professional Responsibility
- Wellness, resilience, and mindfulness
- Interpersonal, career, professional development, and more!
Session Types
Workshops
Duration: 60–90 minutes
Deep-dive, hands-on learning with practical exercises.
Education Sessions
Duration: 45–60 minutes
Focused presentations, panel discussions, or case studies.
Submission Guidelines
Please include the following in your proposal:
- Session Title
- Abstract (100 words maximum)
- Key Learning Objectives (3–5 bullets)
- Target Audience (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)
- Presenter Bio(s) (Max 150 words each)
- Preferred Format (Workshop or Education Session)
- Language of Delivery (English and/or French)
