It's not a word Shere hears very often or even thinks about all that much, but it is something she has to work at every day. Normal. She has her nice, normal job, her nice, normal condo, her nice, normal friends. Sort of.

So there's only one friend and the condo is full of cats. And the job? Well. She supposes it's not all that normal to the average person, but it's a far cry from what she does at night. And that's what matters. Supposedly.

Sometimes, she wishes normal wasn't something she had to deal with. There are plenty of people like her; why should they have to keep their real selves a secret and do their best to fit into society? Why can't society just accept them for who they are? Why does she ask herself such stupid questions?

So the girl with the ancient Egyptian name continues to half live a normal life. And there's nothing she hates more.

Emuishere Kyle loves Gotham Cathedral. It has nothing to do with the religious aspect of it, as she’s never been one to subscribe to Christian beliefs. But the building itself is beautiful and despite it not being overly tall, the roof offers a spectacular view of the city. Especially at night.

This is where Shere engages in one of her favourite hobbies: People watching. The dark isn’t an obstacle for her, heightened senses affording her the ability to see and hear things no average person would. Not that she’s competition for anyone with the word “super” in their codename, but it’s something. And people are fascinating little creatures.

Occasionally, the people she watches aren’t down on the street, milling about the square and Cathedral itself, but others like her. Well, not like her like her; other roof dwellers. Some she acknowledges, those who aren’t going to give her chase (unless she’s in the mood for one), the ones she’s grouped in with. The Bad Guys. Mostly, however, she remains silent, simply watching carefully as they swing and leap from building to building.

A good number of them use gadgets to help them along, others are simply gifted physically, to varying degrees. Shere should feel kindred to them, as she implements both methods herself. She doesn’t, of course. If anything, it almost makes her feel even more out of place. It reminds her that despite her gifts and deific advantages, she still has limits.

And Shere hates being limited.

Sex appeal is part of the job. Manipulation and distraction are tools of the trade and you do it any which way you can. It's never bothered Shere, nor does it bother her that this is exactly what her mother had to do, too. “Use what you've got to get what you want” was a motto Selina lived and breathed and like everything else, Shere was a quick study.

Sure enough they both look the part – tall, lean and athletic with hypnotic eyes and an almost innate ability to work their curves with a minimum of effort. And somehow, despite all the hits they've taken over the years, their faces remain picture perfect. They're women other women want to look like (whether they admit it or not) and men want to have on their arm. And in their beds.

Shere considers it a natural blessing of sorts, one she's been using to her advantage since she was thirteen and learned she could bum free cigarettes from the older boys out back of school with just a slight curve of her mouth and batting her pretty eyes. Certainly the Higher Powers saw fit to create them this way and well, she's about to complain.

It's just the outside, after all. Beauty is only skin deep and when you get right down to it, the truly beautiful people wouldn't even dream of doing the things she does. It takes an ugly person to live this life and Shere wouldn't have it any other way.
