AppLocker für Mac

After 20 plus years on a Mac, this is without question, the worst app I have ever had the unfortunate experience of using. I caution you, do NOT install this garbage on your Mac.

I downloaded app locker before I took my Mac in for service. I tried the free version but every time I tried to add an app a pop up asked me to upgrade and did not add the app. So I sprang for the $10 upgrade and added my apps and created a password. I tried to download their cancel button to allow you to back out of an app locker protected app, but I never could get the full zip file, just a useless text file. When I took my Mac in, they turned it on and one of the locked apps opened automatically. We tried the app locker escape comma to no avail. Then I tried my password and nothing happened except a message asking me to upgrade, which I already had done. They were forced to wipe my Mac and I will have to restore from backup. Moral: don’t download or buy this program as it is worse than a virus!!!

dont use it. it has screwed up my mail program and wont allow me to open it even through I am using the password i set. now I cant delete the program either

Come across a locked app? Just change the Bundle ID in the app's Info.plist, remove the quarantine XA, if it's still present, and the app will launch. Meh. Granted, this might not work with Apple's own applications like Mail, Messages etc., because you'll need the admin password to modify nested code, and afterwards they might not launch, because you modified it. But with most other apps it will work just fine. So this app is probably useless, unless you want to protect your stuff against people you *know* have no clue about the inner workings of macOS.

The free version is essentially a demo. You can only lock one app. More requires purchase.
