Life at a Lighthouse: At Life at a Lighthouse camp students will get to learn about what life was like as a lighthouse keeper and assistant keeper! We will make recipes that lighthouse keepers would have made, discover how they and their families entertained themselves, and learn all about the ins and outs of water rescues. We'll also investigate how and why we have this knowledge by looking at some historical documents and learning how we assess a site using archeological investigative techniques. Ages 11-14 and camp capacity is 12 students with a minimum of 6.

Cost to attend Camp: DCMM is offering a three-tiered, voluntary camp pricing structure. DCMM’s goal is to accommodate all financial situations to make camp more accessible. The pricing tier you choose is confidential. The price you pay will not influence the quality of the camp experience that your child will receive.
Tier A is the actual cost of operating this camp at the Door County Maritime Museum, including long-term wear and tear on the ROV building materials, and those ROV parts that require frequent replacing. If you are able to pay this rate, please do so. Your support allows us to continue offering STEM programming!
Tier B is a partially subsidized rate, but more closely represents the basic costs of hosting camp. This includes a few non-reusable program supplies, staff, snacks, and limited maintenance expenses.
Tier C is subsidized to the greatest possible extent. The generous support of the Sarah Shinn Marshall Fund of the Wisconsin PEO Help Fund, the Rotary International District 6220 Program Grant, and the Sturgeon Bay Breakfast Rotary Club as well as Door County Maritime Museum and Lighthouse Preservation Society, Inc. donors allows us to provide for families whose children would not otherwise be able to attend camp.
DCMM is committed to avoiding costs as a barrier to participation in Maritime Museum educational programming. If Tiers A-C are outside of your family’s budget, please contact Education Programs Manager, Andrea Stromeyer at astromeyer@dcmm.org to discuss options.
