10 more icons! Small post, but it's a 10 variations so I wanted to keep it on its own~ So. Gorgeous Evanna. I love this photoshoot she did, and got inspired to use it for a 10 variations for hogwartsicons. So here we have it! Oh, I guess some of the categories aren't as common?

Unusual crop: no half-face, no eyes and above
Nature: nature must be the focal, whether from the image itself, or texture etc. I over-used the trees from the base image, as a texture themselves.
Hair: I thought this was a really weird category, but I think her hairstyle actually works really well for this - pretty much just hair in the icon/hair as the focal.

Believe it or not, I have never actually made rainbow-colored icons like this before, where the goal is to make the icons predominantly one color, and arrange them in rainbow-order. It was a challenge for the hogwartsishome sub-community sortedchallenge, and I had so much fun doing it that I decided to make a larger set! The top 5 are what I originally submitted, with the other 19 being created from the inspiration of doing my first rainbow set of icons. Enjoy! ♥

First, hi! It's been foreveeeeeer! So, as implied by the beginning of the post, this batch of icons was made for theiconquest. Super excited, it is so much fun already! This batch has taken me like 2 weeks to make - but I blame a lot of that on cap-searching, since I used 25 different subjects. I would really REALLY love feedback on this batch, because I tried to intentionally do things a bit differently than normal, i.e. blocking. I NEVER do that! I intentionally tried the most for Wizard, because I feel my icons probably normally fall mostly under Hero & Rogue. If anyone is curious (who doesn't know already by seeing tons of other IQ posts ;D), the classes above each icon are for the following:

I originally wanted to do more AHS icons, but I got pretty bored working with only those caps. That's why I never make huge batches; I just get bored of my selected subject XD I really love this show, so I will probably make more icons from it. I know some of these icons are a bit weird, being all bright & shiny when it's a 'dark' show, but I wanted to play with new textures that I had made as well as downloaded. I also really don't like some of them, but included them anyway since not everyone has the same tastes. Thanks & some credit to erzsebet at songburst for a tutorial on the solid color-bg icons; I followed it but tried to change it up a bit and make it my own too. I got a lot of really positive feedback [thank you so much for all the kind compliments! ♥] on my first texture set, so I wanted to make another one to share with my watchers. Hi!

I am slowly coming back to the internet [took a pretty long hiatus from the internet in general due to some RL stress and the holidays on top of it]. I say slowly because I'm sick and am not gonna be throwing myself into things too much yet. Not that I've ever been terribly active with my graphics comm >.> But! I want to change that ^__^

I came across an amazing texture tutorial by my friend Liz [erzsebet at songburst] and decided I wanted to try my hand at some textures! I had tried one other time and gave it up quickly, but her tutorial was very helpful. Now, I'm not super amazed at my results, I honestly don't think many of them are that great, and I think they're gonna be kinda hard to use [although to be fair, I'm a bit out of sync~ with graphics making after having been away from it for a few months], but maybe someone can use these. Oh, and they really don't look anything like hers: I used her tips, but different imagery. Plus, she's just way better at it XD I highly recommend her graphics community ;D

I did throw together a quick icon, using some of the textures I made for this set:

Not the best thing out there, I just wanted to see if any of these were actually gonna be able to be used XD So, here is my first ever texture set of 20 icon-size textures - although some are just color variations, but the same texture. Let me know what you think, if this is something I should try to do more, that sort of thing ^^ Thanks to Liz for the wonderful tutorial on how to go about this! ♥

Hey everyone!

First, thanks to all those who have watched/joined the community! ♥

I just wanted to put up a really quick post, just to say I'm will be working on a graphics post soon. I've had a hectic couple of weeks, starting with my son's birthday. He got sick right after [wow, talk about crappy gifts ;D], and of course he pass it along to me, and I am just getting over it, and even not quite, still feeling a bit out of it. Anyway! That cut into my graphic-making time. But my second graphic post here at apalis will be up by next week, hopefully!

While I'm here, my affiliates page has been updated. Be sure to check out my affies, and of course if anyone you know is looking for affies, feel free to send them over - although of course, you've seen I'm not super active, so that's something many take into consideration ;D

It's a pretty small post. A note on that: I won't often do large posts, simply because I tend to do a lot of effects, especially with textures, on my graphics, and it takes awhile to make even one icon. I had intended on doing like, the whole episode of True Blood, or at least the first half, but it would just take me so long and I really wanted to get a post up. Just expect my posts to be on the smaller side. Some aren't really that great. It's been a pretty long time since I really 'icon'd.' Thanks to erzsebet for new textures to play with! Hey everyone!

First, thanks to all those who have watched/joined the community! ♥

I just wanted to put up a really quick post, just to say I'm working on a batch of icons & some banners. I had a kinda crazy week, which ended in being without power for about oh...16ish hours at least? It only got turned back on a few hours ago, so yeah. That was fun -.- Anyway! That paired with a wedding over the weekend as well, cut into my graphic-making time. But my first graphic post here at apalis will be up within the week!

This post is for you to spam me with photos you'd like to see me make into graphics. I may make icons, banners, maybe even layouts [although unlikely] if the images inspire me! There isn't a guarantee I'll make any graphics out of something you post; it just depends on if the image inspires me or not. It's likely I will though ;D. Photos should be at least MQ, although large, HQ is ideal. I'd prefer links if you have many images at once, or if you have a large or HQ image. Feel free to use thumbnails that link to the larger image as well - basically, keep in mind that this post is meant to 'spam' me, so any way to cut down on load time is preferable.

With that said, spam away! ♥

Wanna be affiliates? All I require is that you link back to apalis, and that the affiliate community/journal be lj graphics-related. I won't accept rating, sorting, roleplay, stamping, etc communities. Graphics communities or personal journals used for graphics are fine though.

If you want icon examples from me, I'll list some below, or go ahead and grab any of my icons from my posts, or any in my user icons that I have made [I credit myself/other makers in the comments]. Just save them to your own servers; I do not have a Pro Photobucket account XD. So, leave me a comment with your community/journal name and 3 examples here and I'll add you to the list!

Communities with multiple makers: If a community has multiple makers, I'll only be showing 1 image from each maker. Communities with 2 makers may provide 3 examples for each, but anything above that, only 1 please. To distinguish whose icons are whose, there is a hover feature: hovering over the icons will say which maker they belong to. This feature is only used for the multiple-maker communities/journals.
