twilight sparkle aurora vs ty plush comparisons

I continue to amass Twilight Sparkle plush because I definitely don't have a problem. Today I found the new set of Aurora plush and well... had to buy one for my herd. When I kept looking at the Aurora plush, I kept thinking they looked almost just like the new versions of the Ty plush.

So of course the first thing I did when I got home with them is take a lot of pictures comparing them to each other. :D

Here's the line up. Aurora on the left, Ty on the right. Old Ty is darker colored, new one has the green ribbon on. New Aurora has the 'real' hair, old has the fabric hair.

Side view.

Horse hooves. Another thing that makes the new Ty like the Aurora and unlike its original version. The new one has the MLP logo on the hoof, and they're made of a different type of material (roughly the same stuff as what's on the Aurora ones)

Old and New Ty faces. I'm mixed on this. Obviously the old one has really bad coloring to be Twilight, but I kind of like how the old pattern looks better? The new ones have the eyes really far apart, but I like her colors. I also was rather fond of the sparkly embroidery thread used on the old Ty eyes to make them look shiny. Also note the Ty twilight has a LOT of tinsel in her hair and bangs. I removed a lot of the tinsel from mine because it made her hair look gross and messy. So keep that in mind for this.

Here's the new ty compared to new aurora and old aurora. These all have a lot more in common.

This picture is to show how the wing placement on the old ty plush went. My older twilights are the unicorn versions so I can't compare wing placement, but the old Ty ones had the wings in the same spot as this fluttershy (who is the old Ty version).

Compare this to the placement of the new Ty. The new ones have what I have dubbed "butt wings" because they're very awkwardly placed. The old ones had better placement.

However, all the Aurora plush as far as I know have always had butt wings. So that's something the new Ty plush picked up... for...some reason??

And this I find interesting too. The older ty Twilight has a longer horn than the new ty and aurora (aurora in foreground). The aurora plush always had dinky little horns... but ty did not.

Overall, they're so similar it's not really worth having both versions of the new ones. The older versions were a lot different compared to these. Between the new aurora and new ty I actually like the new Ty ones better. The wings match Twilight's body better than the aurora wings do, and the Ty one has thicker hair, which makes her feel more high quality. The body is also a little thicker on the ty one so she feels more sturdy.

I don't have the entire mane 6 in both versions to compare everyone, but when I found the new Auroras today I honestly thought they were the Ty versions first, because they looked almost just like them. It took me checking their tags on each of them to see they were in fact the Aurora versions. Small things like the new colors on Pinkie Pie is present in both Ty and Aurora and Applejack having her freckles is present in both new versions. While I also noticed Fluttershy's hair in the new Ty and Aurora versions is shorter than the original Ty (and aurora had fabric hair so it's not comparable.) It's really strange how both brands changed to be almost the same. I am not sure how this managed to happen considering both were a lot more original in their first iterations.

adventures in breaking new vegas

so i've been playing fallout: new vegas again and it's a lot of fun. Yay. The only bad thing is the game runs pretty awful on ps3. The lag and all that was so bad my game could play for about 10 minutes before slowing down to unplayable levels. Unfortunately there's no way to fix it. The save files just get too big and bethesda doesn't care about the ps3.

So I switched to playing my game on PC instead. I actually have a decent computer now and can play the game on the highest settings possible. I also installed a bunch of mods to make the game cooler. One of my favorite ones stripped out the extra color filters and makes the game look more ~realistic~. I am mesmerized by how much nicer it looks.

BUT being me, I always break stuff. My favorite things to do in games is to climb on stuff that the game does not want you to climb on. I don't know why. But, while playing the game, I noticed there was a spot where it looked like I could climb onto the roof of one of the game locations (Camp McCarran). I did *not* use the console commands to shut off clipping to get up here. Kayla watched me do it on stream, it took a few tries, but I managed to scale up the side of the supply warehouse which was connected to the main airport. From there I started to explore...

From there I noticed the monorail was attached to the main terminal building. I wanted to walk on the monorail track to see how much (if any) would let me walk on it before there was no boundaries and I'd fall through it.

It didn't take long before the game slowly started to push my dude through the railing and I landed on the ground outside. This is *technically* outside of Camp McCarran, so it should be the wasteland, but, since I never actually went through the door of Camp McCarran to go into the wasteland nothing out here loaded.

This is a true wasteland. Nothing but the same brown texture for miles. I kept taking pictures because I kept expecting there to be no more floor and for my guy to fall into an empty abyss forever.

Still nothing. For reference, I pulled up my map here to see where I was according to the game. Yeah, I don't see any of that either. :D

Eventually I found this. :D Seems Legit.

I kept swimming and swimming until I eventually came to the conclusion that the water literally goes on forever. I pulled up my map again and eventually at some point during this and my character's marker was no longer on the map, and it was just pulled hard to the south. The game also appeared to keep loading blocks of water depending on where I swam. I eventually turned off clipping so I could get above the water and see if I was right.

Looks like I was. :D

I was making jokes on stream that this was my character having a weird dream.

NEXT UP.... i actually used the console to achieve this. I wanted to fill up the entire bathroom in the Novac hotel room with dinosaur toys because I thought it would be funny. I spawned 1600 of them and dropped them one by one in the room. It took a while. I could only drop 200 at a time or else the game would freeze trying to spawn them all in the environment. :D

Eventually I did it, and then I used the game console to let myself out of the hoard.

That's a lot of dinosaurs.

I spent the next 10 minutes or so flapping the door open and shut because it would flip dinosaurs all over the room and I found it hilarious.

Basically I am really easily amused and this is why literally no one but Kayla would ever enjoy watching me stream. LOL.

I still do this dumb game meme because it's fun for me to watch how i end up playing less games as each year goes on?? LIKE WHAT EVEN. oh well maybe this year will be different. or maybe this is just my new thing. it would also help if i tried to play new games instead of the same 5 titles OVER AND OVER AGAIN (but at the same time, if im having fun who cares??? IDK!!!1!) though I also tend to feel bad if i have unplayed games sitting on my shelf year and year. :x

ERRRR i didn't really replay any games this year in the same year? i don't remember. i kind of slacked off on my list because i kept forgetting about it. i usually would check my trophy logs to see if I played stuff BUT UH. i feel like i replayed infamous but i don't remember? ;_; I need to keep better track. PSN doesn't track gameplay... only trophies earned and since i've 100% them all....yeah LOL.

Most Anticipated Title:

first of all i realize in previous years i answered this with what game i wanted the most that came out that year, but that's kind of pointless??? so i'm going to say now which game i want that isn't out yet, or will be out this year (2015 as of this writing) BCUZ THAT'S WHAT ANTICIPATED MEANS? IDK.

Well I want the new Ratchet & Clank remake that ties in with the movie. ALSO THE MOVIE ITSELF????? IF THAT COUNTS??? RATCHET MOVIE /screeches
otherwise probably The Order 1886, because hot damn every time i see gameplay of that i'm like I NEED IT NOW.

and uhm

If Fallout 4 is announced they will probably hear my shrill fangrill cries from space, just sayin'.

Biggest Letdown:

Looking through the list of games I played I don't recall being disappointed with any of them in particular. Especially since some of them were replays of games I love (Ocarina, Fallout) and some of them I barely played at all (Beyond Good and Evil). I GUESS if I have to pick one I'd probably pick five nights at freddy's 2. It came out exactly when Kayla came to visit...and was released suddenly... I went into playing it blind while she watched, since we'd already seen so many LP of the first game, we thought the second one would be cool lol. It was a lot of fun still, but after seeing more of it I think it's not as good as the first one because there's too many animatronics and there's not much time to stew in fear of the jumpscares as there is for the first game. ~~plus chica doesn't get as many times to mug the camera as she did in the first game ALL MY DISAPPOINT~~

Most Surprising Game:

Again, I didn't play that many games, but I guess I can say the Lego Game, probably. I had heard they were fun, but I didn't expect to have as much fun with that game as I did. :b It was enough to platinum it anyway (it wasn't super hard and i like trophies so). It follows the story of the movie fairly well and idk, it was fun.

Favorite Game of 2014:

inFamous: First Light. AS IF I CAN PICK ANYTHUING ELSE. no but really, i wasn't a huge fan of second son (delsin im looking at you) but Fetch is an A+ character and I liked her so much better, plus neon is my favorite power from SS so getting that expanded in her own little story is amazing. ;_; I just wish it had been longer, but I love it. My ps4 died this year and ate my save file though (so much for PSN+ cloud saves derp) so that means I have an excuse to play it again and get it back to where it was before. :b

Top 5 Favorite Characters:

I don't think I became introduced to any new video game characters this year that i went nutso over. again.

i am still stuck on the same dudes from 2011 which is really funny. In fact, even as I'm playing New Vegas again I'm just like 'omg boone y r u da best ufuguuuu' the entire time and it's funny. Actually the only one missing from that list was mentioned in 2012 and is Razer from Jak X. And even all these years later most of these characters are still on my mind. Like I'm pretty sure I wrote a story relating to almost all of them (except replacing zeke with razer) in 2014. the stories themselves aren't important (because i don't post my fic, too afraid lol) but it just shows that i'm still attached to all of them? :D It's just interesting to note when I see how many years have passed and i'm still like IM GOING TO WRITE SEQUELS FOR MY 2 YEAR OLD STORIES NBD.

Game that induced the most rage:

UHHHHHH sly cooper platinum FOR SURE. Those stupid minigames that you have to farm to get the trophy made me want to throw my ps3 into the sun. Also, doesn't *technically* count since I did this in 2015, but I'm working on getting the plat in new vegas, and the stupid caravan trophy I DON'T EVEN. why do games make you play the crappiest, worst minigames to get trophies? can games not do this anymore plz.

Game I want to get back to eventually in 2015:

Sunset Overdrive (will be next after New Vegas Platinum)
Metro 2033/Metro Last Light (my brother got me this for christmas yessss, so technically not 'get back to' but a 'lets plz play this')
Probably DXHR.
inFamous, again. Though I'm still unsure if I will ever be able to play inFamous 2 again. I keep saying I want to but that game's ending just depresses the crap out of me. ~~fictional characters srs bsns~~. SO IDK. Maybe First Light.
Need to play Watch Dogs DLC. This is what I was going to play when my stupid PS4 died. So I never got a chance.

Also maybe some games off my backlog??? idk. lol would be nice but i doubt it with how i play games. i still have an unplayed killzone game which is just baffling to me considering how much i love the series BUT I'LL GET TO IT SOMEDAY. (its the vita title :x)

some kind of an update

Some things that have happened recently... uhm...

I'm moving again soon. Well, October to be exact. Everyone here is tired of dealing with the landlord's crap. She is too cheap and hires workers to fix things that aren't really fixed when they leave. They were going to leave my sink leaking more than it was when they arrived had I not intercepted them and informed them it was still pouring water out the bottom. They also "fixed" our back gate by making impossible to open unless you literally body slam it. Plus the house is old and kind of falling apart. Stuff we want to fix or replaced (our oven isn't broken, but it is literally the worst oven I've ever used in my life) the landlord is just like WELL IT ISN'T BROKEN SO DEAL WITH IT~~ so everyone is done. just done.

Not looking forward to moving (really) but it might be nice to start over again with placement of everything.

Last week was all the E3 stuff. The only thing that consistently made a presence to me was Sunset Overdrive. It's made by my favorite game developer (Insomniac Games, surely people who read this know that already?) and it just looks SO FUN. Anyone who followed my (surely obnoxious) live tweeting of all the e3 stuff probably saw me whine about how it was the game I wanted the most. But... its Xbone exclusive. I don't want an Xbone, I told myself. It's not worth buying an Xbone for ONE game, I said.

Well then on Wednesday morning, Insomniac posted about how they were doing a ~public event~ in Los Angeles showing off Sunset Overdrive, doing giving away some posters (for pre-ordering the game) and some other stuff. I was at work, and I immediately started debating. Should I go? I loved the last Insomniac event I went to, probably the most fun I've had at something in a long long time. Surely it would be similar... right?

Well, I went. AND IT WAS AMAZING. I got to play the game too! IT IS ALSO AMAZING. The mode I got to play was a multiplayer mode, but I got to play with all the weapons it has the I love the colorful art style and fast movements. There is a gun that shoots vinyl records. And another one that shoots explosive Teddy Bears. LIKE REALLY. The worst part (for me) was that the demo came without an inverted Y axis so it was a bit difficult for me to play. I'm one of those people that ALWAYS has to switch the axis. (for those who don't know, it means making the camera controls so down is up and up is down) I don't know why? It's always been that way. Even if I forget to change it when I start playing my camera angle is immediately shoved into the floor and I know why. My brain is just wired that way!! So I kept having to make an extra effort to turn the camera.

I still managed to get 3rd place in my group though. Somehow. I was also in the first group of people ~in the public~ (ie: not E3 attenders) that go to play Sunset Overdrive.

I also got a super cool signed poster...which I unfortunately am unable to share a picture of... becauuuuuuuuse as I'm typing this my cell phone just broke. For... no real reason.

WELL I guess I know what I'm doing for the rest of the afternoon.

all the twilight sparkles

So today I got a box in the mail with some more plush toys in it because i'm a responsible adult and i do what i want!!!!!

But anyway the contents of the box got me realizing I accidentally all the twilight sparkle...

o_o uhm.

This wasn't even something I was intentially trying to do. I just kept being like OH THIS ONE IS CUTE I JUST NEED IT BECAUSE REASONS!!!!!!1 and today when 4de twilight came in the mail i was like ".....is this my 6th twilight sparkle doll" ....the answer was yes, yes it is, Anto.

So I decided to do what any person would do with 6 twilight sparkle dolls.

WRITE ABOUT THEM.

First of all: Twilight isn't even my favorite pony, but somehow I have more dolls of her than any other pony. I DON'T KNOW?? A lot of her plush I find cuter than the other ponies, and out of the 3 mostly merchandised ponies (twilight, pinkie and rainbow dash) i like twilight the best. So... that helps.

I'm going to write about them in the order I got them in. :)

SO FIRST UP, 10inch Mangy old funrise sparkle~

Everyone knows these things. Or they should if they know any pony merch. This is the 10in version that was exclusive to WalMart. You can find these now in more retailers (I've seen them in Toys R Us, and Target, albeit with wings now). But its the same doll. Not much to say. Mine is a little more beat up than what you'd normally find because she was one of the first pony plush I ever got. Back when Funrise was it besides a $1938028401410248210 custom. Not much to say about her. There is a lot better twilight plush to pick from available now, definitely.

Second: 6inch Aurora

I think the Aurora ponies are REALLY cute. I'm not a fan of their intrepretation of all the ponies, but I think their take on Twilight is ADORABLE. I like their Rarity too (which I also have). I'd recommend finding one of these to pick out in person, because each one has differences which can really affect how the plush looks.

Third: Ty Spaggle

I... I don't know... This twilight is hilarious to me. the purple in her coat is off by a few shades (look how much she stands out from the others!) Her bangs are way too short which gives her a hilarious mohawk, but otherwise?? I kind of like her. I actually like that Ty used a sparkly thread in the colored parts of their eyes that makes them stand out. I actually picked up Fluttershy, Rarity and Applejack in this set recently, and they're all ADORABLE. Fluttershy is probably my favorite, followed by Applejack (who does not have super short bangs like poor twilight) But the Ty ponies actually look pretty good from the front! Which is something a lot of pony plush seem to suffer from...

I actually just got her because we got her in where I worked and I couldn't say no with my employee discount. LololOlo

Fourth: BUILD A BURR

Actually i think I got this one before the Ty sparkle but I won't change it now!!!! I really like this one too! Despite my not wanting to collect ~princess~ twilight stuff this doll is really cute. Plus I had her made at the BaB workshop in Downtown Disney when Kayla was last visiting, we both got one. :b It was fun.... it actually was also because of the "its either twilight or pinkie or rainbow .........and i like twilight more" is why I have her. :D But I really like her now that I have her. I think her nose/muzzle looks a bit off, but otherwise... cute! I don't hate the hair as much as I thought I would... but I don't see how they work well for kids that cuddle these things. D: I imagine they'd end up like ratty messes in a short amount of time...

Fifth: 10inch Aurora

I actually think this might be my favorite twilight sparkle plush I have. Mostly because of her face. Look how good she looks from the front!! She is adorable! Her bangs are a bit short, and her hair is a bit strangely sewn overall, but I LOVE LOVE her face so much. She has so much personality. And she's really soft. I think she's softer than the other Twilights.

Sixth: 4de Twilight

THIS is my 2nd favortie twilight. Aurora only wins because of the face full of personality, but this one wins evertyhing else. The hair is better, the body pattern is better. Everything else...except the face. Even from the side her eyes are kind of stretched out? It's hard to describe. Still, the 4de is a well made twilight, and everything else about this one stands above the rest, I'll definitely get Fluttershy and Rarity when those two come out in this line. :)

Ah alright, then hilariously enough, the director's cut of Deus Ex.

Biggest Letdown:
Urgh. Tie between Last of Us and Beyond: Two Souls. I think I am the only person o nthe planet that did not like the last of us. I stopped playing because the gameplay was so infuriating for me it was just not fun at all. The story and the setting and all that? AWESOME. gameplay? brb: throwing ps3 into the sun. So yeah. I quit. I felt so bad about it at first, since everyone loved it, but I realized I should be playing games for fun and not because everyone else is doing it. Because truthfully, could I have beaten it? Of course. Would I have had fun doing it? Hell no. THEN WHY PLAY IT? so i didn't.

Oh and Beyond. My my. I bought it because it had a "co-op" mode and Kayla wanted to play it a bit too. I thought it would be fun. Plus, I played the demo and thought it was cool. Unfortunately it forgot to tell you that the demo was the most fun the game had for you at all, and that they padded the game with so much garbage it didn't even need. Even my room mate who was half watching us trudge through the crap fest kept asking how long this one segment was, and what even was the point of it. We actually beat it in one night, simply because as we kept playing we kept saying "THIS HAS TO BE THE LAST CHAPTER" and there was audible groaning when it was in fact, not the last chapter.

That is the sign of a bad game.

Also, it felt even less interactive than Heavy Rain did. :/ Somehow... they did it. Also my choices meant nothing. It was like watching a DVD and saying pressing play/pause hundreds of times suddenly makes it a video game! (it doesn't)

Needless to say, I will be watching Quantic Dream a bit more closely before buying their next game, and if their next game gets awful reviews, I will bargain bin it, because I'm not giving them full retail price for another game unless its damn good. (or at least Heavy Rain good)

Most Surprising Game:
KILLZONE: SHADOW FALL. for reasons I've fangrilled about. I initially went into the game being mad and angry they changed stuff because I thought it was dumb. But the second mission was awesome, and it just got better from there. :| In fact, it was the first game I'd played this year asides from Bioshock Infinite that just made me want to play MORE MORE MORE MORE.

Favorite Game of 2013:
........DXHR Director's Cut. I'M SORRY. ITS TRUE. I JUST LOVE THIS GAME. If I can't pick the re-release. Then uh....
Into the Nexus. I LOVE ME SOME RATCHET. It was loads of fun and I just wish It had been longer. ;-; Maybe insomniac has a lovely present for us in the 2014. I sure hope so, considering I can't play one of their 2014 titles seeing as how I am xbone-less.

Top 5 Favorite Characters:
There really wasn't any new stand out characters this year for me. JUST LOTS OF JORHAN STAHL and the same old guys from dxhr we all know i like. :b

Game that induced the most rage:
Honestly out of the stuff I played this year? Probably Last of Us. lol.

Erm, and the infamous boss fight on hard AND challenge mode on Into the Nexus. The ENTIRE GAME had been easy as cake until the final boss. I spent over an hour trying to win that sack of crap. ~~and when I did, I felt like I truly deserved that platinum trophy lol~~

Game I want to get back to eventually in 2014:
Fuse. ALL THE RATCHETS. ALL OF THEM. (except maybe 1 and 2, since I just beat them). inFamous (I feel like this will happen before March because reasons), ps all stars.

AND I ALSO WANT TO PLAY STANLEY PARABLE (my comptuer can run this!!) and alan wake (still can't run this but SOMEDAY /wistful stare)

SOME NEW YEAR OR SOMETHING

so 2013 is over and im not sure how i feel about 2014 yet. I mean, good news is I get to go see Kayla in her homeland of michigans on the 6th. I am so in need of a vacation. I haven't been away for ages.

Although, I've been having a lot of pain again, and I'm worried (slightly) that its the cyst trying to ruin my fun times by becoming infected again. If it is, I'm pretty much screwed as the other doctor said he couldn't do anything for me and I needed a specialist... specifically "my specialist" but I don't have one? I don't even know where to start with that. I definitely DON'T want to go back to the same hospital that mucked everything up last time. Just. No. I dunno. I just want it to stay infection-free for all of january, and then when im less stressed out I'll start looking into surgery #2, since its essentially my only option at this point. Again.

Oh and last night I fell down the stairs of the house I was house sitting for. Like, seriously?? I'm not used to stairs at all because I don't have them in/around my house now or growing up, and I tried to go down them in the dark. BIG MISTAKE. my foot caught the edge and my ankle turned into a wet noodle and i fell. Probably have some bruises but whatever. My ankle feels weird still. It doesn't specifically hurt but it just feels really off. I can tell I tweaked it on the stairs but I guess it doesn't seem too bad then I shouldn't complain. I just feel like an idiot. e_e

Otherwise I've just been playing a lot of video games. :I been on a Ratchet and Clank kick lately. Got the platinum trophies in the first two games, need the platinum in ratchet 3 and 4 (deadlocked) and then I'll have it for every single Ratchet game, since I already have them in all the ps3 titles. :x yay.

I feel like I might play through all the games in order though. Also I'm pretty excited for the movie to come out...even though its not for a while off yet. hopefully we'll see more trailers and stuff for it this year. yay.

I'm gonna work on filling out the 2013 game review thing I've posted the past couple years, but I'll post it in a new post since this one got a bit lengthy. lol

so....what's new with me!?

I GOT A PLAYSTATION FOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUR

the only launch game i bought was Killzone: Shadow Fall. A game I wanted to play a lot but was also extremely butthurt about because I heard it took place 30 years after killzone 3. And...Killzone 3 is my favorite in the series because of .....well...... look at my icon.

KILLZONE: SHADOW FALL SPOILERS UNDER THIS DON'T READ UNLESS YOU DON'T WANT TO PLAY IT

As we might remember Killzone 3... it ended abruptly. The Helghan planet was destroyed. When it ended I literally was like "Wait...it's over??" because it was so.....wow. Then it had a teaser after the credits. SOMEONE in an escape pod being welcomed by Helghast soldiers. I WANTED TO KNOW WHO WAS IN THAT DAMN POD ~~because i hoped it was stahl~~. Of course one would assume this would be a lead in to Killzone 4.

And it was.

Except then I heard Killzone 4 was taking place 30 years into the future. -_- I was butthurt because I wanted to know who was in the damn pod, and if it WAS stahl, I thought he'd be too old to be in the next game that later on. I mean.... look at him in killzone 3: he doesn't look too great, does he?

SO LIKE about the end of chapter 5, I've got to this spot where we have this fanatical crazy Helghast terrorist dude talking to someone on a monitor.

......yeeeeeeeeeep. He's in Killzone: Shadow Fall. As what looks like the main villain again. HOLY SHITTTTTTTT. Not expecting it. At all. In fact, earlier I had been lamenting to Kayla about how Stahl wasn't in the game (as I assumed), we BOTH assumed he wouldn't be in it. And then I kept ranting about how I wanted them to say who was in that damn pod then!!!!! ITS NOT FAIR!!!!!!!! STAHL :'C :'c/etc and then.....WELL .................. im never going to doubt you again guerrilla games my bad my bad.

As soon as I realized it was Stahl I actually went BACK to the end of chapter 5 and replayed the segment to see him again. The picture on the monitor is so tiny and grainy (and he's bald now lolo) but I kept thinking it sounded like him. I WAS RIGHT. ;___;

I literally had to put down the controller and then I spewed a bunch of vague tweets about how killzone was killing me. ~~this is why, for those curious~~ Because UHM WELL. Stahl is one of my favorite characters, pretty much ever. I have a picture of him taped to the outside of my door. I just really enjoy his brand of crazy, I don't know. BUT I AM SO SO HAPPY HE IS IN THIS GAME AGINA OMG. i just want to keep playing more but i need to be an adult and finish my laundry and stuff firstb ut OMG

i had to stop playing shortly after i realized he was in the game at all, and WHO KNOWS how big his role is in this (or how he even looks now....lol considering the time passage and all the shit the Helghast have been through now) BUT I DONT EVEN CARE IM SO EXCITED TO PLAY THIS GAME. I went from complaining about how irritating the opening mission was to screaming silently to myself about Stahl being back in the span of just a few hours in one night.

SO SO SO GLAD I GOT THIS NOW. And I'm SO GLAD it stayed a surprise all this time. Being gifted with this knowledge was like the best ever. The second I heard the character actually say it was Stahl on the monitor i was just like HOLD ON. WHAAAAAAAAAAAAT

Kayla is coming to visit again next month, just happened to book the weekend that my birthday is on too, which is exciting! I've done... well... absolutely nothing for my birthday for 5 or so years (I don't actually remember) so it'll be really fun I think.

Sucky thing is she's only going to be here for a few days ahhhhh

I'm glad this news happened when it did though. I was feeling super down for a while. I won't really go into specifics, as it's not important, but pretty much as soon as she told me she bought her plane ticket it was like....poof gone. It's weird. But I'm extremely glad because ugh. UGHHH. I'm still not sure if my depressed periods are related to anything (hormonal) or just because I am a thing. I mean, I've had issues for pretty much as long as I can remember, and I used to go through random spikes of it being especially bad for a week or two, and then it would stable out... but lately? It's been very constant... until Kayla said she was visiting. :I I don't know what to make of that. I really don't.

BUT WE HAVE PLANS!!!! I'm actually super thrilled she's coming when she is because of the amusement parks here. :3 We're going to go to Knott's Halloween Haunt this year (on the day of my actual birthday, not because its my birthday specifically, but because the tickets were the least amount of money on that day vs the other days she was here. LOL) I haven't been to THAT in...gee...years. YEARS AND YEARS. Probably was the last time I went to Knott's in general. SO I AM EXCITEMENT. We're going to go dressed up as Dan and Chris too... hooray for subtle costumes!

And then today she sent me a picture of something from the Long Beach Aquarium saying she wants to go...!!! So we will likely be doing this too, as soon as I figure out how much it is. :'D ~~but we probably are going to go anyway because we already decided to bring my Dan and Chris dolls along for pictures in front of various sea creatures~~.

And....hopefully if all works out, I can hitch a free ride to Disneyland on my brother's employment there. :) GOTTA DO ALL THE THINGS AND STUFF.

i was organizing pictures in my phone the other day and noticed i took a lot of pictures of my room... and it was funny to me to see how it went from empty blank walls to dan vs taped on every single space... i resized them and now will share here...!

February 3rd

This is pretty much what my room looked like when I moved in. I mean like, right after. The frames went on the wall first because I never even put them in boxes. (i took them over to the new house last in my car lol)

February 4th

I bought some little media stands for my DVDs... then I put some random figures and stuff on top of them too. Added a couple more screen caps and the promo card things.

March 15th

Added in the segment from my favorite part in Family Cruise. Kayla printed these for me while she was visiting in March...

May 4th

Kayla printed out all those caps in the computer lab she works in because it's cheap and they have actually nice printers there. I spent like 27895 years cutting them out, and then re-did the caps in the big frame... I also started sticking my favorite ones along the wall next to my bed.

May 5th

Not too many changes with Dan stuff in this picture. I moved the promotional cards to the other side of the signed poster...

May 7th

As I started sticking the caps Kayla printed out earlier I needed more space...so I added more to the part above my bed, added some to the Dan wall, and then put the rest on a strip of tiny wall above my window.

May 23rd

Another package from Kayla...! This time with the ~special~ signed artifacts from Curtis Armstrong!! (Dan's VA) Signed DVD, signed photo crop Kayla made of Dan getting ready to bust a desk over Imposter Dan (making it 100000% more canon than the dumb people who 'ship it' for no reasons that make sense at all whatsoever ~~shhh this is like the only 'ship' people ever have that legitimately fills me with rage...~~ (also he thought it was funny so +10)) and the SIGNED DAN PRINT....which he actually wrote my name on. my existence has sort of been validated even though i wasn't there when it was signed...!

all of said things immediately found a spot on my wall.

got this lovely shadowbox in the mail. promptly put it on wall as seen above. had to move the dvd and the desk busting dan to the wall next to the magnet board.

this is how my dan wall currently looks. though there are more screen caps that have been printed that i will find a home for eventually. not 100% sure where they will go yet but there's never enough dan vs.

What's tomorrow!?!? why this of course.

Everyone who asked about coming I have added to the group we will use to chat in. I guess no one can see the group until I send a message to it though, but I will wait until 10~20 minutes before the start of the first airing before sending a message. I am still a little paranoid about bugging people. BUT IT IS THERE ALL READY...!!

The stream will be on another site, and will most likely be passworded which you will be able to get from the chat. Kayla and I don't want random joes from the stream site to wander in and be like what. SO YEAH.

Also I will be on voice chat! My voice is weird and sometimes I stutter when I get excited (chances of this happening are like 100% at some point jsyk) so I just want to ~warn you~ for that. You don't have to join voice chat if you don't want to, but you should still opt into the voice call even if you don't have a mic or you won't be able to hear me (or Kayla or anyone else who happens to be on mic) talking.

I REALLY DON"T KNOW HOW TO SKYPE but this is the things I've been told about it by ~skype veterans~. Honestly I rarely use it myself. So let's hope I don't muck it all up. :D~

I WILL BE ON THE CHAT ALL DAY but i will likely need to charge my head set between showings. It's pretty decent but it can't last 12 hours....lol. I think about 6. I use a ~~slightly squeaky~~ wireless ps3 headset that works lovely on my PC (i have tested this before. it works)

As the other entry says no one has to hang around all day or even for an entire showing. I'm going to see if I can keep the chat subtitle updated with the current episode we're playing because... i want to? Organizational purposes? Unless I forget about updating it ~~which might happen~~

Dan Vs Online Watching Party:: MORE INFO

HI ITS ME AND THIS SILLY IDEA OF MINE AGAIN NBD.

Since not many people suggested a day/time for me I tried to come up with one that I figured would work well for most people...? If it does not and you want to join in PLEASE TELL ME because I really want to do this with a lot of people (or at least just more than Kayla and I because we've seen the entire series too many times to count (not that there is any expiration on enjoyment we get from this show BUT YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN))

blah blah blah i had to cancel my previous day because no one ever thinks i want to do anything and was told i had to be somewhere else on the 7th. And then I guess the original time I picked was awful.

Later on I was looking at a page of movie times and then the idea to just run our playlist a couple times on Saturday at different times would probably work better?

If this is still an awful idea let me know...

Dan Vs Online Watching Party for fun and cool people of awesome

so i mentioned this on twitter.....yesterday??

It was a passing thought.

WHAT IF I STREAMED DAN VS FOR SOME OF YOU GUYS and we all watched it together?!

That's how it started. A passing thought... but when a couple people expressed interested I looked into making this a reality. My conclusions are: my computer cannot do this.

so then Kayla came in and saved the day!!! my co-conspirator in everything I do...!

So basically it's come down to this: We can absolutely stream Dan Vs for you.

If you are interested here is what I am curious about:

-What day are you interested in doing this?

-What chat program would you prefer to use so we can ~hang out~ while watching the same video. (optionally we can use the site we're streaming from (twitch) but if we use a program most people have installed already it prevents you from having to sign up somewhere else)

-If Chat program: Voice Chat or no? I would be okay with talking to you guys during this BECAUSE ITS DAN VS if you guys would be alright with me in general and my (slightly) squeaky PS3 headset I use on my PC. However if we did this this pretty much means we'd have to use skype...!

let me know and then we can set this up and Kayla and I will make up a playlist of episodes and finalize the details.

all the ps4 news that came out today has me super excited for all the new games. gfjgjdklgl. they're also remaking a game i've always kind of loved because i remember watching my brother play it when I was too small to comprehend games... (plus it was a computer game so im not too great with those, especially then haha) It was on the amiga 500 we used to have and i just....

it's so weird lol. I mentioned it a little on twitter and its funny how excited I am to see more for this game? I wish I knew what studio was working on it. I want to see more. D:

I'm not sure if I'll be buying the remake or not, but I am definitely going to be keeping my eye on it. The game is Shadow of the Beast, if you're curious. It came out in 1989. It's really weird they're suddenly just doing a remake for this. o_o

I wanted to talk to someone all day about how excited I am about this but ... no one can relate ?? I guess the next time I see my brother I'll tell him about it if he hasn't heard but he usually brushes off any game related stuff I bring up. ha. Even though this IS Shadow of the Beast and he played the crap out of that game... I'd like to think he cares? I DON'T KNOW.

its also weird that they're remaking this game when they shut down studio liverpool last year (was it last year? i dont remember -_-) considering it used to be psygnosis.............the studio that MADE shadow of the beast. :| lol

ok so this entry is just going to be talking forever about Dan Vs if you don't care scroll on. If you do care about my opinions on this absolutely amazing show then it's under the cut... I ~~painstakingly~~ picked out 10 episodes that were my favorites. I'll have them on a list here as well as reasons why they are my favorites to go with them. :D

I'll start with #10 and work up to #1 (number 1 being my favorite, ok)

10) Season 3, Episode 13: Summer Camp
THIS EPISODE. When I found the description for it in my DVR a few weeks before the episode aired, Kayla and I just about went into a fan-coma. It's about how Dan and Chris first met, and how they became friends.... as kids! It's really cute and I love it so much.

LOOK HOW CUTE THEY ARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Obviously it's also pretty funny. Child Dan is almost more terrifying than his adult counterpart.

The main reason I didn't score this episode higher is because when I get to the end of this episode I'm always like THIS IS ALL OF DAN VS. THIS IS IT. ITS OVER. :'( and it makes me sad haha.

well.. it's still not "officially" canceled, but you know, it doesn't seem good.

Still... if it really is over this is a pretty adorable note to end on if you ask me...... (this is literally the last scene in the episode :x)

9) Season 2, Episode 6: Monster Under the Bed
This episode is hilarious and ridiculous, but I love it. I don't want to spoil it, but the biggest reason I love this episode so much is because of the ending. :D

8) Season 3, Episode 12: Family Cruise

UHHHHHHHHHHH.
~~there totally is a theme going on here omg~~
Also this episode is really special to me because I happened to watch it the first time when Kayla was visiting!? (same for summer camp actually, and funny story, we didn't realize at the time that that was essentially the end of our beloved series...fitting we ended up seeing them together ha.) but i just remember when that scene above played out and we were both like SILENTLY STARING INTENTLY AT THE SCREEN and then afterwards we were just like DID WE JUST WITNESS THE GREATEST THING EVER?????? the answer? Yes.

ANYWAY ABOUT THE EPISODE MORE AND NOT JUST THAT ~one scene~. Chris is going on a cruise with Elise and her parents. Dan wants Chris to go zombie wrestling instead ~~what even is that~~

And then some stuff happens and Dan accidentally ends up on the cruise and he is angry he's missing beautiful zombie wrestling. obviously being on a cruise is the worst thing any human could ever have to endure.

7) Season 2, Episode 16: Gigundo Mart
~~Costco~~ Gigundo Mart opens in the area. Chris discovers its his one true love. Dan hates it because it's driving down local businesses and inviting idiots to park in his neighborhood.

This episode is hilarious because of how crazy Chris gets with buying things he doesn't need.

this is the face of someone who clearly has control of his life.

AND because of how disgusted Dan is over Chris having been sucked into it. There's some really funny lines in this episode, including some of the completely ridiculous things Chris buys (6 pack of lawn mowers!). I turned a series of dialoge in this episode into the dumbest joke ever but it still makes me laugh ~~because i think im hilarious~~ so that gets it a +10 also.

6) Season 1, Episode 22: Lemonade Stand Gang
A group of children sets up a lemonade stand in front of Dan's apartment building. Except they run the stand like a crime syndicate and extort people for money (including Dan and Chris). The episode is spent with Dan trying to find ways to get back at children who beat him up.

5) Season 2, Episode 17: Chris
Chris wins a radio contest for a ~real~ prop from he and Dan's favorite movie... however, Dan feels like the prop gun in question belongs to him, since Chris wouldn't have known about the contest (or won, really) without his help. They spend most of this episode trying to one-up each other trying to reclaim the gun throughout the episode.

Also there is one part of this episode that Kayla and I have ruined (read: made better) with inside jokes and I laugh like a maniac at the dumbest thing in this episode now. I'm pretty sure the first time we discovered this both my room mates thought we were insane.

4) Season 2, Episode 7: Golf
I LOVE THE GOLF EPISODE. I don't even know why? When I first saw it (unlike most of the others on this list) I thought it was cool but it wasn't one of my most memorable episodes... but honestly with the amount of times I have watched this one over other episodes on this list makes it earn its place. There is just too much win in this episode ok. JUST TOO MUCH.

GOLF IS SO EASY!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 ~~dan put your hand back on right this instant~~

Also did I mention I love Dan's outfit in this episode? Like.....too much???
Also underneath his hat is the most ridiculous top curl on his head.

it kills me.....it....i can't. (and yes this is the only time you see it in the entire episode...but...but just look at it)

3) Season 3, Episode 5: High School Reunion
Is there anything about this episode I don't love forever? NO PROBABLY NOT. Everything about this is amazing. It amazes me how Dan and Chris stayed friends forever and ever despite having such different personalities, and nothing could illustrate it better than this episode. lol. The way they so differently reflect back on ~high school memories~ and all that... its amazing.

2) Season 3, Episode 6: Common Cold
This is an episode I did not expect to like very much when I heard it was going to be a thing. I mean... colds are gross?

BUT I CLEARLY FORGOT THIS IS DAN VS HOW COULD IT GO WRONG!!!!

and now its one of my favorite episodes ever. Dan gets sick for ~~what he claims to be~~ the first time in his life ~~despite him being shown with a cold at the end of the Canada episode~~. Dan then tries to ~get revenge~ on the cold ... in his Dan way... and Chris follows him around and he spends most of the episode trying to convince Dan to just go home and rest.

this episode also has a really adorable moment in it that i think i replayed 89532905238 times in a row when i first saw it. REWIND > REWATCH > REWIND > REWATCH like a bunch. srsly. I also watched this episode like 3 times the night it aired and then spent the entire weekend crying because Kayla couldn't watch it yet. (She doesn't have the HUB, and had to wait for Amazon video to upload it. lol) IT WAS THE MOST AGONIZING THING EVER because ...... because dan vs. ~~you don't understand how much we love this show do you~~

1) Season 1, Episode 5: Animal Shelter
ANIMAL. SHELTER. this is easiest spot on the list. Everything else I was like OHHHHHH WHAT DO I PUT WHAT DO I PUT. but this one?? my number one. easily. by far. I've seen this one like 20 times minimum. MINIMUM.

Basically you know how I mentioned in Common Cold how Dan gets sick and Chris follows him around trying to convince him to rest so he gets better? Well. In Animal Shelter, Chris gets sick and this is what Dan does for him:

But it's hilarious because Dan talks for sick Chris... and he just pretends they are having a grand old fun adventure while Chris is just....dead. dying. whatever. he's fine.

Also Mr. Mumbles makes her debut in this episode!!! everyone's favorite kitty.

I'll start with the ~random pony merch~ first since its a pretty short thing.

I went to the mall randomly today because why not. I just went to check hot topic and LO AND BEHOLD they had the next set of funko vinyl figures in already! I really really REALLY like Lyra (she's probably my favorite background pony by now... idk why. i think she's really pretty though!)

and I was like "what if they have the random sparkly one on the shelf...!" I didn't think they would. Because there is like 1 per every 24 figures. The sparkly variants of dr. hooves and fluttershy sell for $40~$60 on ebay. (derpy and rbd sell for less probably because amazon accidentally leaked a crapload of them for MSRP a while ago)

I LOOKED AT ALL OF THEM and then all of the sudden i just found this sitting there......

I was like WTF.

So they didn't have Lyra... but yea I bought that pinkie pie. I don't even like Pinkie Pie (at all, really). But I want to see if I can trade her for a Lyra. I bought two vinyl lyra online (bcuz best pony and also because I got one free with coupons so why not) and they should arrive wednesday so I HOPE HOPE HOPE i get a sparkly lyra in there....... so i can sell pinkie for like 5x what i bought her for ~evil laughter~

Lyra so majestic tho. Also these figures are really heavy! I feel like I could kill someone with this if I threw it at their eyeball.

BACK TO DAN VS NOW..... I posted about the Mr. Mumbles plush, right?! Well she came today! :O

Then they went to the beach! (Because Dan ~loves~ the beach)

And I took them to pony movie. (we went dressed as Dan and Chris also... but no one caught on. :()

This is one of my favorite pictures I've taken. LOL. I took him to WalMart and buried him in a pile of pony dolls for this. BUT WHY ARE PONIES MORE POPULAR THAN YOUR SHOW, DAN????? ~~we will never know, i certainly don't get it~~

look look! this was finished today...!

i had her made that tiny because i wanted her to be in scale with the dan and chris plush i have AND SHE TOTALLY WILL BE ~~if my calculations are correct~~. I mean, Mr. Mumbles scale isn't consistent in the show anyway BUT I LIKE HER MORE ON THE SMALLER SIDE and since she's posable this means I can stick her on Dan's shoulder or on his head ~~or attacking Chris~~

i am not sure but i have been trying to narrow down my top ~favorite ever~ episodes of dan vs for a bit now... since it seems more and more unlikely the show will get a season 4 (sob)... BUT ... if i made a list i wonder if i should post it here? IDK HOW MANY PEOPLE ON MY LIST WATCH IT BUT... or if anyone would care about what my opinion is on it. LOLOL.

but i might do it anyway because even if its just for my own reference. I forget a lot of things, and it's easier to remember my train of thought if i write it down.

Though I already know what my #1 episode will be.

so after like two weeks of debating i finally got the guts to post the Dan Vs plush I got on the official Dan Vs facebook page... all I wanted was a like from them, really.

but then this happened.

i can't stop...I CAN'T....!!

i kind of lol at the people saying that Chris looks weird. Clearly they don't realize how hard it is turning a 2d character into a 3d art format. especially when his hair defies logic.

BUT WHATEVER I JUST......

so i guess i'm all into posting one entry a month!!!!

does anyone remember when i used to post like 89 entries a day? man weren't those dark times...

my life is super boring as always!! been working!! been doing not much of anything...

I finally got a book case for my room. so now i have books on it. i got a huge one though and all the books i brought with me literally fit on one shelf. lol. ~~just as planned~~

ive been also super obsessed with dan vs. for a while now, actually. its like one of those shows i watched one day cuz i was bored (srsly i think i was sick that day when i was just watching w/e was on tv lol)) but then realized it was literally the best thing ever. ever.

how much is super obsessed??? how about 500+ pages of written stuff. (over 230k words!) LOLoLoLLlOl to be fair its not all mine. co-op writing stuff with thekayla, BUT REGARDLESS... we're kind of crazy but its amazing and i regret NOTHING. the only thing i dont like is that the hub seems to hate the show and it makes me want to burn their office to the ground ~~i learned from dan how to deal with problems~~ basically season 4 is like ????????????????????

so idk

i really think if it was on another channel it would be 29841098229x more popular. no one watches the hub except for pony fans, and a lot of pony fans dont even have the hub, because its not a common channel for cable providers to carry. and then the network dudes gave dan vs the worst time slot ever and then cry when no one watches it. I WONDURR WHY NO ONE WATCHES IT :UUUUUUUUU (its a puzzlement!!!!)

maybe im just buttmad because they seem to be purposely burying a great show and hoping everyone forgets about it. idk.

BUT I REFUSE.

uh also unrelated to that...stuff... i beat bioshock infinite. yay!!! gaming!!!!!!!11!!! its pretty much the only game ive played recently? idk my life anymore. lol

ive also been itching to do craft projects again even though my arm is like NERP. i mentioned it on deviantart and then suddenly my roommate borrowed the sewing machine from her mom and said i could use it??? im like....o-okay? im a little excited to try it but ive never used one before like ever so im like ".....???" regardless, if i can work on stuff faster without blowing up my stupid broken elbow nerve that would be cool because i like making things... i want to get better but i cant if i dont make things and i cant make many things like this!!

also speaking of craft things. i need some faux fur, but anywhere i find to buy it online is like BUY 288094 YARDS OR NONE. i dont need a ton. i dont even need 1/4th a yard. is there anywhere i can get my hands on some scraps or something? i'll pay for them obviously but i just hate spending money on 100 mountains of fabric i'll never use. ~~also because i can never throw it out lol~~

also my car has gotten 2 flat tires in a month and might possibly have a third. starting to get paranoid that someone hates my car and its pissing me off. who gets this many flat tires?!?!! /flips desk

what's up?!?!

i haven't been around lately because uhm... i'm lazy. No really... actually my friend thekayla came out to visit and it was like super fun. we got to go to disneyland ~for free~ because my brother works there now. also i rode the tower of terror because i had always wanted to. i have a strange love for the twilight zone and i just needed to see the themeing. turns out it is probably my new favorite ride. i don't understand everyone who ever told me it was terrible (read: almost everyone) ITS AMAZING. i wanna ride it 100 times.

sad we didn't get to ride the dumb cars ride though. it's fun but it had like 8098949748298421 people all day every day waiting for it, and they ran out of fast passes about 30 seconds after the park opened so uhm.....yeah. perhaps next time!?

but then when she went home i got sick. i'm currently in the process of coughing my lungs inside out and it's super duper awesome.

how many of you LJ buddies are going to move to DW/already have a DW when LJ forces that horrible new "FRIENDS FEED" thing on us? im already posting from DW and i read my DW page but seems like barely anyone posts on it lol.

also i'll try to comment more. ive actually read pretty much everything that's been posted since i updated last but ......im so lazy......

Most Anticipated Title:
Not too many A+++ games (AAA to me :D) came out this year. That said, my most anticipated was Spec Ops: The Line, probably. Close runner up: Lumines: Electronic Symphony... and maybe Resistance: Burning Skies, but that game turned out to be such a horrible disappointment I kind of forget I ever wanted it to begin with. Which brings me to the next category...

Biggest Letdown:
RESISTANCE: BURNING SKIES. i could go on for hours about everything wrong with this game. Seriously. It's awful. It breaks my fangrill heart that this is quite possibly the last Resistance game to come out. :( Everything ruined after the brillance of Resistance 3.

Most Surprising Game:
Tokyo Jungle! It's so... weird. But addicting. Crazy addicting fun. It's so simple, so tiny of a game... but yet I couldn't stop playing it. :b I burned out on it a little (but recently was thinking I wanted to play more again >.>) but part of that is to blame on outernauts...

Favorite Game of 2012:
~~OUTERNAUTS~~ uhm... Spec Ops: The Line. Followed by Tokyo Jungle. Or Jak series. Jak series is old but it was my first time playing it this year. :b

Top 5 Favorite Characters:
I DIDN'T PLAY ENOUGH NEW GAMES FOR THIS CATEGORY THIS YEAR. but i liked Razer from Jak X....so.......yeah.

Otherwise go look at last year's list and it's pretty much the same.

Game that induced the most rage:
Resistance: Burning Skies... game was easy as hell but EVERYTHING ELSE WAS WRONG. EVERYTHING. I only got 100% trophies bcuz its Resistance and it's so easy it could be 100%'d in your sleep. Seriously. Otherwise some parts in the FUBAR difficulty of Spec Ops had me just about snapping my controller in half. >.> curse my burning need for platinum trophies. (but i did it!!!)

Game I want to get back to eventually in 2012:
Deus Ex: Human Revolution (YES AGAIN), inFAMOUS (yes again), I Am Alive, Tokyo Jungle, Just Cause 2, Batman: Arkham City, PS All Stars, Spec Ops: The Line, Heavy Rain.

oh well. just now starting to get better, though I still feel as though my energy is on empty all the time, so I'm not doing much...

I started playing DXHR again because that game is just amazing. inFamous is definitely my ~*~ one true~*~ game love, as it were, but DXHR is a close second... very close. Even after playing it so much and then re-playing it again now its still super fun and I just love everything about it. lol.

uhhmmmmm. ive also been working a lot. lolollo my life is boring the end.
