Title: She Said Yes!
Warnings: Overly sentimental stuff with a little bit of heartbreak.
Notes: This is just my silly take on the Barbie/Ken drama since as of today (2/14/11) they are officially dating again. This is a look at their relationship from the beginning, through the breakup and up until their reunion. I obviously take liberties with the details of how it might have actually gone down so this is in no way canonical lol. This fanmix sort of implies though that they might have actually chosen to get back together after the party in New York City last night and didn't announce it until today (since it was posted almost first thing this morning lol). Yes, I know they are just dolls.

01. Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows by Leslie Gore | Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows, everything that's wonderful is how it feels when we're together.

A nauseatingly cute song from the 60s, the same decade Barbie and Ken met. It basically describes their uber perfect and sunny relationship.

02. Every Heartbeat by Amy Grant | Classic case of boy meets girl moving in the same direction. You're not asking for the world; I'm not asking for perfection.

A look at how Barbie and Ken seemed to forever perfect for one another over the years.

03. I Could Get Used To This by Everlife | If there's a dark side to you, I haven't seen it. Cuz every good thing you do feels like you mean it.

Barbie and Ken had a love that was just too good to be true. They were so perfect, who was to know that soon it would come crashing down?

04. On The Line by Demi Lovato feat. Jonas Brothers | One and the same, never to change, our love was beautiful. We got it all, destined to fall, our love was tragical.

Fast forward to 2004 and the break up that was heard around the world. The reasons why are still sketchy at best, but suddenly the world's perfect couple decided they should take a break and just be friends.

05. Back Here by BBMak | Here I am so alone and there's nothing in this world I can do.

Ken's POV. It probably didn't take too long afterward for Ken to realize how much he still loved Barbie (if his over the top attempt to get her back is any indication).

06. The Song Remembers When by Kristin Chenoweth | After driving out the memory of the way things might have been. After I'd forgotten all about us, the song remembers when.

Barbie's POV. Inspired by Barbie's recent Facebook status where she was in New York remembering her times with Ken. Something tells me it wasn't the first time she wondered if she had made the right decision.

07. That Thing You Do by The Wonders | And you don't mean to be cruel. You never even knew about the heartache I've been going through.

Ken's POV. After 6 years, Ken is still as heartbroken as he was when they first broke up.

08. Magic by Honor Society | I got a hold on you. I got a hold on you. I got a hold on you tonight.

Ken starts finding ways to get Barbie's attention again. He rents out billboards, posts on Facebook and so on. He's got to find a way to let her know that what they have is magic. Meanwhile, Barbie is admittedly beginning to wonder if she needs to give him a chance again.

09. She's No You by Jesse McCartney | No one's ever gonna get to me oh the way you do. Now baby can't you see that you're the one the only one

All of Ken's ~~stalkerish~~ sweet hijinks all come to a climax in New York City and at last he has his chance to let Barbie know face to face that no other girl will ever be the one for him.

10. That's How You Know by Amy Adams | He'll find a new way to show you a little bit everyday. That's how you know, that's how you know he's your love.

Suddenly it all makes sense for Barbie. She realizes that everybody wants to live happily ever after and Ken really has always been her soulmate. She knows without a doubt that the time is right to get back together with him.

11. Long Ago by Hawk Nelson | Let's take a look at the future, see where we left off. I'm so grateful that I found you cuz without you I am lost.

Ken can't believe it! She said yes!! He's almost afraid that he'll wake up and everything will be a dream. He just wants to get back to where they left off, happy together.

12. Something More by Aly and A.J. | Then I saw you over there. Our blue eyes locked in a stare. I didn't know quite what to say. Sometimes words get in the way.

Barbie and Ken spend Valentine's Day recalling the many blissful years they had prior to 2004 as they celebrate their being back together.

13. Pyramid by Charice feat. Iyaz | We're going down in history!

Now that they are back together, those of us who have always believed they were always meant to be can only hope that from hear on out they realize their love is meant to last forever.

Looking Back | A Megamind Fanmix

Warnings: Spoilers for the film.
Notes: If you're not into pop (especially current teenpop), this may not interest you haha. One song is a radio edit. Sorry if that offends you for some reason, but I don't personally like profanity in my music.

01. First Time by Lifehouse | For once in my life, I'm scared to death. I'm taking a chance letting you inside.

Inspired by the Megamind(Bernard)/Roxanne montage scene of them falling in love. Particularly, when Roxanne says she hasn't had a reason to laugh for awhile. This whole montage is so light and fluffy, and this song immediately made me think of it.

02. Behind Enemy Lines by Demi Lovato | I've been walking behind enemy lines. I've been fighting, fighting from the other side.

As Megamind puts on his charade as Bernard, he literally begins treading dangerous waters. He's still the bad guy and Roxanne is still determined to see him taken down somehow. Things only get more complicated, of course, as he falls in love.

03. Stuttering by Fefe Dobson | There's a whole lotta things that I will forgive, but I just can't take a liar.

When Roxanne learns the truth about Megamind's charade, she has every reason to think that he's a liar and villain she could never be with.

04. Behind These Hazel Eyes by Kelly Clarkson | I told you everything, opened up and let you in. You made me feel alright for once in my life.

Look at the thoughts during/following the rain scene. Both Roxanne and Megamind are hurt for very similar reasons. Both got close, sharing their secrets with one another (especially Megamind to Roxanne). Both thought each other could be the one until the truth was discovered.

05. Over Thinking by Relient K | I was thinking, over thinking about exactly how I'm not exactly him.

Poor Megamind is so clearly confused after Roxanne rejects him. He was changing for her, but then she broke his heart sending him back to villainy. This song delves into his back and forth thoughts in those moments as he heads back to the evil lair following their fight.

06. My Happy Ending (Radio Edit) by Avril Lavigne | You were all the things I thought I knew and I thought we could be.

Mostly Roxanne's point of view of how she might have felt after finding out that the man she fell in love was nothing but a fantasy so to speak. She obviously thought that Bernard might be the one, but then Megamind temporarily ruined her happy ending.

07. Beautiful Mess by Miranda Cosgrove | I saw lightning, but you just see rain. I hear music. That's my heart being played.

This may seem like another Roxanne-centric look at the relationship she and Megamind had (since it's clearly from a woman's point of view at some parts), but there are some very general lines that make me think of both characters' reactions to what they had. I personally think both Roxanne and Megamind were thinking the other didn't care as much as they did about the relationship. Tither way, they are both stuck with a beautiful mess.

08. All In by Lifehouse | It's alright, I came to my senses. Let go of my defenses. There's no way I'm giving up this time.

Now that we've gotten past the angsty romance portion, we turn our focus to our (anti)hero. Megamind realizes he has to go to rescue Roxanne even if it means he'll die. After watching the movie, this was one of the first songs that came to my mind. He loses his defenses and goes all in, win or lose.

09. Hero by Drew Ryan Scott | I'm no Superman. I can't take your hand and fly you anywhere you wanna go.

In the end, Megamind isn't exactly Superman...err...Metro Man as far as powers go, but he's still a hero. Thanks to Roxanne, he finds his potential and his reason to win.

10. Something To Believe In by Spectacular! Cast | I used to see the world as cold, so cold. I always felt so all alone.

Mostly for the lulz, but I just couldn't resist adding a random, goofy, wannabe 80's rock ballad about the super awesome power of love. And I suppose the lyrics do sort of describe how Megamind and Roxanne both changed for the better because of each other...I mean, if you can get past the lulz factor. Plus, this is a fun, mock-dramatic way to end the mix :)

You Know You Ship It Too! - A Strange Disney Pairings Picspam Sequel

Welcome to my “You Know You Ship It Too!” picspam. This picspam will take you on a tour of "strange" and random pairings that exist within the Disney fandom. Perhaps your recall the first “You Know You Ship It” picspam from Phase One (located here if you're not a member of disneyverse.) Well, this is a sequel picspam!! Hence the cheesy use of "too" instead of "two" okay. We will be exploring even more of those guilty pleasure, bizarre and sometimes completely ridiculous ships that people have stepped forward and claimed as their own over the years. Meaning: all of these can be found in some manifestation somewhere on the web and some were even gathered by me via very unscientific polls from those among the Disney fandom.

Once again, I will be your tour guide for this picspam. And as your tour guide I must clarify these ships are not all mine. I never really considered some of these – nor do I actually ship all of these. That said, for the sake of this picspam, I will defend all of these as though they are my own. Because some may be more controversial than last time, your tour guide also respectfully asks that any hateful antiship or opposing ship comments be restrained. Having an opinion is one thing (and, hey, I may even agree!!) but the last thing we need are ship wars!! Let’s just all get along, kthnx.

I leave you with this final warning: proceed at your own risk. It is very possible that one or more of the ships encountered on this tour will result in the following: screaming, vomiting, a sudden urge to type profanity or slurs in the comments, etc., etc. I also cannot guarantee that you will ever be able to unsee any of them.

So please remain seated and hold all questions/insults until the end as the tour gets underway.

Amos Slade and Widow Tweed from The Fox and the Hound and The Fox and the Hound 2

We start our tour with a quaint little look at a ship that embodies both the timeless love/hate aspect as well as lovers of "old people" love. It seems pretty obvious that no matter how often Amos and Tweed butt heads, its further agitated by the fact that maybe they actually have feelings for one another. I mean, all we really know about them is that Tweed had to have had a husband to be a widow, but how long has she known Amos? Did he come before or after? There’s a lot of potential that draws shippers to the delightfully obstinate pair. And since Fox and the Hound 2 takes place prior to the events of the original, it shows that their love/hate relationship has been ongoing throughout the years and that they can get along...for a little while at least.

Shenzi and Bonzai from The Lion King

Next on the tour we have a pretty normal ship that many probably wouldn’t protest. There seems to be a general consensus that Shenzi and Bonzai possibly have something going on. They are definitely in sync with one another in the film and have probably been friends for a long time prior to start. Some have wondered if they are siblings, but there’s no real evidence for or against this. What is clear is that they definitely have a strong bond. Furthermore, their “Mufasa shudder” moment is probably evidence enough that something unspoken –albeit maybe twisted- is going on between them. The only improbable wrench in this ship would be Timon, but that ship has not yet been added to the official tour xD Alright, let’s move on.

Marina Del Ray and Benjamin from The Little Mermaid III: Ariel’s Beginning

Before there was Morgana or even Ursula…there was Marina (what with the a’s at the end of villain names?). Yes, Marina Del Ray: a scheming mermaid with her eye on Sebastian’s job. And by her side was Benjamin the manatee: a loyal friend, personal stylist and perhaps cross species love interest? They’re certainly close and Benjamin must have some sort of extreme attachment to Marina in order to stick with her in spite of her mildly villainous ways. Even in the end, he’s willing to stick by her in jail (or is he just visiting? IDK). As for Marina, she sings his name in a sultry fashion in “Just One Mistake” and in the end listens to his voice of reason in the jail cell (although a little too late). Heck, she even sambas with him when he asks. But the truest test of love goes back to Benjamin as he apparently found a way to continually exist in saltwater – despite being a freshwater creature – perhaps just to be with Marina… (that was a science lesson, folks.)

Before we continue, I must give you fair warning. We are about to begin possibly the most controversial leg of our tour with two stops that are a part of the May-December portion of the picspam. A May-December romance is one in which one member of the couple is said to be in the spring of life and the other in the winter. AKA a significant age gap. Typically, this definition applies to the female being the younger as in recent years the term Cougar-Cub tends to be used when the female is the older party. Now, as your tour guide, I would like to take this moment to very clearly state: I DO NOT CONDONE ADULT-MINOR RELATIONSHIPS OR PEDOPHILIA OF ANY KIND!!!! While I can’t speak for other shippers, I personally would ONLY EVER consider the following ships once the second party has reached adulthood…and by adulthood I would even say in their 20’s and not like “just turned 18 adulthood” okay? So, please, do not attempt to hurt your tour guide!!

Andy Davis and Bonnie Anderson from Toy Story 3

This ship was born very soon after Toy Story 3 premiered in theaters. It started subtly with friendship ficlets and then little by little, writers in the fandom began to admit they considered and even liked the idea of Bonnie growing up and becoming Mrs. Andy Davis. The ship had a slow emergence because of the fact that there is an approximately 13 year gap between the two and there’s absolutely no way you could strictly consider it based on what we see in the film because then poor Andy would be a serious creeper. So what draws people to this ship? Maybe too many years of shipping has corrupted their minds into seeing romance where it isn’t. On the other hand, Andy has always been a sort of offbeat character in some opinions so maybe they think his not settling down for several years and then ending up with Bonnie is a possibility. However, another possibility may be their new common link: Woody and the other toys. If Bonnie keeps the toys, but then eventually ends up with Andy, it solves the emotional dilemma of the toys parting with Andy (and the Davis family line in general) forever. Then again, maybe the shippers just like the way their personalities mesh and aren’t going to let the age gap stop them from seeing the potential. So long as it remains in future tense, your tour guide cannot object to any of the above.

James P. Sullivan (Sulley) and Mary Gibbs (Boo) from Monster’s Inc.

The age gap widens and cross-race (at least I guess Monsters would be considered their own race…*shrugs*) is added to the mix. While I admit I can't at all explain why or how, shippers have latched onto this pair. It's believed that Boo will never be the same now that she has been to Monstropolis. It is believed that because the door was fixed, Boo will continue to find her way back to the world of monsters. And, of course, over time romance will blossom…throw in some monster world/human world drama, calamity, etc…and then they live happily ever after (and have strange looking kids). For those still totally weirded out by the age gap, I’m personally assuming that Monsters age differently than humans, possibly having longer lifespans; thus, although Sulley will always be older it will be in a similar sense as, say, Edward actually being like 80 some years older than Bella. Of course, my assumption could be wrong based on each shipper.

Our next few stops will take us to the place where shipping wars are inevitably born. Whenever a screenwriter gives us more than one possible couple (a love triangle/quadrilateral/etc.) there will always be people who fall in love with the couple that didn’t happen in the end.

Edward and Giselle from Enchanted

First we have adorably oblivious Prince Edward and adorably naïve Giselle. Had these two only been able to share “True Love’s Kiss” in Andelasia how might have things been different? Edward nobly went to rescue Giselle only to find her mind distorted by our world, just as Narissa ultimately wanted. But the fact remains that had Giselle remained immune to our world she very well could have still been Edward’s true love. Example: throughout the early part of the film, she remains devoted to Edward even in Robert’s presence. It isn’t until Robert makes her angry (and she feels his bare skin) that she suddenly becomes doubtful of her feelings for the prince. It’s a sort of tale about corruption really. There’s no saying for sure that she wouldn’t have lived happily ever after with Edward if she hadn’t been disillusioned by our world.

Quasimodo and Esmerelda from The Hunchback of Notre Dame

Next we come to a ship consisting of two outcasts. Quasimodo and Esmerelda almost instantly share a connection. They bring out the true character in each other. They risk their lives for one another. The writers felt obliged to leave this connection purely platonic, but shippers would have none of it. Instead, they are convinced that Esmerelda should have ended up with Quasimodo. Some even argue that it kind of defeats the purpose for Esmerelda to be all “inner beauty” and then end up with the studly guy who’s super awesome because he has looks and heart. The introduction of Madellaine in the sequel only made things worse for some shippers who argue she is nothing but a Mary-Sue like character introduced strictly to make up for Quasimodo getting ripped off in the original.

Dr. Delbert Doppler and Sarah Hawkins from Treasure Planet

So, imagine you’re watching a film. At the beginning you see hints of a one sided romance and think it may turn into something by the film’s end. Then, BAM! A different chick drops out of nowhere and the original ship is obliterated. That’s how it was for Dr. Doppler and Mrs. Hawkins. In the beginning of the film, it’s almost too obvious that Dr. Doppler is at least slightly infatuated with Mrs. Hawkins. They’ve been friends for years, by Sarah’s admittance, so shippers can imagine many a backstory involving Delbert’s unrequited love for Sarah. So, what if? What if the Captain hadn’t been a love interest? What if Delbert returned with Jim unattached? Would Sarah have seen him differently or admitted to feelings she already had? Would we have gotten the ending some of us expected at the beginning? I suppose we may never know.

Lumiere and Mrs. Potts from Beauty and the Beast

Moving ahead in our tour we see Lumiere and Mrs. Potts. What do you mean it’s crazy? Well, let’s think about it. Lumiere is certainly the playboy so I don’t think he’d be hesitant to consider Mrs. Potts just because of her age. At least, in teapot form. And as long as we’re on the subject, it’s been widely discussed on whether or not Mrs. Potts in human form was an accurate portrayal. Some argue she shouldn't have white hair and others argue that it was common for women even in their 40's-50's to have white hair in those days ~~(and it's not like Lumiere should complain because they all ugly when they become human, idek!)~~ However, this is mostly just a look at their inanimate form which means age really isn’t much of an issue. We don't really know how long they've even been cursed. Some say 21 years, but Lumiere says 10 years (in "Be Our Guest"). So after 10+ years, why shouldn’t they have something going on? There doesn’t seem to be a Mr. Potts anywhere in the castle (not that Lumiere would probably care), so maybe she can tame Lumiere of his philandering ways. And who knows...maybe their flirtatious behavior together in “Human Again” is the real reason the scene got cut ;)

Gill and Peach from Finding Nemo

If you look to your right (metaphorically speaking), you’ll see Gill and Peach. These two are the perfect team. Gill is the brains of the fish tank, but Peach is the eyes and ears he -and the others- depends on. Peach knows Gill. Just by looking at him she realized he was calculating a plan after Nemo arrived. This insinuates that they are probably pretty close. TBQH, their personalities just really mesh. Of course, it’s not all roses. Peach was the first to realize the filter plan might not be so good after all (“Gill, this isn’t a good idea”), but Gill didn’t listen to her voice of reason. After Nemo narrowly escapes the filter, Peach is again the one who speaks up to Gill (possibly signifying that she is practically the second leader of the tank gang) and begs him not to make Nemo go back in. So, while they might not be completely in sync, they still interact quite a lot in the film. Bonus interaction comes if you ever use the DVD’s virtual aquarium. There’s a sequence where Peach starts to fall from the side of the aquarium wall, but Gill notices and pushes her back up. Too cute and another sign that they just really go well together.

Jiminy Cricket and Blue Fairy from Pinocchio

Our next ship proves that sometimes when you sing about a star, that star could end up being your lady love. At least, that’s the case for Jiminy Cricket. Boy did he get a surprise when that star turned out to be a gorgeous fairy. As improbable as this couple may seem, it’s obvious that Jiminy becomes infatuated with the Blue Fairy immediately: blushing and referring to her as milady. But that’s not to say it’s completely one sided either. Blue Fairy is pretty coy with him. She agrees to help Pinocchio escape Stromboli when Jiminy asks her to help him for his sake. And then in the end, she gives him the gold star he wanted. And speaking of the star, it’s subtle and easy to miss, but it twinkles so that it mimics the twinkling of the Blue Fairy’s star. Thus, they are now sort of an equal match!! As ol’ Bogey would say if he were being misquoted, “This could be the start of a beautiful friendship.” Not to mention something much more than friendship…

Woody and Dolly from Toy Story 3

The next ship on our tour is a ship that is beginning to pick up quite a good deal of momentum (in the shadows that is…not quite yet out in the open). While many have stuck with the angsty Woody and Bo missing each other stuff or the miraculous finding one another again plots, some have begun to switch their attention to a possible new counterpart for our beloved Sheriff. Dolly is in many ways a counterpart to Woody…even more than Jessie although she was his manufactured counterpart. She is clearly the smartest in Bonnie’s room, outgoing, one part playful, one part serious and a lot of people –even outside of the ship- consider her the unspoken leader of Bonnie’s room (just with less pressure because there aren’t many toys and Bonnie is younger). It’s also worth pointing out that their names have a sort of parallel: Dolly is named because she is a doll and Woody is possibly a play on the fact that the original television character was a marionette made of wood, they both end in y and have the same amount of letters (possibly another hint that Dolly is the Woody of Bonnie’s room). So, if Woody can learn to live without Bo (not saying he would or should forget her), Dolly is actually a great match for him. Also, thanks to Bonnie, it appears as though Woody and Dolly will have a hate/love relationship during playtime as they “battle” one another. This is further hinted at in a cut scene from the Toy Story 3 video game in which Dolly panics when she realizes Woody has defeated her. He looks down at her with a smile and tips his hat and it comes across as both smug and slightly flirtatious.

Tiana and That Random Trolley Guy from Princess and the Frog

At last we reach the final ship on today’s tour. Yes, Mr. Unnamed Trolley Guy is possibly the one that got away. Sometimes people ask, “What if my true love walked by and I missed them?” That could totally be the case for Tiana since she was too immersed in her cooking magazine. Sure, to some, Trolley Guy might seem like he was coming across in a similar fashion as some random guy at a bar spouting pick up lines. But, to others, he comes across as a guy who genuinely thinks Tiana is pretty and wants to be suave and offer her a flower to let her know she’s pretty. Who knows what it could have led to!?

Collette's POV. "But..I wanted you to succeed. I...liked you." Collette clearly had her doubts as to why she was attracted to Linguini in the first place, but after the epic kiss of epicness, her doubts fade away.

Just a song about how life changes for all of the characters, their dreams come true, the impossible happens, etc. Pretty generic, but still I think this song could have easily fit the movie! I mean, "Are you ready for the world to believe in you?" Totally makes me think of Remy.

Because Wall-E is a beautiful and pure love story. There's the obvious Wall-E/Eve, but there's also John/Mary and then an underlying theme of loving the Earth and letting your love change the world around you. So this song is perfectly sentimental/dramatic/ballad-y for the film.

06. I'm Alive by Celine Dion (Wall-E) | lyrics

EVE's POV (and some other POVs could be added in their I suppose). Wall-E is just a robot, but he's more alive than all of the characters for most of the movie. Through this, he makes everyone else alive. ESPECIALLY EVE! By the end of the film, she's no longer a robot with a directive. She's her own person very alive.

07. Look Around by David Archuleta (UP) | lyrics

Carl's POV/Ellie's POV. Ellie's outlook on life was that it was an adventure worth living. Every second was a memory and she enjoyed living in the moment. Carl did too when he was with her, but then he got caught up in what was missed as opposed to seeing what wasn't missed. Ellie's adventure book needed to remind him to just stop and look around.

08. Road To Paradise by Jordin Sparks (UP) | ~~lyrics~~ - ridiculously inaccurate!!

Carl's POV. I'm convinced this song was NOT written for TinkerBell, but for Up, TBQH. I mean listen to those lyrics (Paradise as in "Paradise Falls", "Make a few memories along the way", "Danger and fear are gonna test you. Still you are comin' to the rescue", etc.). The song just screams Up so much that I feel trying to explain it would be pointless.

09. Knock Knock by Jasmine Sagginario (Toy Story 3) | lyrics

Jessie's POV. Jessie just seriously wants Buzz to make a move. She's been waiting for what...9-10 years? She just wants him to "go with it" already.

10. Rocketeer by Far East Movement ft. Ryan Tedder (Toy Story 3) | lyrics

Buzz's POV. "I will show you the wonders of the galaxy and we will vanquish all evil with our love!" Spanish!Buzz finally makes the move that normal Buzz has been too shy to all of these years. And/or Jessie makes Buzz feel like the rocketeer that he really isn't since he's just a toy.

11. Oh How The Years Go By by Amy Grant (Toy Story 3) lyrics

A sentimental song about how the toys have stuck together throughout all of the years. They've had adventures, they have memories with Andy, etc. So much epicness, tbh. And after it's all said and done, they all have each other for "infinity and beyond." BRB...crying.

This song isn't specific, but just reminds me of The Parr family (and even the friendship with Frozone and Edna Mode). Heck it just makes me think of all of the supers period. You Know You Ship It - A Strange Disney Pairings Picspam

Oh gosh, I made this back in May for disneyverse and never posted it here! Wowzers. Well, here it is now.

Welcome to my picspam. My picspam will take you on a tour of "strange" and random pairings that exist within the Disney fandom. Most, if not all, of these can be found in some manifestation somewhere on the web. You just have to go looking for it. While some of these pairings I have always had a guilty pleasure for in my shipper's heart, a few of them aren't really my cup of tea, BUT I have joked with others about them and really don't have anything against them (and I will defend them in this picspam as though they are my own). Either way, here's a warning: YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO UNSEE ANY OF THESE SHIPS!

Bolt and Mittens from Bolt

We begin our tour with the age-old idea of a forbidden romance between a dog and a cat. They should be enemies, but Bolt and Mittens have a bond stronger than the hatred that runs between their two species. Sure, it starts off rocky - like many good romances do - but their misunderstanding quickly turns into a relationship where the two realize how much they need each other. Are they just friends? Nah, I think romantic feelings were implied. "I may not see in color, BABE..."

Yzma and Kronk from The Emperor's New Groove

Next stop, Cougar Town! Oh please. You can't tell me these two don't have some bizarre thing going on. Whether or not he's too thickheaded to realize it, Kronk is totally Yzma's arm candy. That's what Kuzco means when he says Yzma gets a new one every decade or so. And totally ignoring Kronk's New Groove (although there was serious flirtation there on Yzma's behalf as well) because The Emperor's New School also totally ignored that movie...there were some hints at a strange relationship between them in the series. One particular episode that comes to mind is the one when Yzma and Kronk get into a fight and Yzma kicks Kronk out so he goes to live at Pacha's house. Then Yzma and Kronk had some gushy make up scene. If I remember correctly, my little sister gagged and said eww, whilst my shipper heart beamed.

Ariel and Sebastian from The Little Mermaid

Now if you take a look to your left, you'll see Ariel and Sebastian. While most people looking for an unusual ship from this movie would probably opt for Ariel/Flounder (and yes, it too is out there - in Disney coloring books even...), I'm the one who can't help, but see the bond between Ariel and Sebastian. And while this is born of a mostly platonic shipping of the two, it does have its deeper romantic roots. Age aside, as that has never stopped Disney plotlines before, why shouldn't one ship Ariel and Sebastian? Sebastian really does care for Ariel and always has. They are very alike. I mean, besides their love for music, they are both rebels as was shown in Ariel's Beginning. The fact that Ariel is a mermaid and Sebastian is a crab need not apply seeing as it's a cross species flick to begin with.

Carl and Tallulah from Meet The Robinsons

As the tour continues, we take a trip to the year 2037 where a man and a puppet can have children so why shouldn't one of those children get involved with a robot? Yes, Tallulah Robinson and Carl the robot would be an ideal pair and is very subtly hinted at within the movie. Besides being seen near each other here and there and Tallulah saying Carl's name in great concern when the PB&J maker is not working, the fight against Tiny the dinosaur seems to show how close they are. They fight alongside each other very closely. Tallulah is also the one to realize Tiny has "eaten" Carl and is the first one to jump to save him. Plus, I have a feeling that when Carl points over his shoulder and says, "these skinny limbs don't exactly make the teapot whistle" he is actually pointing to an offscreen Tallulah :D

Bloat and Deb (or is it Flo...) from Finding Nemo

Next up on the tour, we see Bloat and his could-be bipolar love interest Deb, err, Flo, err... This one doesn't go based on much of anything since there's not much interaction from Deb with the other fish. But, Deb is the one who goes and deflates Bloat, so maybe that counts as something, no? ~~And you try coming up with 8 offbeat ships when it's strictly Disney, yo!~~ Actually, I'd say this is the second most normal stop on the tour. They're fish of different genera, but still both fish. And given that mildly stalkerish look on Bloat's face in the first to caps, I think he secretly has a thing for Deb and her reflection. I guess he doesn't have much other choice though if he's a straight fish anyhow, right?* (BECAUSE IF YOU LOOK TO YOUR RIGHT YOU'LL TOTALLY SEE THAT PEACH IS ALREADY TAKEN BY GILL, KTHNX! Yeah, that was a minor derailment from the scheduled tour...) *please don't take that as a hate remark towards gay ppl, kthx.

Tigger and Kanga from The Tigger Movie, Springtime With Roo

As the tour bus turns south, we move on to implanting subliminal messages about bizarre ships into the minds of children everywhere. Isn't it totally obvious Tigger is just using Roo to get to his mom? In The Tigger Movie he totally didn't even think to wait for Roo to come out and play. He was just interested in hittin' on Kanga. He was all like, "Bounce, just bounce, let me see that body bounce." And she was all like, "Denied." But she comes around eventually - at least in the books she does, not that I think Disney will ever explore that storyline. I mean, I don't buy the whole Tigger moves in with Kanga and Roo ONLY as if he's been adopted into the family as Roo's big brother. Yeah, sure, riiiiight. You know that's just to save face because the Hundred Acre Wood isn't into cross-species relationships and intermixed families. That place is so 1770's with its regressive thinking and Kanga and Tigger just want to be together!

Lilo and Stitch from Lilo and Stitch and like two of the other Stitch movies.

As we approach our next stop, as your tour guide I feel I should warn you that often people scream in horror when they see this ship. Yes, it is the intergalatic relationship between Lilo and her alien best friend, Stitch. After all, Stitch isn't a dog. And he's much more a member of the Pelekai family than just a pet. If Stitch is an ever evolving creature, then who's to say we couldn't see some bizarre alien/earthling romance blossom between them in the future? After all, everyone loves a good alien/earthling romance right? And who hasn't seen this BONUS promotional picture Disney has with Lilo kissing Stitch on the cheek? Dude, I'm telling you, Disney is trying to put subliminal messages of strange ships into your head...

Terrence and Silvermist from Tinkerbell and the Lost Treasure

At last we come to the most normal ship on our tour. Something much less offbeat so that you don't question the sanity of your tour guide altogether. While the series has been most definitely been pointing towards Terrence and Tinkerbell (albeit mostly onesided), someone on the writing staff decided to throw this little bomb and disrupt the peace and tranquility of Tink/Terrence shippers everywhere. Oh right...the peace was already meddled with by Tink/Bobble shippers (ship wars!). Anyways, Silvermist comes skipping merrily along and spies (much like a schoolgirl with a secret crush) on Terrence in his rage. What better time to get to Terrence than while he's totally ticked off at Tink!? Of course, Silvermist has to be subtle. She can't let on that she's totally not happy with the way Tinkerbell is treating her could-be man (err...fairy). So, instead she plays the role of a good friend who is there to lend an ear and so on. But deep inside she's totally singing, "If you could see that I'm the one who understands you. Been here all along so why can't you see-ee-ee. You belong with me-ee-ee."

And that concludes the tour. Thank you for choosing The YKYSI Express. All rotten tomato throwers will be dealt with by security when we return to the start of the line. (Seriously, I might be crazy, but I had a blast writing all of this :D) AND HAHAHA! Bounce by the JoBros/Demi Lovato totally just came on in iTunes! Lulz. My iTunes is a Tigger/Kanga shipper ;)

Falling Stars | A Bo and Woody Fanmix

I used to believe in forever, but forever's too good to be true. I've hung a wish on every star. It hasn't done much good so far.

A melancholy duet to set the pace for the rest of the album. Basically, this is a look at Bo and Woody after we realize -thanks to Toy Story 3- that they are apart. They are both in their respective homes, dreaming of being together again. They want nothing more than to find each other, but it doesn't look like it's ever going to happen :(

Eventually you will be gone. I'll always love you, oh, believe it or not. Baby, that's not enough to, not enough to stop these falling stars over your head.

Let's go back into the past, before Bo was taken away from the Davis house. As Molly starts to grow up more noticeably, Woody's fear begins to grow and pessimistic realism begins to set in. He realizes that it's inevitable that Molly will grow out of her need for Bo and he worries what that might mean. He's afraid that Bo will leave and eventually forget him and there's nothing he'll be able to do. But of course, he wants to be strong and forgive her for what's bound to happen, but of course he knows he'll never get over her.

As she tries to adjust to the sudden change, Bo is in so much pain that she begins to wish she had never gotten so close to Woody to begin with. She wishes she could just forget him altogether if it could make everything better, but in the end she fears she'll never manage to get over what she felt for him.

4. Feels Like The End

I don't remember what I've done, done with all the years. I've got no one but myself to ask how did I get here.

I can picture Woody being a bit of a mess following Bo's departure, even if not outwardly. He's depressed and paranoid. He wishes he could go back and change things, maybe find a way to keep Bo with the Davis family. At the same time, I can imagine losing Bo would also make him conscious of the possibility that he'll lose others like Buzz or Jessie or that Andy will finally get rid of them all as well (since I'm guessing Andy was already old enough to have started neglecting his toys by this time).

5. Never Had A Dream Come True

There's no use looking back or wondering how it should be now or might have been. Oh this I know, but still I can't find ways to let you go.

This is from point of views. Another look at them realizing their only dream come true was each other. At this point, they've both tried to move on, but they just can't. Kind of like how Rex pointing out Bo being gone looked like it really struck a raw nerve for Woody in the third film :(

Emo Woody is emo XD This is the "my heart is breaking for Woody" portion of the album. Basically, Woody is coming to grips with how to move on without ever letting go. He's still sad and just wants nothing more than to be with Bo again, but he knows that there's nothing that can be done.

If if I never held you, I would never have a clue how at last I'd find in you the missing part of me.

Bo comes to a point where she really knows that being with Woody is the only place she wants to be, but no matter what she comes to accept that having loved and lost is better to have never loved Woody at all.

And even though I know how very far apart we are, it helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star.

Another beautiful, albeit cliche, duet for our separated toy lovers. This time hope is growing for both of them (because, gosh, I can't take the hopelessness anymore!!) and they think maybe they will find each other again. Or at least, they have the hope that neither of the other has forgotten their love.

9. I Will Not Say Goodbye

I will always see your face in the shadows of this haunted place. I will laugh, I will cry, shake my fist at the sky, but I will not say goodbye.

And we're back to the more "I can't take this, it's all so sad" side of things, lol. Neither Bo or Woody want to forget each other (no matter what I said in previous song commentary...) because they just loved each other too strongly. No matter how much remembering hurts them, they can't let go of one another.

10. I Will Always Be With You

Other memories will fade, but the ones that we made are eternal as the stars, now I'm a part of who you are.

Thank goodness, we're back to a more positive form of melancholy :P Bo and Woody decide that they will always be together even if not physically. Their love and time together was so perfect that it will be a part of them forever, no matter how many new places they end up during their existence as toys.

Imagine with me if you will, had their been a movie all about Bo and Woody and their losing each other prior to Toy Story 3, this is the song I would personally have picked for the credits. Yes, I know there's like 4 other songs on this fanmix from credits that could fit, but this song in my opinion just really sums up their love for each other no matter what. It takes all of the sadness, anger, determination, etc. from all of the previous songs and wraps it up into one final melancholy yet hopeful tune.

And this is the part where I say, every time I watch the film I really do wish Bo would magically appear. I mean...they couldn't have even included something in the credit scenes?? Okay, just had to vent that :)

My Middle Earth Wiki | Lissa (Took) Digswell

The following is a Wiki entry for a character creation of my own for use in the realm of Middle-Earth as created by J.R.R. Tolkien. It is merely for personal purposes and not to be considered an actual character. My character(s), however, does interact with other characters and within story arcs and timelines created by Tolkien and those characters and story arcs are depicted here as best as thorough study allows. There may be some discrepancies here and there for which I did not intend. I do not claim ownership of anything that does not come from my own imagination, nor do I intend to profit from those things that are from my imagination.

Lissa (Took) Digswell (SR 1467 - 1560) is the only living child of Faramir Took I and Goldilocks (Gardner) Took, making her the granddaughter of both Peregrin Took and Samwise Gamgee of the legendary fellowship.

Raised in Tuckborough, her father became Thain when she was 17. She had a younger brother, Faramir Took II, but he was a sickly baby who did not live beyond three months. This had a great impact on Goldilocks and it soon became apparent she would bear no more children. Upon this, speculation quickly spread through the Shire about what clan would take the Thainship next –since it the only child was a female- and throughout her young life, many of the clans schemed for one of their sons to marry Lissa.

Lissa also spent part of her life in Gondor during the War of the Shire. After the war, she was given the title and newly appointed office of Princess of the Halflings. When she returned to the Shire, she married Rego Digswell, Archer of Hardbottle. Two years later, Faramir I retired and the Thainship passed to the Digswell clan. Lissa served alongside her husband as Princess of the Halflings until her death in SR 1560 at the age of 93.

Characteristics
Lissa is of moderately fair complexion and has golden hair which she usually keeps piled in ringlets atop her head. She secretly envies Men and Elves whose women have long, straight, flowing hair, but never speaks of her envy. Her beauty nearly rivals that of her aunt Elanor the Fair and is heightened by her great poise. On the other hand, she is also very down to earth: playing in the fields, gardening, helping others when she’s called upon and so on which lends to her an even greater admiration than just mere beauty and poise. However, she does have a temper and although she is good at keeping it in check, it does show itself at times. Furthermore, her privileged life (being the granddaughter of both Mayor and Thain) and the constant admiration from others lends her a vanity that she refuses to admit, as she is convinced she is above being vain. In simple terms, she is a perfectionist by nature and does not wish to show any weaknesses, but that is not to say she is not a genuinely kind-hearted person, simply misguided in some of her efforts and displays.

She is greatly loved for her positive traits and many of the Hobbits take to calling her a Hobbit princess if ever there could be one. She is fond of her nickname because of her love for the tales and songs of romance her grandfathers shared with her of King Elessar and Queen Arwen and Lord Faramir and Lady Eowyn. In her mind, the greatest romances are of royalty. She also knows that her father was named after the Prince of Ithilien and this also lends a feeling of being almost royal by association. Of course, she keeps all of this to herself so not to offend anyone or seem foolish – harking back to her struggle with vanity.

Growing up, she hears stories from her grandfathers about Middle Earth. She is especially attached to the stories her grandfather Pippin tells her about Gondor. She is intrigued by the histories of the Kingdom of Arnor and the Shire’s place in that history. Thus, between her two grandfathers, especially Sam who was already learned before the Fellowship’s journey, Lissa becomes very educated. Reading works of various sorts, writing verses and being quick to learn something new whenever possible are just a few of the many things Lissa enjoys in life.
However, for all of her love of Middle Earth and what lies beyond her home, she does not initially wish to leave the Shire. The thought occurs to her on occasion, but often she represses it believing that her place is in the Shire alone. After all, other Hobbits would not love her nearly so much if she did not know her place.

Childhood
Lissa did not enjoy being an only child for many reasons. It was very lonely at times when she saw others who had at least one sibling or when she thought of her lost brother. There was also the gossip that didn’t escape her ears about how she was not a boy, how that meant she was the undoing of her father’s line, etc. However, her family did the best to protect her from the unintentionally cruel gossip and she was never lonely for too long. She was doted upon by her many aunts and uncles, Elanor being the most fond of the child for their close resemblance. Elanor’s daughter Fíriel, also quite fair like her mother only with darker hair, was Lissa’s closest playmate and confidant despite her cousin being six years older. The two explored the Shire together, stopping here and there to lend a hand (usually Lissa’s idea) as they went. Fíriel (being a Fairbairn) was more openly vain than Lissa which perhaps had an effect on her growing up for good and bad both.

Fíriel was present when Lissa first met Rego Digswell during a visit to the Bracegirdles in Hardbottle. Lissa was 8, he was 11 and Fíriel was 14 at the time. Rego was attempting to show off his skills with his newly received bow in front of the kids of the Northfarthing, but missed his mark when turning to see the two girls joining the other onlookers. The others teased him, while Lissa made the mistake of pitying him. It injured his pride and after a brief argument, Lissa and Fíriel left. Future run-ins with Rego (though very few) never ended too pleasantly either. Fíriel would endlessly giggle and say, “He must be in love with you” much to Lissa’s annoyance.

As a girl, Lissa was very close with her grandparents on both sides. She was close to Sam because of their shared love of gardening and he taught her everything he could. He and Rosie were the first Lissa ever went to when feeling scared, confused, etc. because of their nurturing personalities. She was close to Pippin because of their shared love of adventure and she would spend hours listening to his stories. He and Diamond instilled individuality and self-worth into her at a young age (and perhaps to a degree were influential in her faults). Living with her parents in Pippin and Diamond’s home, Lissa was slightly closer to Pippin and Diamond for the simple fact that she saw them all the time. She was also closer to Pippin than any of her grandparents because she had him in her life nearly three years longer. Diamond passed when she was 14 and Rosie passed and Sam left when she was 15. When Pippin retired and prepared to leave the Shire, he left her his troll-bane barrow-blade.

Fleeing the Shire
In the year 69 (SR 1490), Bounders along the Northfarthing border detected an oncoming army of Easterlings. After a short skirmish, 26 year old Rego Digswell, Archer of Hardbottle (now a young Bounder) was sent to Faramir I to warn him of the dilemma and seek counsel. As Thain, Faramir I decided to increase the number of Bounders along all borders. With the kingdom of Arnor restored, he decided he must also report the problem to King Elessar. Rego, desiring adventure worthy of his might, requested the job of trekking to Minis Tirith to which the Thain only agreed on the condition of taking Lissa (23 years old at the time) with him. Fearing the worst and knowing of his father’s close friendship with the men of Gondor, he believed his daughter would at least be welcomed and kept safe there. Lissa protested at first, not liking the idea of fleeing to safety when others were left in danger, nor liking her escort. However, urged by her parents and her secret desire to see the white halls of Minis Tirith suddenly stronger than ever before, Lissa conceded and she and Rego set out for the Gap of Rohan.

During their journey, Lissa continued to butt heads with Rego as before. Lissa quickly realized her temper, when around him, was much worse than she ever imagined. Equally stubborn and prideful, Rego at last went too far and insulted her by saying she was too perfect and thus hardly fitting to be called a Hobbit let alone a princess of their race (insinuating that Hobbits embrace their faults and don’t exalt themselves by covering them up). Upon this, Lissa quickly drew her grandfather’s barrow-blade and nearly smote Rego in a fit of anger. It was a turning point for her. Lissa understood that she had been denying her secret vanities, thus the reason for her anger when said vanities were insulted. Ashamed by her action, since Hobbits are never the type to harm one another, Lissa fled into the woods. Yet, her brash behavior had invoked an understanding of himself in Rego as well and he chased after her. Realizing their follies and apologizing for having ever insulted one another intentionally or unintentionally, they both came to an understanding and agreed to start fresh. Soon after, both secretly began to realize the attraction between them, perhaps having always been there and therefore an added friction to their previous feuds.

In Edoras, they learned that King Elessar and King Elfwine (Eomer’s son) had been fighting Easterlings along their borders as well [part of King Elessar’s campaign to restore Gondor’s hold of lost territories such as Rhûn]. Eldarion (Aragorn’s son) and Elboron (Faramir’s son) were in Edoras discussing what to be done next in the campaign against the Easterlings. Thus, with news from Lissa and Rego of the Easterlings in the Shire, they immediately brought the two back with them to Minis Tirith. King Elessar decided troops should be sent to every front and Rego went into battle with them in the war against the Easterlings.

Time in Gondor
Staying in Minis Tirith, Lissa was gladly welcomed by Queen Arwen and surprised to find her grandfather Pippin still alive, albeit diminishing among the White Halls [Merry had probably already passed at this point in time as the dates are unclear – even Pippin’s year of death is not set in stone to my knowledge]. During the war, she quickly befriended Aragorn and Arwen’s daughters. She learned much of the ways of Elves and Men while with them. She also became skilled in the art of healing, taught by Eowyn and other healers as she cared for her dying grandfather in the Houses of Healing until his passing nearly a year later. Her love for healing remained with her throughout her life and was her greatest joy shared only with gardening and raising a family.

In the year 72, the Easterlings were finally defeated as they fled, scattered and in too small of numbers to continue their attacks. Eldarion and Elboron returned home to Gondor, bearing a wounded Rego with them. He was wounded when he saved Eldarion’s life. Lissa tended to him in the Houses of Healing, as well as the other patients who returned from battle. For his deed, King Elessar privately asked Rego what he would have as a token of gratitude, to which Rego responded, “That Lissa Took, daughter of Faramir Took I, Thain of the Shire and as good a Thain as his namesake would have him be, would be given the title Princess of the Halflings.” Curious of such a bold request, Aragorn asked the same question of Lissa in private to which she responded, “That the Archer of Hardbottle never be without a bow worthy of his skill.” It was a moment that proved not only the growth of their love for one another, but the growth of their personalities during the war.

Thus, King Elessar granted both requests. Rego was made a Knight of Gondor, fitted with an outfit of Eldarion’s youth and a new bow. Then, much to Lissa’s surprise, King Elessar declared that she would be known as Princess of the Halflings. He also wrote into law that all females in the Thain line would be known as Princess from that moment on. Furthermore, when a Thain passed the Princess would remain in office taking over all duties of the Thain and not forfeit the position to a son or male relative until death or abdication (abdication by a living Thain, however, nulls both parties from office and it passes on to son or male relative).

Both in love with the country and Rego still regaining his full strength, Lissa and Rego remained in Gondor for two and a half more years. During this time, their love for one another deepened and in FO 74 they were betrothed in the eyes of King Elessar and Queen Arwen. In FO 75 they finally departed. Before leaving, Lissa was bestowed with bridal gifts from Arwen and her daughters. Also, Rego swore a bond with Eldarion and Elboron that the three houses would be like one so long as they stood.

Further History
The year following their return to the Shire, SR 1500, Lissa married Rego, becoming Lissa Digswell, Princess of the Halflings. The two debated extensively on where to settle down as neither Hardbottle nor Tuckborough felt appropriate and eventually settled on Hobbiton, nearer to Bywater. Two years later, their first son, Elthain was born.

In the same year of Elthain's birth, tired from wounds sustained during the battle of the Shire, Faramir Took I retired from his Thainship. Rego became Thain by marriage; thus, the Thainship passed from the Tooks to the Digswells and Hobbiton became the new seat of the Thains.

Still slightly haunted by the death of her brother and having been an only child, Lissa decided she would have a large family. She eventually had 7 children and named them based on her love for Men and Elves: Elthain, Fíriel, Merileth, Eldarion and Elboron (twins), Mirwen, and Celebeth. She, Rego and their children often visited Gondor and the children became wiser than their peers as they were educated during their visits in the skills of battle, healing, other languages, etc. The sons were even given ranks in the Gondorian army at a young age.

Lissa served as first Princess of the Halflings, spending her days as healer, gardener, mother and grandmother until her death in SR 1560 at the age of 93.

Tawni and Nico Ship Manifesto (Sonny With A Chance)

Introduction
99.9 percent of everyone who watches Sonny With A Chance on the Disney Channel ships Chad and Sonny (Channy).

Okay, so that might not be an official number, but it is something that totally irks me. After all, where is the fun in shipping a pairing that is practically set in stone? Not to say I don’t love me some Channy by any means. However, there are so many fans of the show who I’ve talked to who have said they would stop watching the show if Channy never happened. That is what irks me about it.

So, here I come bearing a different pairing to distract from the Channy overload. It’s called Tawnico (or Taco by some). It is the pairing of So Random’s Tawni Hart and Nico Harris.

It is my official OTP ship of the series. While I ship almost EVERY non-slash pairing that is to be had on the show (I’m talking Chawni, Gracy, Chortlyn, Gora you name it!), Tawnico is the one where everything seems to make sense. Yes, even more sense – in my shipper heart – than Channy.

Characters

Tawni
Tawni Hart is So Random’s resident celebutante. She has been acting since her first diaper commercial. Daughter of Tammy Hart - who is also her agent, Tawni doesn’t seem to fall very far from the fake blonde, fame obsessed, shop-til-you-drop diva tree. (No father has yet been mentioned.)

However, don’t let her fool you. Tawni is a very complex person. Sometimes she is completely clueless as can be seen by her “Rubber pencil!” moment in Sonny: So Far and other times she can be a quick thinker such as can be seen when she goes in the opposite direction just to be the first one out of the musical chairs contest in Sonny at the Falls or when she clearly realizes along with Nico and Zora that the cafeteria lady spit in their food in Falling for the Falls Pt. 2. She also has an unbridled temper as can be seen in Fast Friends, With a Chance of Dating, The Legend of Candy Face and Gummy with a Chance. She is far from being patient or naturally friendly, but below the surface we do see glimpses of where she wants to be, but simply doesn’t know how.

More than anything, she isn’t the one-dimensional, it’s all about me persona she puts on. There is definitely a reason behind the way she acts and it’s not just overconfidence or a spoiled ego (although she does have those moments as well). In fact, it’s quite the opposite. Tawni is probably the most insecure character of the series. Her long-standing jealousy of Sonny is the most blatant manifestation of this insecurity. Other moments that prove her inner struggle with needing to be accepted come in Sonny at the Falls when she wants to prove her steak-worthiness, Sonny in the Kitchen with Dinner when she tries to be what Hayden wants, and Cookie Monster when she is willing to even accept a bet which would keep her from looking in a mirror. Tawni Hart seems to be out to prove something to someone, maybe herself.

Nico
Nico Harris is So Random’s resident cool man. While we can’t be certain, he has also seemingly been in the business for a long time as he even had his own one man show at one point. He is the son of a lawyer father, as indicated in Tales From the Prop House, but we don’t know what his mom does (although he mentioned he had parents –emphasis on the plural– in Falling for the Falls Pt. 1).

Nico is possibly the least complex main character on the show. He is cynical, likes to chase the ladies, is brutally honest, and is all around whatever he wants to be given the situation. Sometimes he can be downright vicious as can be seen in The Heartbreak Kids when he cuts Tawni off rudely for no reason. And other times he can be a genuinely sweet guy like he is in With a Chance of Dating when he is quick to look at Grady and then stand up to James on the girls’ behalf. Then, of course, he can be anything else from a goofball to a slight chauvinist. You might think this would make him a complex character, but so far he has proven very unwavering in his characteristics. It’s pretty easy to predict how he will react to something.

Unlike Tawni, Nico is far from being insecure. If anyone could be accused of being overly -confident, it’s definitely him. After all, he doesn’t seem to have a great rep with the ladies and he isn’t always an Einstein. Yet, he never seems to get distracted by this. He continually sees himself as pretty awesome. If it weren’t for their rivalry –and their conflicting egos– he would probably actually get along quite well with Chad Dylan Cooper (think Starstruck transposed to the Sonny universe).

Relationship

Tawni and Nico have a very rocky coexistence on and off the set of So Random.
They have moments where they seem to be right in sync with one another. For example, they are both on the same page throughout most of Sonny and the Studio Brat. Also, many times you can see them in their own conversation bubble:

However, for the most part, Nico and Tawni seem to get underneath one another’s skin in a way that is only rivaled by Channy (but, of course, not as mainstreamed as the Channy friction since they aren’t main characters). While Chad and Sonny are more of a simple case of opposites attract, Tawni and Nico are an unstable case of being very much alike one minute and very much opposite the next. This makes it hard to pinpoint what exactly causes their friction. But if I had to guess, a very simple way of putting it would be: everything about Nico is outside of Tawni’s comfort zone. It’s not about him being out of her league, even if that would seem like the case. Nico “gets” Tawni and that’s not a safe place for little miss “confident” to be.

For example, Nico is often the first one to undermine what Tawni has to say. In Prank’d, Tawni believes there might be hidden cameras in the napkin dispenser, but Nico immediately shoots down that idea – ironically, before then believing it’s in a guy’s burrito. In The Heartbreak Kids, Nico gets short with Tawni when they are rehearsing Scotland’s Top Model and Tawni is trying to prove she knows people just as well as Sonny. And in Sketchy Beginnings, it is Nico who attempts to clue Tawni in that she’s not the only one on the cover of the magazine. Thus, it’s no wonder Tawni hasn’t gotten closer to Nico. He’s not someone who will let her go about being a high and mighty diva…without purpose.

I say without purpose because Nico DOES give Tawni ego boosts when she needs them most. In Cookie Monsters he realizes Tawni just needs to be left alone with her mirror. In Sonny in the Kitchen with Dinner, he lets Tawni know that it’s not her that causes Hayden to get sick, but that he thinks it’s the sandwiches. In Battle of the Network Stars, he calls Tawni the “real deal” (something she is more appreciative of than Grady’s saying she is way out of their league).
So, it seems that they equally want to get along, but Tawni doesn’t want to break down her defenses and Nico is too busy being, well, an overly-confident, girl-chasing, mind-speaker to pursue her. So, instead we get a relationship that is much like a Rubik cube.

Reasons

So why do I ship them if they seem so unstable? Because instability leads to sparks in the shipping universe. I see an undeniable chemistry between them. And they complement each other very well. Nico naturally resonates the confidence Tawni tries her hardest to resonate too. Tawni knows exactly how to handle Nico and Nico knows exactly how to handle Tawni. Tawni’s fake ego needs chipping away at in an matter-of-fact manner that Nico can provide and Nico’s chauvinistic ways need subduing by a girl like Tawni who can be everything he’s been chasing after and then some. If you look at it another way, Tawni is Nico’s Chad and Nico is Tawni’s Sonny. That is to say, it’s Chad/Sonny meets Nico/Tawni with the roles reversed (while, I suppose, throwing in some of the aspects of the slasher ships – mainly Sonny/Tawni).

But, honestly, it’s moments in episodes like Cookie Monsters, where Nico is the one to show Tawni her reflection, where he too admires himself too much in the mirror, where he understands Tawni just needs to be left alone with her reflection, etc. which drives me to want these two together. That, and they look great together – which is something I think maybe the director, writers, etc. have noticed since often you see them standing beside each other and they are almost ALWAYS sitting next to each other in the commissary.

So, hopefully with moments in season 2 like Nico staring at Tawni’s butt or them working together to prank Chad (a nice flip on Prank’d where Nico seemed pretty enraged that Tawni would work with Chad on a prank), we may just get to see a Tawnico plot unfold. Then again, even if we never do, they will remain my Sonny With A Chance OTP. Maybe you should give them a try too!

Muchness & Madness | A Halice Fanmix

This is an entry for a fanmix challenge over at disney_uberland. Surprise, surprise, I picked Tarrant and Alice for my first mix (which may make it very difficult when voting comes if no one understands my explanations because they haven't seen the film...) This was actually much harder than I thought it would be. Not because I couldn't find appropriate songs, but because EVERY SONG seemed appropriate!! I'm in that obsessive mode where every song seems to have at least one line that reminds me of Tarrant/Alice whether in the movie or in fanfiction I've read or inspires me of how it could fit their relationship for fanvideos/fanfiction/etc. SOOOO, I had to really curb my enthusiasm by A LOT.

On the one hand, Tarrant is a bit of a manic like the lyrics state and he's waiting for a savior to come and make things right for him again (destroy the Red Queen's reign, restore some sort of sanity to him, etc.). That's what Alice does for him throughout the film. On the other hand, Alice returns to Underland and is in complete denial that it could be anything but a dream (although the pinching she was taught as a kid doesn't work) and she needs a savior to believe in her and remind her of her muchness. That's what Tarrant does for her throughout the film.

Alice has to come to grips with the fact that she is the Champion, that Underland is real, that she has to find her muchness again and so on. Even when she doubts that everything around her is real (and even when most everyone else doubts she could be the right Alice), Tarrant doesn't doubt her. He killed Time waiting for her arrival (Time held its breath) and he is a driving force in Alice finding her muchness again.

Let's face it. The Hatter is, well, Mad! Throughout the film, it seems pretty obvious he's just looking for sanity and that, inside him somewhere, he knows that Alice is that sanity. For example, when he goes to tell her how happy he is to see her again especially since she's her right size again (for anyone who missed it - Tarrant is talking about the fact that had they been height compatible in the Red Queen's dressing room, they could have kissed) confusion grips him and it ruins the moment. Furthermore, throughout the movie, Tarrant also seems to be trying to get Alice to realize she's not dreaming -or more importantly- that he IS real. That's what he most likely means when he says "That would mean I'm not real." He seems pretty bent on trying to say anything get her to realize how much he needs her (possibly what it means when he grasps as straws and says, "Yes, yes, but you would have to be half mad to dream me up.")

When it comes down to it, Alice IS the Champion that the Oraculum foretold. However, she would have never become the Champion without Tarrant. He saved her from the Knave multiple times, she went to save him from the Red Queen but it was because she actually had to be there to retrieve the Vorpal Sword, he stabbed the tail of the Jabberwocky for her and so on. Simply put, Tarrant and Alice's destinies are intertwined. It's only together that they can find victory on the Frabjous Day.

Alice's face after Tarrant tells her Fairfarren is one of pure confusion. In this one moment it's as though Alice realizes she's about to lose everything she needs, wants, loves, etc. Within a blink (of Tarrant's eye I suppose since that turns into the hole), Alice is back in London and from the way she looks at the Ascot home off in the distance and then sighs, it seems as though she might even regret her decision even if she must now live with it. So this song is about Alice wondering what she has done and if there's anything that can make it right again.

This is a possible look at Tarrant's life after Alice leaves. It's clear he was heartbroken when Alice drank the Jabberwocky blood. He killed Time for her once so would he do it again? He said she wouldn't remember so maybe he's afraid he doesn't even deserve her. But no matter what, I'm convinced Tarrant's life in Underland could never be complete without Alice and he would go on missing her and wishing to see her. So maybe he would even wish he could fall into the sky (to get to Upland as opposed to Alice falling down a hole to get to Underland) in order to find her. Who knows, but I think this song really shows us a lot of possibilities.

Continuing with the Tarrant angst theme, I just have to touch on the fact that Tarrant let Alice go. He didn't beg her to stay, only suggested. And she promised she would return, so perhaps he would cling to that promise (like he did for all those years before when he killed Time). I honestly think Tarrant would wait forever and a day waiting for Alice - even if she never did find her way back. He is just that devoted.

Now back over to Alice's point of view on the separation. She not only promised she would return, she also said she could never forget Tarrant. So, we don't know how long it might take for her to get back, but until that day, I think Alice would always remember Tarrant and maybe that would be the thing constantly driving her back to Underland. I can imagine her picturing him in random people she meets on her travels with her father's business, or remembering how they are each other's Champions, etc. And even when it's hard to remember (since the first adventure had eventually turned into dreams), this time Alice would be determined to hold on to her memory. Tarrant might have said Fairfarren, but Alice did not.

Then, of course, there's always the possibility that Alice will never return. (Wah! I feel like this fanmix has taken a bitter turn!) Perhaps she's not meant to go back. Perhaps something will keep her from making it back (you never know...). But I think even if that's the case, it will never be because she's forgotten. The memories will always haunt her (like they did when she was a child). I think that since Alice remembered Absolem, it's a sign that she remembers Underland in general. Thus, if Tarrant and Alice are never meant to physically be together, I'm certain they would keep loving each other despite the distance. (Okay, that's it, I'm going to have to go read some happy fanfiction before I start balling my eyes out. Why did she have to leave Underland. Why!? WHY!!?)

And I close this fanmix off with a song that I can picture as a sort of theme song for the uncertainty aspect of Tarrant and Alice's relationship. No matter when our ships don't come to fruition, it's never really the end. I'm convinced that Alice and Tarrant were meant to be just like many are convinced that Peter Pan and Wendy were meant to be, which makes this a great parallel. No matter what happens, both characters will turn out fine in the end. But, of course, that doesn't mean to say that the place they both belong isn't with each other. In fact, to quote the lyrics of this song even further than above's excerpt: Maybe you were just afraid, knowing you were miles away from the place where you needed to be. And that's right here with me. I think that beautifully sums up how Tarrant and Alice's lives may go on, but would never ever be complete without one another (An in movie example would be how nothing in Alice's life seemed right before she made her second journey to Underland.)

So there you have it. Ten songs which make me think of Tarrant and Alice whenever I listen to them. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go watch a movie like Anastasia where the couple gets together so I can squeal with joy and not ache with longing.

Alice and Tarrant Ship Manifesto (Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland)

This is an overachieving entry for one of the latest challenges at disney_uberland. It was supposed to be a short manifesto, but uh, I just couldn't help myself. So much of my love (but not even all of it for there is so much more to say) for Alice/Tarrant came gushing out. So, I've decided to also use this as a rough draft, starting point, or even final copy (haven't decided yet) over at ship_manifesto if I can get the claim. Anyways, this has many pics and many, many words, so proceed at your own risk.

Introduction
Sometimes there are ships which defy all logic and are nonsensical. They transcend all time and translation. Or, in the case of Alice Kingsleigh and Tarrant Hightopp of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, Time is killed altogether so that the ship can have a chance! Welcome to the ship that is Hatter/Alice (or Halice).

A Little History Behind Them
The idea of shipping Alice and the Mad Hatter is most indeed one that is curiouser and curiouser. But, whether many would probably admit it, I’m convinced there has always been some tantalizing siren call when it comes to these two. How it ever came to this, I cannot even begin to know. Still, if I was to venture a guess, despite all reason, I would put a majority of the blame on the original Disney animated classic.

Many might argue that it is impossible for it to be that version (seeing as it’s so not normal to think of pairing a young girl with a frumpy old man), but hear me out. It is the version most people have been most familiar with up until the past year. Furthermore, it is my firm belief that Disney is a very sneaky corporation full of very sneaky writers, artists, etc. After all, Disney doesn’t have its own collection of urban legends (which grows vaster every year) for no reason!! And one of the sneaky things I have always noticed about Disney is its longstanding relationship with the subject of romance. Ever since Dopey’s silly infatuation with Snow White, Disney has always hinted at seemingly romantic pairings beyond those of canon (usually beyond the norm – Ray and a star, for example – and, honestly, beyond the innocence you would expect from the company – Jafar/Jasmine anyone??)

So, why else would Disney perpetually use Mad Hatter and Alice (usually together) as the staple in advertisement for their animated movie? After all, the mad tea party is only an 8-9 minute portion of the film. Yet, some of the most familiar images we so often see in some form or fashion are of the two:

And that’s not even including the theme park!! According to Heather Hust Rivera, the manager of print and social media at Disneyland Resort, the Alice characters “are arguably some of the most famous and adored at Disney parks around the world.”

Not to mention the many cast members who act as these two characters are allowed to do off the wall things despite such acts possibly lending to the belief that Alice and Mad Hatter really are a little more than friends, or at least would like to be. I suggest taking a look at bri_chan's brilliant Disneyparks’ Alice/Hatter ship manifesto for a detailed look at how the Disneyparks’ Alice and Hatter really have helped in Disney’s mission to plant shipping notions into our brains over the years.

So, after years of subliminal, “you know you ship it” messages from sneaky, sneaky Disney, it’s no wonder SyFy’s Alice was poised to be a hit last year, becoming the first adaptation (to my knowledge) to successfully recreate the roles of Alice and Hatter so that not only was there full blown romance, but also a mass appeal of that romance.

Here enter the characters as adapted by Linda Woolverton. They are truly unique from any other adaptation, but I felt it necessary to briefly outline the above points for the purpose of showing what I believe lent to the massive explosion of this pairing practically from the moment the movie premiered. Would the fandom have still exploded? Yes, I’m certain it would have grown because these characters in this particular adaptation are perfectly suited to most shipper hearts everywhere. I simply feel the lack of Hatter/Alice in the more traditional setting – as opposed to the modern setting of SyFy’s Alice – definitely helped things along much quicker, because let’s face it, Disney has been setting this up for decades...but only a few of us realized it.

The Characters as Individuals

Alice
Alice Kingsleigh (or Kingsley: the variation spelling) is the daughter of Charles and Helen Kingsleigh. She was born in 1846 and resides in London as a part of, presumably, the upper middle class thanks to Charles’ highly successful business endeavors as the owner of a trading company. She has an older sister, Margaret who grows up to marry Lowell Manchester, who is seemingly unfaithful to Margaret behind her back (although we can’t be certain if his actions have ever gone beyond kissing other women). Some short time before the start of the film, we can’t be sure exactly when, Charles Kingsleigh passes away, and Lord Ascot purchases the trading company.

When Alice was 6 years old, she travelled to Underland, which she called Wonderland. During this trip, she had a mad tea party with The Hatter, the March Hare named Thackery and the door mouse named Mallymkun. She also painted the Red Queen’s white roses red. (Basically, we are to assume that Alice’s first trip to Underland was very much what we know it to be from other adaptations including the books, that is a series of unrelated ventures through this hidden world.) However, upon returning from Underland, the events were as nothing but a dream to Alice (as it is in the Disney animated version). After her return, Alice continues to have the same dream over and over again every night about some of the characters she had met in Underland (but we are left uncertain if she ever dreamed of Tarrant). Over the course of three years following her trip, these dreams turn into something more like nightmares and she fears, since it’s always the same, that she’s gone mad. Charles then teaches her a valuable lesson: all the best people are mad (this is almost like a foreshadowing in itself that she will find someone someday and he will be mad, but he will be best for her because of it). From this point on, we are to assume Alice grows up plagued by the same dream/nightmare and gets very little sleep due to continually pinching herself.

Alice grows up to be very much a woman ahead of the Victorian era she was born into. She does not care for stockings, corsets or rules and proprieties. When Alice is 19, she is proposed to by Lord Ascot’s son, Hamish in front of an entire party of guests. Conflicted with the many expectations as well as her own feelings –or lack thereof–for the man, Alice clearly sees the white rabbit, Nivens McTwisp, in his blue waistcoat with his pocket watch, and declares, “I need a moment!” before chasing after the creature. From here, she eventually falls back down the rabbit hole and into another “dream.”

Once she is in Underland again, she learns the Oraculum foretells that she will slay the dreaded Jabberwocky with the Vorpal Sword. She is the only one who can free the world from the rule of the Red Queen, Iracebeth and restore the White Queen, Mirana to the throne. Originally denying that everything is anything more than a dream, many events happen before Alice finally realizes Underland is real (her past dreams had been memories). Thus, she becomes the Champion the Oraculum foretold and sets things right. Alice then opts to leave Underland, though promising she will be back, and returns to the still-going party to tell everyone exactly what she learned in her latest “dream.” This includes, but is not limited to, her denying Hamish’s proposal and joining her late father’s business as Lord Ascot’s apprentice. The last we are able to know about Alice’s life is that six months after her returning from Underland the second time, Alice sets sail for the Orient to establish trade on behalf of the company. We can’t be certain she ever does keep her promise to go back to Underland, but she does seem to remember since she recalls Absolem by name.

Personality wise, Alice is very complex. Growing up, she fears she is mad. However, she never does anything to fit in or prove she isn’t. She continually thinks and says odd things. She is easily distracted and prone to flights of fancy. She starts out very insecure of her own thoughts and feelings. Although she knows she is different from everyone around her and strives to maintain her individuality, Alice also feels the pressures of the life she was born into. For example, she doesn’t refuse to dance with Hamish despite her disdain for the Quadrille. She also doesn’t have the courage at first to refuse Hamish’s proposal, although it is clear she doesn’t like the idea of being married to the young Lord. However, when she reaches Underland, Alice begins to change and we start to see her for whom she really is: strong, kindhearted, stubborn, a bit on the irrational side, outgoing, and possibly even half-mad (at least at times) just to name a very few layers. In the end, she is very much a masculine female (masculine in the sense of compared to other women of that time, not gender preference). This is hinted at by the fact that in Underland she opts to wear pants at Marmoreal, her fulfilling the prophecies as Champion – which was originally expected of a man, and when returning to London she chooses to take on a career.

At the heart of Alice’s complex character is her father. Thus, I feel the relationship should be briefly examined. Much of what has shaped Alice are the words her father said, such as believing in six impossible things before breakfast. Even their scene about being mad paints a very vivid portrait of their relationship. Charles could have easily reassured her that she wasn’t mad. That would be the normal thing for a loving father to do. Instead, he was telling her that he believed in her no matter what, even if she should really be mad. This strong bond between them (it is clear Alice is very much like her father), of course, is broken when Charles passes. So, it is no wonder Alice would feel confused by the world around her without him or know how to just be herself without his reassuring her. She is suddenly all alone with no one left to believe in her for who she is.

Tarrant
Tarrant Hightopp is the last remaining member of the Hightopp Clan. The Hightopp Clan consisted of humans who resided in Witzend. We can’t be certain how they came to be in Underland or if they’ve always been there. All we know is that the Hightopp Clan were all milliners by trade and one was always employed at royal court. Before the Horunvendush Day, Tarrant was the one employed at court, as hatter to the White Queen. At that time, Tarrant’s hair had only just begun to turn orange (a child is briefly shown with dark hair, insinuating orange is most likely not the natural hair color of Hightopp Clan members) from mercury poisoning. It was long and wavy, not the short frizz it has become. His face was not as pale, nor did he wear make-up of any kind. In fact, it is quite possible that the madness from the mercury poisoning led to Tarrant’s applying make-up, but I will touch more on that later. It is unclear how old Tarrant was at the time, but it is clear he was much younger (as implied by his features). My personal guess is he was in his 20’s (since I think this allows enough time for his appearance to have changed drastically to what it was when Alice made her first trip).

On the Horunvendush Day, the Red Queen’s Jabberwocky swooped in and destroyed everyone of the Hightopp Clan with the exception of Tarrant. He managed to escape because, as Royal Hatter, his duty was first to Mirana and, thus, in making sure she was safe, he managed to get to safety as well. He returned later to the burning ruins and was only able to retrieve a single hat – the iconic top hat he almost always wears. Tarrant’s deep loss has contributed greatly to his purpose in life. He is very passionate about the cause: Downal wyth Bluddy Behg Hid (Down with the bloody big head). In fact, he is very much the leader of the Underground Resistance as was directly stated in the first draft of the script and only implied in the film. It is evidenced by his speech to Alice about what the Red Queen has done that Tarrant is vengeful in his quest to see Iracebeth brought down.

It can also be safely assumed that this deep loss has contributed to his slow descent into madness. This is evidenced by Tarrant’s very rocky relationship with the Chesire Cat. He blames Chessur for not having done anything courageous on the Horunvendush Day (in the first draft, it is clearly stated that Chessur vanished at the very beginning of the Jabberwocky’s assault). This also implies that Tarrant’s madness drives him to relate Chessur’s cowardice with the loss of his family. While it isn’t rational, that’s the point! It proves Tarrant has not let go of the past and just the very thought of the past sends him into a fit of madness.

So, this seems like a good moment to directly address the Mad behind the Hatter. Before going any further, you must throw out all thoughts of a Mad Hatter who is simply, utterly mad for no reason or of a Mad Hatter who is mad nearly 24/7. You see, Tarrant Hightopp is only half-mad. He is going mad, but not quite gone. Actually, he is quite sane!! That is, he is sane when he has a hold of himself. For example: he is able to stand up to the Red Queen, he is able to see the imposters in the Red Queen’s royal court for who they are, he is able to hatch a plan with Chessur to escape, he is quick to figure out how to get Alice to safety (throwing her on his hat and then giving himself up), and so the list goes on and on. Furthermore, Tarrant seems to have two brands of madness.

First, there is the madness which sometimes broils up from within him when something angers him or when he becomes panicked. It is a manic aggression that causes his eyes to change from their usual green to a fiery orange as he looks for anything he can take this rage out on. His rage causes him to nearly kill the Knave, proving he could actually be dangerous if not kept in check (in this case, he sees Alice standing in victory which brings him back to his senses). It is my firm belief that this is the madness that comes from his troubled soul. The very fact that he refuses to Futterwacken (a dance of unbridled joy) until Mirana is queen again seems to serve as proof that so long as the Red Queen reigns, he will not be able to find peace. It is this bitterness that always incites his fits of terrifying madness in the movie. Second, there is the general madness. I tend to call it a giddy madness. For, even though he lives in half-madness at all times, it only seems to become predominant when he becomes excited about something. When this madness strikes, he becomes ridiculously silly (although it can wander towards anger if he allows it). With a suddenly very definitive lisp, he spouts off random things such as calling Alice a him or asking why a raven is like a writing desk. There are still touches of sanity when this madness takes over, it is just very much like he transforms into a child with a short attention span. This, in my opinion, is the madness of the mercury poisoning.

In fact, all of Tarrant’s existence will be forever marked with madness from the mercury poisoning. Symptoms of mercury poisoning (aside from hair turning to an orange color) include timidity, insecurity, and anxiety. This fits the description of Tarrant’s general, half-mad character as well as the moments when he becomes ridiculously mad as explained above. His lisp portrays his timidity, the random riddles express his anxiety and his stuttering and rambling indicate his insecurity. It also presents a very strong theory as to why he now wears make-up. Since mercury poisoning strips one of almost all confidence over time, this extreme timidity could lead to a very sensitive, even overly-feminine man. Another symptom of mercury poisoning is that the timidity leads to one actually wanting to hide away. It is also possible that Tarrant is attempting to cover his face in hopes of being ignored. Is it rational, seeing as it would actually lead to people paying more attention to him? No, but that’s the point!

When sane, Tarrant is strong, brave, devoted, trusting, amusing, clever, learned, optimistic, and caring. After Alice leaves Underland, we have no way of knowing what becomes of Tarrant. However, the first time Alice left, Tarrant killed Time waiting for her to come back. This made Time angry and so he stopped for Tarrant (and Thackery) leaving him literally stuck at a specific time for several years by our time (not sure how that translates to Underland’s clocks). Thus, many assume Tarrant may try to kill Time again or something else of a very devoted nature. On the other hand, it is also possible that he will go back to his job as hatter for the White Queen.

The Characters Together

Canon?
It is a very confounding thing, this adaptation. It is canon, semi-canon and non-canon all at once. In the first draft of the script it was indeed canon. In the book adaptation of the final film, it is semi-canon. In the final film, well it’s pretty much non-canon.

At one point, when Tarrant was imprisoned, he was going to reach through the bars, touch Alice’s face and declare, “You could almost make me forget what I have sworn to do.” Instead, we get Alice grabbing Tarrant’s face which eventually leads to him saying, “Why is it you’re always too small or too tall?” A statement that has been interpreted (including in the book adaptation of the film) as meaning Alice and Tarrant both wish she wasn’t too big for them to kiss.

In the first draft of the script, Mirana was going to realize the romance between Tarrant and Alice as she openly worries about his fate back at Salazen Grum (the Red Queen’s castle). Instead, in the film we get just about NOTHING from Alice on the matter besides going straight to Hatter and stating how happy she is he’s alive once he makes it to Marmoreal (the White Queen’s castle). However, in the book adaptation, we have Alice inwardly wishing she was back at Salazen Grum as she worries about whether or not Tarrant is being beaten or worse. Then, instead of walking to him when he arrives at Marmoreal safely, she literally runs to him, throws her arms about him and then he takes her hands in his own.

Finally, there is a matter of TWO kisses which took place in the first draft. One was to happen right after Tarrant finishes his Futterwacken and the second was to take place just as Alice is about to leave. In the movie, we instead get Tarrant being so horribly sad that Alice is leaving. He leans in close to whisper fairfarren and Alice is left with a look that makes you wonder if she suddenly realizes the really stupid mistake she is making in leaving him. As for the book, well it’s quite curious indeed. Right after the Cheshire Cat explains to Alice that Hatter is doing the Futterwacken, the following is written (emphasis added):

The White Queen knelt beside the body of the fallen Jabberwocky and caught a drop of its blood in a vial. She stood up and handed the vial to Alice as the Hatter let her go.

Let her go from what!? There is no hug or kiss previously mentioned anywhere within the text of the book. More sneakiness, eh? No way of saying for sure, but it’s pretty amazing to think even the implication of some sort of epic embrace or kiss made it into the book adaptation despite it not being in the final film.

So what are you supposed to accept as canon? Even if you throw out the first draft of the script, do you also throw out the book adaptation which was authorized and seemingly approved by Disney (although, I’m slightly convinced the adaptation writer did NOT see the same movie as we did)? Do you simply take the movie at face value? Even then, does their parting scene in Underland imply they really did have something for each other even if it’s not [yet or ever] meant to be? The fact is there is no simple answer. The choice is yours what you choose as canon, and it seems to vary from fanwork to fanwork. Even if the script is not really acceptable as canon, it does at least prove that the original intent was for Tarrant and Alice to be together and that’s a pretty strong indication of why shippers are able to see hints of romance between the two in what did make it to the final film (you know what I’m going to say: sneaky, sneaky…).

Why Do They Belong Together?
To put it simply: Alice is Tarrant’s sanity and Tarrant is Alice’s muchness.

From the moment Tarrant comes onto the screen, I believe it is quite clear that they belong together. At the very sight of Alice, Tarrant’s clothes literally perk up. His bow tie flares in a way that matches his own wide smile. Then, overwhelmed by his excitement, he crosses the tables to get to her as quickly as possible. Then, with an awe-filled look and a breathless voice, he declares, “It’s you!”

And from the second he lays eyes on her, Tarrant believes in Alice the way she has always wanted someone to believe in her (the way her father always believed in her). When all of the others doubt that she is the Alice, including herself, he recalls her muchness and he knows she is the one he killed Time for. Bayard says it best: “The Hatter would not give himself up for just any Alice.” And not even when Alice tells him she won’t slay anything does he actually doubt she is Alice. In fact, the scene in which Tarrant and Alice have their slight quarrel on their way to Marmoreal portrays my two points on muchness and sanity quite perfectly.

First, it reaffirms that Alice needs Tarrant. She is the right Alice, but Tarrant also knows that she has lost something since her first trip. He knows exactly that she is lacking her muchness before she even realizes it herself. After this confrontation, Alice goes to great lengths to prove her muchness to him. She refuses to abandon him to the Red Queen and does all she can to save him. It is obvious she has been affected by Tarrant’s telling her she has lost her muchness. It seems to show how important Tarrant’s opinion of her is to Alice: she has yet to accept the fact that she is the Alice that can slay the Jabberwocky, but still she wants to be the Alice that Tarrant remembers. It’s an oxymoron that proves her feelings for him! Furthermore, when Alice is with Tarrant in Salazen Grum, she seems very certain of herself and is willing to get the Vorpal Sword because he wants her to. This speaks volumes. Without Tarrant, Alice is not as “muchier” as she can be.

Secondly, the scene reaffirms that Tarrant needs Alice. It is clear that Tarrant is hurt when Alice tells him to put the thought of her slaying out of his mind. We can’t be certain, but perhaps it’s this moment that he realizes she doesn’t remember him. Had she remembered him, she wouldn’t have made such a careless comment (given his condition). You can see very clearly that he is on the brink of having a fit of madness (of the angry variety). However, he looks at her before simply picking her up off his shoulder and setting her down on a log. Yes, he is still angry, but he never hurts her. This says so much!! Something keeps the madness at bay. So, seeing as his anger is geared at Alice directly, we might be able to assume that somewhere inside his jumbled mind, he knows he can’t ever hurt Alice. He can maybe leave her in the middle of Tulgey Woods, but he can keep the madness from doing anything worse. This is why it seems perfectly clear that, even when she is to blame for the madness, Alice is Tarrant’s sanity in the midst of insanity.

Other notable moments include (but are not limited to):

- Tarrant sharing with Alice what happened on the Horunvendush Day. It pains him greatly to recount it, but he trusts Alice enough to tell her all about his past. Even though they just had a confrontation and she angered him, he is still willing to open up to her.

- Alice’s devotion to not only Tarrant, but also his hat. Alice knows that without the hat there is no Hatter, in a sense. It is a part of him. Having also lost someone she cared about, it can serve as a sign of their emotional connection. In many ways, Tarrant’s hat also acts as Alice’s protection. It saves her from the red knights and it offers her shelter once she is safe. Furthermore, it is a metaphor for her unspoken longings. She sees the hat and Hatter as one and the same; thus, her being so strongly connected to the hat (as evidenced when Tarrant arrives at Marmoreal and she almost instantly notices it is missing) is really the outer manifestation of her connection to Tarrant.

- Alice and Tarrant’s time alone together on the balcony at Marmoreal. There are many poignant details which could be touched on here. But I think my favorite is the sadness in Tarrant’s face when he says, “Then that would mean I’m not real.” There is such sanity in this line. He realizes if he is just a dream then he and Alice can never really be together. This same sadness is echoed in Alice saying, “I’ll miss you when I wake up.” Throughout this scene, it is clear they feel something very deep for one another. And although it is sad, it allows for Alice’s later moment of realization that Hatter is indeed real to be more heartfelt. It makes it all the more of an exciting revelation to her that Tarrant is real!

- Tarrant breaks all the rules for Alice. First, Tarrant is willing to step up to the challenge of being Champion instead. I should point out that we are specifically supposed to see how his doing so is directly related to Alice since the camera cuts to her immediately after he volunteers. Surely, Tarrant must still realize that Alice is the only one who can actually defeat the Jabberwocky. He must know that it means he would go to his doom. Yet, he is willing to go in her stead anyway (that or he understands the method of reverse psychology!). Later, when Alice has begun to fight the Jabberwocky, he first struggles to not step in to rescue her (this alone proves how he feels about her!), but then he completely disregards Mirana’s saying Alice must step out alone by interfering.

Why do I ship it and why should you ship it?
I have shipped Alice and Tarrant from the time the promotional pictures were revealed early in 2009. I saw Tarrant and I saw Alice and in my head I thought: If I watch this, I’m going to ship them. I just know it.

But aside from the freaky premonitions I often get, I think it’s pretty explicit that Alice and Tarrant were made for each other. They complement each other perfectly. They are both half-mad apart from one another, but together -instead of being completely mad- they are completely sane. Once again, like everything else in Underland, it’s not supposed to make sense.

I ship them because I see more than just a romantic connection. Yes, I see the chemistry. But I also see the need. It is like they are bound to one another. Alice was always meant to come to Underland and Tarrant was always meant to be there when she did. In my opinion, it is why he survived Horunvendush Day to begin with. Their connection is metaphysical. It is so deep they cannot escape it even if they wanted. Just one example of this would be the fact that Alice went to Salazen Grum solely to rescue Tarrant, but she also needed to be there to retrieve the Vorpal Sword. This means her destiny was intertwined with her desire (as it often is for people).

Thus, I ship them because they cannot truly exist without one another. That, and because they are just so darn cute together ;)

Do you need more reasons to ship them? Beyond the fact that they are most clearly meant to be, they offer something that is rare in ships. Their relationship is heterosexual, but offers a break from the classic sense of het, without necessarily becoming au-ish. Remember what I said about Alice being masculine and Tarrant being feminine? Alice is masculine without giving up her femininity altogether. Tarrant, on the other hand, has been driven to a more feminine being, but has not lost all masculinity. This can offer shippers the chance to play around with how to interpret their relationship and it can vary from one minute to the next!

Then, there is the fact that their relationship allows for much exploration beyond what the movie gave us. It is Underland! Nothing is impossible. There is extensive room for growth and new story plots and so on. The movie leaves us with the hope that Alice will be back before Tarrant knows it. So, the door is open wide to imagination! (And any concern over their age gap is all but silenced since Time is very funny in Underland.)

So, what are you waiting for? All aboard!!

Here we have a picspam for themiddleearth (which you should totally join, btw).

I secretly detest picspams. I see no real purpose for them. Every now and then I find a brilliant one, but even then they are of no real purpose, but to waste a few minutes looking at them. I can do that on my own really, with no help from others. The only time I don't detest picspams are when they come with witty commentary or are really creative in another sense (such as something like the recast challenge at picspammy) and/or serve as a precursor to a zip file of screencaps for others to download.

So, without further adieu here is my totally generic, commentary-less picspam...which apparently I detest ;P It's from the very last credits of the trilogy. The creative thought that went into the RotK credits has always blown my mind.

So, there you have it. Since they're just pictures that didn't take much to recolor, do with them whatever you like. I'm in a sharing mood :)

The Lost Romance | A Merwyn Fanmix

Title: The Lost Romance: A Story Tolkien Never Told
Warnings: Besides being off the wall and having some bizarre song explanations...there's some anachronism like the words car, phone, etc. Things of that sort. Also, there's a lot of Hollywood Records artists, so sorry if that's not your thing. But feel free to read the explanations if you want :)
Notes: A few tracks *may* sound contorted in the online preview. But it should sound fine if you download. If there are any problems playing after download, please let me know so I can fix it. Also, the back of the cover art only has the titles of the songs. You'll understand why when you see how many songs are up on this thing, kthnx! [EDIT] Okay, so for some reason, I've discovered that some of the songs, even when downloaded, will play about 7 seconds of the song and then restart before playing all the way through without any other hitches. At least on my computer this happens. If it happens for you as well, my apologies. I have no idea what is up with the files. My computer has pretty much been acting crazy since the last Windows Update.

This is the longest fanmix I've ever made. 27 songs! I just couldn't make myself part with some of them, even though they totally could have been dumped with no effect. So long post ahead. I guess it could also be considered crack-y (even though, gosh, I've always hated that term. I mean, I don't do drugs or approve of them). But, it's pretty out there, so, call it whatever you like. Basically, every song on this fanmix will further along the plotline of a ship story involving Merry and Eowyn. This theme was inspired by the fact that me and one of my BFFs of yesteryears used to joke about how Merry was so in love with Eowyn. We had so much fun with this pairing back in the day, that I couldn't help but revive it for this challenge. BTW, I do adore Eowyn/Faramir as much as the next girl :) ON TO THE MIX!

Let's use our imaginations and pretend that this is a soundtrack to a miniseries based on an original piece of manuscript that had been lost. Let's pretend that Tolkien originally played with the idea of Merry and Eowyn (just like he did with Aragorn/Eowyn). A tragic love story that never saw the light of day with the exception of fragments. Fragments such as Merry's infatuation with all things of Rohan, or the fact that he travels back with Pippin to Rohan and Gondor in their old age. But even though the fragments show up in the appendices of the books, we're also totally going to pretend like the movie itself is canon too. AKA, Merry had NOTHING to do with Eowyn and Faramir hooking up. He rode off into battle with the others while Eowyn was still healing. This untold story was set to take place between the hobbits' return to The Shire and when Frodo leaves to the Grey Havens.

However, the miniseries goes back to the beginning. We get to see how things really went down between Eowyn and Merry once he started hanging around her tent, nearly stabbing her with blunt swords. We'll get to see the development of what could have been a love story as beautiful as Luthien and Beren (OTP ALERT!) albeit a slightly more tragic one.

On the flip side, Merry's completely entranced by Eowyn's beauty, strength, etc. (not seeing a single ounce of weakness or imperfection within her, regardless of how she feels about herself). In his opinion, she's practically an enchantress who's put a spell on him. Let's just say Galadrial got nuthin' on Eowyn.

Eowyn knew there was no way she was going into battle without Merry, that's why she scooped him up like that. As they ride closer and closer to Gondor, they both realize that they'll be fine so long as they are able to fight alongside one another. D'aaaaaawwwww! Besides, they have to. Destiny is calling them into battle together.

So, as the armies of Rohan reach Pelennor Fields, everybody randomly breaks out into song (because who doesn't love a good musical?), mainly Eowyn and Merry. So, there they are singing an epic 80's like rock ballad as they fight. And that guitar solo, yeah that's the part where they are battling the Witch King ;)

Before The Storm

So, we fast forward to after the storm (duh, the storm here totally refers to the final battle against Sauron). You see, Eowyn awoke in the Houses of Healing all alone. Merry was nowhere to be found, because he went into battle. Her insecurity resurfaces and she eventually gives into Faramir's advances, much to Merry's complete shock when he does return from battle. What a homecoming, right? So then they have kind of an epic moment, sometime between the coronation and the hobbits departure, where they argue and are all like "well, I'm glad it's over between us" while this song plays (much to the chagrin of all fellow Miley-haters).

As the hobbits are preparing to leave, Merry fights back his confusion. He knows Eowyn totally turned her back on him (I mean, he went to battle to protect her and Minis Tirith and save his relative so, dude, what the heck!?), but he can't help his emotions. As he sees her one last time (with Faramir), he knows he's still in love with her.

As reality starts to set in that Merry is gone, Eowyn begins to realize how she truly feels. She wasn't completely sure of her love for him before, but as each day goes by, she realizes how dumb she was for giving up on what they had. Faramir's great and everything, but now she knows he's nothing in comparison to Merry. Poor Faramir, always getting a lousy hand.

As a few months go by, Eowyn and Merry pine for each other more and more. With the exception of Frodo (poor, poor, Frodo. None of the hobbit girls like four-fingered Frodo), Merry is the unhappiest of the hobbits. Sam married Rosie and then Pippin's totally chillin' with Diamond all the time. He realizes he's gotta go back and face Eowyn, at least tell her how he feels. Little does he know that, with just a short time left before her wedding to Faramir, Eowyn is desperate to see Merry again and set things right.

The Jonas Brothers apparently own the label the soundtrack was released on... So, Merry shows up just in time - on the eve of the wedding - and finds Eowyn awake at midnight by the White Tree of Gondor (they're getting married in Gondor, duh...Osgiliath is still under construction). Surprised by his sudden appearance, it doesn't take long for them to reveal their love for one another. Merry suggests that she run away with him back to the Shire and, though she hesitates at first, Eowyn agrees and they leave immediately.

You'll Be In My Heart

As they are traveling back to the Shire, Eowyn's thinking about how difficult their life together will be. She is already having doubts about how they'll ever be able to make it work. However, she believes that Merry is her destiny and so they'll show everyone together that they were meant to be. Thus, she throws all of her doubts out of her mind...for now (cuz, this is a Tolkien tale, remember?)

For Eowyn, this bliss is a very welcome change to all the drama she's been dealt during her life (stalker dude Grima anyone?). Unfortunately, Gandalf shows up and is all like, "WHAT IS THIS!?" Why he playin' dumb? He knew what was goin' on or else he wouldn't have been there to begin with. He has a long talk with Eowyn and is all like, "Girl, you crazy. He's a hobbit. Whatcha kids gonna look like? Psh, why don't you go back to hunky Faramir. He's a prince!" This gets Eowyn all worked up and she's all like, "WHY CAN'T YA'LL JUST LEAVE ME ALONE! CAN'T YOU SEE I'M BLEEDING LOVE, FOOL!?"

Of course, being the totally insecure shieldmaiden we've come to know her as, Gandalf's words along with frequent snobbish hobbit stares start to get to her. She's almost certain she can get through this new bout of doubt, but it would help if the world would just stop. Of course it can't so she starts to break down.

Eowyn's upset even more that he just doesn't understand where she's coming from. He's trying to, but her warped thought pattern just won't let her see how sincere he is in trying to get them through this.

Much like the very fickle leading lady of another trilogy phenomenon *coughGabriellacough* Eowyn becomes convinced that this can only end in a goodbye. Seeing as Eowyn has been dealt quite a lot in her lifetime, she decides she just can't handle it. She has to get out before it hurts worse than it already does.

She goes on and on about how she's totally self absorbed and needs to move on because that's what's best for HER. She can't handle the ups and down of an otherwise great relationship. And Merry's all like, "What about us?" He's totally confuzzled as she packs up and leaves town.

She becomes depressed by the fact that because of her wekaness, she's given up a chance to be happy. However, for all of her despondant thoughts, she also can't bring herself to return. She can't bring herself to be strong.

Nearly a year goes by, and finally, with help from Pippin, Frodo, Sam and Fatty Bolger, Merry moves past a dangerous state of depression and turns just a little more emo with his reflections on losing Eowyn. He wishes he could go back in time and change things, but he's starting to realize there's nothing he can do.

At the SAME EXACT TIME (cause that's how convenient tragic love stories are, you know?), Eowyn is back in Rohan feeling/acting a bit like a drama queen. However, she's starting to accept the fact that maybe all she needs to do is give up on the past and let the future take her wherever it wants. However, she's certain that nothing will ever erase the memory of her love for Merry.

Pippin and Diamond get married, which kinda shakes Merry up a little because now he really, really feels alone. However, as he's lost in his own confused thoughts, Fatty introduces him to his sister Estella at the Took after wedding celebration (at where else, but the Inn right? LOL!) and he realizes time's gonna keep rollin' on with or without him. Meanwhile, Faramir continues his advances towards Eowyn (I mean, let's face it, the poor guy has nobody left. He's kinda desperate. He can't be too picky.) and finally he asks her to marry him again and she breaks down and says yes. So, both Eowyn and Merry learn that all in all, it's just another day. Every day may hurt, but they have to keep living with the choice that was made.

Merry decides he should write a letter. In it, he tells Eowyn that he'll always love her, but maybe it really never would have worked between them. He is honest and says he wishes they could be together at least one more time, maybe have one last chance to sort everything through. However, he promises that no matter where their lives take them, he'll always be there with her if she'll remember him and he knows she'll always be with him in his heart. He then, knowing her insecurity issues, tries to encourage her to be everything he knows she already is. This letter comes at the most opportune time for Eowyn. She was once again debating if she was capable of going through with her marriage to Faramir, but Merry's words finally melt the ice from her heart (sorry, Faramir, it wasn't your doing...).

Eowyn writes back a letter of her own saying how everywhere she goes and in random people she sees, she'll always remember Merry. She never wants to say goodbye. So, she doesn't sign her letter with "goodbye" since she's convinced they'll see each other again someday (which does happen when Merry eventually returns to Rohan and Gondor). Thus, Eowyn is constantly reminded of the beauty of the love they shared (no longer the bitterness of their separation and what could have been) and, agreeing wholeheartedly with the letter, Merry finds a hobby in the studies of Rohan so he can always have a piece of her with him, in a sense.

This song plays during the final montage of scenes, showing the audience what becomes of the two characters. Eowyn marries Faramir and Merry marries Estella, they have families, duties, etc. But the scenes are also intertwined with scenes of Merry and Eowyn from the past proving that, while the two are living on, they really are remembering each other. At the end, we see an elderly hand holding a letter that reads, "Gondor and Rohan eagerly await the return of their most beloved Squires, as do I."

Cue the credits! See, I told you this was released on a JoBros label!! I guess this song pretty much sums up the lost romance of Merry and Eowyn. They weren't able to have each other forever, but at the same time they did have each other, in a sense. Just like Peter Pan and Wendy, they turned out fine :) Now, see, don't you think this tragic love story shouldn't have ever been tossed aside by Tolkien? That's what I thought!

I'm also thinking, that as much fun as it was being an uber dork and writing this, I should probably have my head examined, lol.

Thanks For The Adventure | A Carl and Ellie Fanmix

I made this for disneyverse! The challenge was to make a 5 song (or more) fanmix only using Disney music (or songs on Disney movie soundtracks). I picked Carl/Ellie (as did a lot of people!) from Up.

I may have to end up extending this and making it a full length soundtrack [so maybe look for the Deluxe Edition in the future ;)]

Also, because I was bored and my creativity got the best of me, I made actual lyric jackets as well :D Although, I take no responsibility for accuracy of lyrics (I tried my hardest, kk?).

Together, Carl and Ellie can face whatever life throws at them. I especially felt it appropriate because of the lyrics, "We'll paint the gray clouds.../We'll brush the gloom away..." and how they correspond to Ellie's artiness.

Ellie's just a little bit crazy ^_- And the beauty of it is that it makes Carl even crazier for her. So, it's Carl's POV on Ellie's personality compared to his own and how she complements him.

All Carl and Ellie have is a simple life, but it doesn't matter because they're together. It may not be South America, but it's still like paradise.

Unexpected choice? Uh, no it isn't! Carl and Ellie's relationship is one beautiful dance. It's breathtaking and sentimental. Carl is there to take the lead when Ellie needs him and Ellie's heart is with Carl even when they are separated. They're romance really is "like catching lighting." Better stop before I get choked up...

From beginning to end, this song just feels like it could be Carl and Ellie's theme song. Carl and Ellie had so much to share with each other. It all started by Ellie sharing with Carl how the world looked through her eyes (her adventure book) and ended with her sharing with Carl how he had given her an adventure.

Monk/Trudy Fanmix - To Where You Are

Life has been just a bit crazy with school the past few weeks. So I am forced to roll out like a gajillion fanmixes at once. okay, maybe not a gajillion...

Next up, thought I'd take a break from Monk/Natalie and go back to one of the most beautiful, albeit tragic, romances ever thought up by the film and television industry: Adrian and Trudy Monk.

This fanmix is called "To Where You Are: Love and Love Lost" and is based on both when Trudy was alive and Monk's devotion to her following her death. All of these songs are mainly from Monk's point of view although there are a parts in some that could probably be from Trudy's perspective as well, depending on how you look at it.

So, as we near the very end and hear Trudy's voice echoing: "It won't be long now." let's take the opportunity to go to where Trudy is for just a short while longer.

(The only song strictly from Trudy's point of view. Trudy wants Adrian to know that even though she's gone, she's always with him. As her final words were, "Bread and Butter.")

(More cruel irony. Adrian doesn't want to lose the reverie he's found with Trudy. She's the one who made him feel awake, but sadly, he will soon go back to sleepwalking. Also, it reminds me of Adrian's short time with Trudy in "Mr. Monk Vs. the Cobra")
Only time will tell us how to carry on without each other. So keep me awake to memorize you. Give me more time to feel this way.

(Adrian is convinced that even if he someday moves on and even if by some miracle falls in love again, it could never be the way he loved Trudy.)

Monk/Natalie Fanmix - Losing That Girl

Time to take a walk down the bittersweet side of Monk and Natalie's relationship and possible blooming romance. As cute as it is, there have been occasions in which their relationship has been pretty rocky. Of course, those rocky times only made their relationship stronger in the end!

This fanmix is called Losing That Girl and is inspired by Captain Stottlemeyer's comment to Monk, "You're this close to losing that girl" (from Mr. Monk On Wheels). As melancholy as it is, it's one of my favorite lines because it seems very intimate. It's like he's warning Monk he's going lose more than just an assistant and then it will be too late.

So, let's ponder love and love almost lost. After all...as Randy and Sharona learned...absence makes the heart grow fonder ;)

Here comes another Monk fanmix and it's more Monk/Natalie :) This one is the one that I was considering Volume B that goes with my Something's Gotta Give fanmix. There will be two more Monk/Natalie fanmixes to come as well as a Monk/Trudy and another two-volume collection all about Monk himself :)

This fanmix is called A Different Kind of Romance. That's just how I picture it. Some argue that there's no sexual tension between them, but since when does it take sexual tension only to make a romance? Guess that's what's wrong with society. Not every beautiful romance smolders with lust. In fact, many of the most beautiful only slightly sizzle and the sizzle comes from the subtleties of every day interaction. At least, that's my opinion no the matter :) And, I, of course, think there is chemistry with these two. All the songs on this fanmix are based on the two actually being together and the unique romance that has evolved and what each one means to the other.

(Natalie knows it might not have always been this way, but now there's a love for Adrian she can't escape - Also, this was the first song I ever made a Monk fanvideo with!)

(Monk knows that he has to do whatever it takes to always have Natalie because he knows he'll never have a new dawn without her.)

(Monk is nothing short of a trainwreck, but Natalie wouldn't have it any other way.)

(Monk used to have nothing but a broken heart, but Natalie has finally mended it.)

(Natalie has been there with Monk through so many ups and downs and wants to be there for him always.)

6. At The Beginning - Richard Marx and Donna Lewis
(This is mostly a selfish add. I love the song and like the idea of Monk and Natalie reflecting on their relationship in this manner.)

7. A Song For You - Rachael Lampa
(Monk knows he shouldn't take for granted all that Natalie has always been for him. He never wants to lose her, at least not without her never knowing his need and love for her.)

(Natalie wants Monk to know he can stop being all alone now that she's there to love him.)

(Natalie has come to understand Monk better than anyone else and she's bound and determined to always keep it that way.)
When you're trapped and there's just no cure and you can't breathe, I will breathe for you.

12. Real Life Fairytale - Plumb
(Both points of views intermingled: Monk in verses and Natalie in chorus. It may be unusual, but Monk and Natalie have a different kind of romance and it's nothing short of a real life fairytale.)
