Summer
An exhortation
If I'm remembering correctly, I wrote a similar post like this last year. But I'm going to do it again.
The school year is almost over, for some of you, it is. Your days are no longer filled with lessons and home work. You probably have a lot of free time! You can do whatever you want.
But should you?
No.
If you're old enough (legally) then you should get a job. It doesn't need to be full time: after all, you are still a kid. But that much free time is bad. Especially as a young man. You should have something hard to do. Everyone should, men and women, boys and girls.
If you're days are only filled with free time, that free time loses its value!
So here's the exhortation: get a job. A paying job that requires you be somewhere at a certain time and be there for a set length. A consists f job. Something to get money and something to get character. Then you'll enjoy your free time more.

Agreed! My mom always told me being idle is just asking for sin.
The proverbs teach that as well.
Spent my young summers building fence, hauling hay or brush hogging. Made me strong and had pockets full of money to buy guns and stuff. I never realized till your post that it did indeed make free time more valuable. Even today I value time at home in the garden or in the pool after work. Thanks
