But that\u2019s relatively rare.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A pair of eclipses occurs every 6 months.&nbsp; This means that we usually experience eclipse cycles 2 times a year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>NOTES:&nbsp; (a) Occasionally there will be 3 eclipse cycles in one year, but again, that\u2019s relatively rare.  (b) Astrologically, we refer to these as &#8220;eclipse seasons.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Astronomy also tells us that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Solar Eclipses <strong>always <\/strong>coincide with a New Moon.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lunar Eclipses <strong>always <\/strong>coincide with a Full Moon.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Astronomical explanation of a solar eclipse<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This is when the Moon is located between the Sun and the Earth, which cuts off the light from the Sun.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>NOTE:  See <strong>top half<\/strong> of picture at the top of this Blog post.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Astronomical explanation of a lunar eclipse<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This is when the Earth is located between the Sun and the Moon.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>NOTES:&nbsp; <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>See <strong>bottom half<\/strong> of picture at the top of this Blog post.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>The Moon has no light, but Earth&#8217;s position interrupts the reflection of the Sun\u2019s light off the Moon.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Astrologically, what do eclipses generally represent?&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>NOTE:  Because all eclipses occur when there is either a New Moon or Full Moon, I do recommend reading the following Blog post:  <a href=\"https:\/\/annereith.com\/differences-between-new-moon-full-moon\/\" title=\"\">New and Full Moons &#8211; How to Interpret Them Astrologically<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Whatever astrological influences are associated with a New Moon\/solar eclipse or a Full Moon\/lunar eclipse are believed to impact us the next 6 months (i.e., until the next eclipse season).  \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The upside:<\/strong>&nbsp; This means we have extra time (i.e., 6 months) to let the issue(s) unfold. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The downside: <\/strong> If it\u2019s a difficult lesson, then we\u2019ll be dealing with it for 6 months.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Even eclipses impacts us for 6 months, at the time of the New Moon\/solar eclipse or Full Moon\/lunar eclipse, there may be a sudden surprise or \u201ccrisis\u201d that catalyzes the changes that will unfold over 6 months.&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I always joke that an eclipse is a New Moon or Full Moon &#8220;on steroids.&#8221;  It definitely amplifies the power and impact of the lunar event.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Eclipses are almost always \u201cwake-up calls\u201d for what needs to change as our soul progresses to its next lesson(s).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They activate the Moon&#8217;s Nodes (i.e., North Node, South Nodes).  \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The house(s) activated by the New or Full Moon may indicate <strong>which area(s) <\/strong>of your life will need adjustments based on the placements of your natal North and South Nodes.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The sign(s) involved in the New or Full Moon may help you know <strong>how <\/strong>the adjustments will take place.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any planets, asteroids, or Nodes that fall within 1\u2070 of either side of the degree of the New or Full Moon will be impacted by that lunar event, and vice versa.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A distance of greater than 1\u2070 typically isn\u2019t significant, although some astrologers will extend that to 2\u2070 if it\u2019s an eclipse that is close to the Sun.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>NOTE:  More detailed information is provided in the following Blog post about how &#8220;close&#8221; a New or Full Moon needs to be in order to impact a natal planet, asteroid, or Node:  <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/annereith.com\/how-to-find-the-moon-in-your-natal-chart\/\" title=\"\">How to Find the Transiting Moon in Your Natal Chart<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Only the Ascendant and Midheaven are considered important with regard to an eclipse being located close to a house cusp.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This is especially true with the Ascendant!&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The New or Full Moon needs to be located within 1\u2070 of the Ascendant or Midheaven in order to be considered significant.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All other house cusps aren&#8217;t considered to be important.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>NOTE: More detailed information is provided in the following Blog post about how &#8220;close&#8221;
