For a millennium, the Godtree protected the land of Empyr from angels and demons alike. But during the Millennium Festival, it perished, along with the Guardians who had ruled Empyr since its founding.

At the heart of this calamity was Anima, an immortal serpent long sealed in the Godtree's roots. The divine tree was not slain; rather, it granted Anima's wish at the cost of its own life. From its husk, a Time Aspect named Mei was born.

As though unfulfilled, Anima now seeks to steal Mei's magic and reset all of Empyr to a bygone era. Yet it can only turn back time as far as Mei's birth. Doing so rewinds everyone's memories, including its own. Thus, both Anima and Empyr have been entangled in a self-perpetuating loop.

Somehow, an organization known as the Ophidian Order has emerged to break this cycle. But what will it take to kill that which cannot die?
