I loved participating in the Big Bang Challenges of yesteryear and was very excited to see one for my beloved OTP. I had the great pleasure of illustrating for not one but two beautiful Severus/Harry Big Bang stories! In both cases I had SO MANY IDEAS and SO LITTLE TIME! Reposted arts here <3

asecretchord's epic length mpreg Birth of a Dancing Star, which, in spite of its dubious title, I found quite lovely and romantic (and also chock full of plot!).

"Suddenly, the only voices in the Hall were his, Snape's, Flitwick's and Sprout's. They finished the charm, ending with a sharp flourish of wands. I really liked attempting a more modern design :)

In other news: I have been following Once Upon A Time since it's premier, but I never thought to join it's fandom. But that RUMBELL ATE ME BRAIN! I am slowly working my way through Nym's A Bed of Thorns. Is anyone else on my flist into OUAT? I think this is my first canon, nonslash pairing. I feel oddly non-perverse :O

2012 was a rocky year of ups and downs. I'm hoping this year will be better for several reasons.

1) That wonderful ex-boyfriend is once again my boyfriend and we're making a very serious go of it. I adore him. He's seriously my rock and I want us to be there for each other for years to come.

2) While it is likely not my passion, I am applying for dental hygiene schools. This is a job I can find work in all over the country, and if it damn doesn't pay pretty nice.

3)I want to have more me focused goals. I've really stopped prioritizing myself and that's not going to be the path to happiness.

With that in mind some New Year's Resolutions:
-Work out more regularly
-Expand my cooking horizons
-DRAW MOAR
-Participate in fandom again, I seriously fucking miss you guys.
-Be more cognizant of my emotional baggage and have the courage to confront it.

So that was mostly for me, but I have art for you!

I just broke up with my boyfriend. I adore him; he's a wonderful man and has been so kind to me, but we see things so differently. I put forth so much effort, but every step of the way my gut fought me. I keep waking up in the morning and my first thought is about how it's just not working out. And how frustrated I am that I've tried so hard and it feels like I haven't gotten anywhere. And how shitty I feel about myself when I'm with him. I feel sad. He's amazing, but we both deserve someone better matched.

Like the title says! It's mostly sketches I've had laying around, or that were for brainstorming one fest or another.

I very much like how their faces turned out. Their bodies, however, could use some work...

I like it better without Snape, but I like the idea of putting Harry in robes rather than ze Muggle clothing.

I just wanted to do something romantic and feminine. I'm not sure if I'm going to add any more details or not. I really like the color transitions in the background and the hair. Not too bad for my fourth painting :D

I really liked working on both of these! I've been feeling pretty down the last several months, but it really really refreshing and uplifting to draw these. Though, I probably got carried away with all the colors!

It's been forever since I stopped in. I really do miss fandom and the sense of community I had. I miss my fanartists! But nowadays I don't even spend an hour online. I can't remember the last time I read fic. It's bizarre how much has changed in the last year.

I just wanted to pop in an unload a little HP art I've had kicking around the hard drive :)

Brendan finally came home yesterday after staying at his friends' places. I miss him. But I have to remember to give him space. I find myself asking him stuff and trying to converse like nothing's happened ;___; Keep this up and I'll accidentally push him away.

Wow. I'm really having the worst fucking week ever.
First I broke up with my boyfriend of 3+ yrs, who I live with and share a lease with.
And then, I went to work where my phone, cash out of my wallet, and my DS (and games! and headphones) were stolen right out of my purse.

These things come in threes; I hope this is the final continuation from the crazy roommate business, and I'm done with all the suck for this year.

Dragon*Con and THG fanart

So yeah, my visit home was pretty nice. I really had missed my parents. It was also fabulous to be super-duper lazy for days :)

Dragon*Con was pretty cool. I think I enjoyed it more when I had the purchasing power to bring stuff home. I can't rationalize getting a $200+ corset, no matter how flattering it may have been (mannnnn I wish I had a picture, this thing was ridiculous. Also, also holy god! So Much SteamPunk!

Highlights
True Blood Panel: OMG! Pam's actress is so adorable! She got all teary-eyed talking about how Alexander Skarsgard (Eric) plays a paternal character. Also! Lafayette's actor is so shy and quiet; I was so surprised. Maryann's actress and Sam's actor (haha, also Sam) talked about how awesome it was to be a badass. The panel had a really wonderful dynamic :)

Avery Brooks: (who played Captain Sisko in ST:DS9) He was really interesting. A totally different sort of actor. It was unexpected, but also lovely. I also think I spotted mijan asking a question :D

Stargate: Christopher Judge is such a pervert; I adore him. Also, there may have been swashbuckling. Also, also, did you know that RDA did a series of commercials for Zaxby's Chicken? OMGWTF SO BAD

Battlestar Galactica: I've never seen such a serious panel of actors. They were all so thoughtful and careful in their responses. I wonder if there's a correlation between how seriousbusiness your show is to how seriousbusiness the actors are. Also, while waiting in line I met the lovely brokenmnemonic and friends who had come all the way from the UK!

Star Trek Miss Universe Pageant: OMFG, HOW I DID I ALMOST FORGET THIS! It was SO FUNNYYYYY! Having expanded from the Klingon only pageant of years before, an Orion Slave girl (who was painted green everywhere) won. I was rooting to the Borg chick though, she danced to All the Single Ladies with the Klingon co-hosts.

The Hunger Games: They actually had a panel on the YA track! It was more of a guided discussion of people's reactions, but still, excitement! There was a really good turn out! (also a badass Mockingjay!Katniss cosplay, which she must have banged out in a couple days). I was a little bummed that the discussion was restricted to the first book, but still! Hopefully, there will be more panels in the future! Got my doodling going!

I like to think of this as the scene on the roof, Peeta speaking with conviction.

Woohoo! Dragon*Con tomorrow!! and the day after that, and the day after that, and etc.

I'm pretty freaking excited :D
While waiting to board my flight, the gentleman ahead of me asked me if I was going. I MUST GLOW EXCITEMENT OR SOMETHING.

I picked my visit home to coincide, then I pressured my mother into getting a membership to go with me XD I love being a second generation fan; I don't have to hide my fannish interests. Also, growing up in Atlanta has really spoiled me for conventions. Aside from the San Diego Comic Con, I don't think it gets much better than D*C.
