Well worth the money
Top reviews from the United States
- 5 out of 5 stars
So worth the money. Save on Chiropractic and PT care.
Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2026My PT suggested I order this. I had used his physician-grade machine several times a week and it was pretty amazing the relief I had from my neck & shoulder pain as well as a reduction in headache and migraine frequencies.
This home cervical traction kit is built very well and I would have difficulty saying how the two products differ. I have two years on this and it has been one of my best purchases.

Worth the price
Reviewed in the United States on April 30, 2026Great relief for neck pain. This model was recommended by my physiotherapist. It is more expensive than some other models but it works and I can use it several times a day while I watch TV or read.

Pricey But Very High Quality
Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2025I have bulging discs in my lower neck so my doctor told me to get this product. It was a little pricey but when you are in pain you will try anything. I had to go to PT for 6 months to learn stretching exercises and good posture when sitting or lifting objects. After doing x-rays and an MRI my options are pretty limited. It's pretty much sticking it out with what I learned from PT or get surgery. So that's when my doctor suggested this cervical traction device.
I been holding off as much as possible on the surgery because with what I learned from PT, the stretches and improving posture has helped a lot but there are still those days when my neck flares up and it does get painful and stiff. That is when I get this traction device and use it for 15-20mins. I found that the strap for my forehead was annoying so I use it without that strap and it works fine. You just have to keep balanced and straight on it while you pump it. Once you feel your head being pulled away from your shoulders, you can stop. I usually go about 15-20 on the gauge but find what works for you. It shouldn't hurt and it actually feels pretty good once you find the right tension with your neck getting stretched. You can feel your neck discs opening up and sometimes I actually start to fall asleep on it. However, it says not to use it for too long so make sure you put an alarm. Also my physical therapist not to use it too often either. Once or twice a day should be more than enough. In the beginning I was using it almost daily but now I have been only using it on the days that are bad which is maybe 2-3 times a month. As long as I do my stretches, I'm usually ok but I am really glad that I have this product as a backup on those bad days.
I wish the price was lower which is why I'm giving it a 4 star but I have to admit, the build quality is very good. It feels industrial and it also comes with a very nice carrying case if you need to travel with it. So you get what you pay for. If you can afford it, I would highly recommend you checking this item out. I have tried other cheaper options in the past before I bought this product and they were no where near as good as this one.
Hope this review helps you out! Thanks for reading.

Get something else
Reviewed in the United States on January 31, 2026I got this hoping to help with my neck discomfort, and this product arrived damaged from the outside, since there is nothing to protect the unit itself. I am not even sure if I got a refurbish unit or what, but the product left much to desired.
The pump wand (?) would not go past 20 when someone is laying on the product, also, the unit was unable to adjust the height angle to adapt to each person's need.
Also, after a few more tries, the pump has a weird noise, like plastic creaking/screeching noise, which makes the unit very unpleasant to use.
Do your homework first. I would not get this, spending a good fortune but still not getting the desired outcome of it.

Great product, Amazing Customer Service
Reviewed in the United States on May 12, 2020I bought this to relieve pain from a herniated disc in my c-spine. The device has 3 different incline settings which let you target different parts of your neck, depending on where the issue is. I had done traction previously in the physical therapists office and this is comparable to, if not better than what they had. I was using it for a few weeks when the pump started gradually losing pressure so that I had to keep pumping every second or two to maintain pressure. I emailed ComfortTrac customer service and got a reply in a couple hours to set up a time to talk. They called me at the time specified and we talked through the issue and they sent me a replacement pump, with absolutely zero hassles. The pump was easy to replace and now it works great.
If you are looking for a traction device, this one is easy to use and made by a company that truly does stand behind their 3 year warranty. I can't recommend highly enough.
Word to the wise - don't overdo it! Look up the recommended protocols and gradually ramp up the time and pressure. The first day I had it I went a little too crazy for too long at too high a pressure and gave myself a headache. I use a FIIT app to track intervals and do some time on, then a short rest. After my initial mishap, I started at 1 min on / 30 sec off for 5 intervals, at 10-15psi 2x a day. I have gradually increased the amount of time to 2 min on and the number of intervals to 8. It isn't a magic cure - but it does help for me especially because I find my neck hurts more the more time I spend upright, so countering that pressure is key to things not getting worse.

Helpful product, not perfect
Reviewed in the United States on April 27, 2014I herniated two discs, C5/C6 and C7/T1 and am symptomatic with both, tingling in the fingers, loss of finger and especially thumb strength, some loss of wrist and bicep strength as well. I also have an athletic build with a 17.5" neck, previous review suggested this would be problematic. Looking at other available solutions, there didn't appear to be any better solutions so I decided to give this a try.
To use the unit, you set it up and lay on your back resting your head in between the adjustable rests which pinch the neck at the base of your skull. With my particular build, my neck is almost as wide as my head at the base of the skull, so with the rests set wide enough to accommodate my neck, there isn't a lot of skull for the rests to grab. But there still is some. There is also an adjustable velcro strap which goes across the forehead holding down the head into the rests and providing some grip.
Once positioned there is a very good mini bike pump which allows you to pump up a piston and stretch the neck. Pump takes little effort to get to a reasonable working pressure and has a dial which is calibrated in pounds of tension. Very nice.
Overall quality of the unit is very good.
My biggest complaint in the velcro strap. With a thick neck, the rests don't have a lot of grip, I have to rely heavily upon the strap to hold my head in position. The strap is awkward to use. It has a some stretch to it and it needs to be pulled securely and it is more difficult than it needs to be especially if one of your hands has lost some of it's finesse from a pinched nerve, a likely scenario for someone who would purchase this product. I have to stretch the right side straight up, pull it over my forehead to the left side, somehow either hold it with my right hand now on the left side and use the left hand to pull the left strap over to the other side without the right hand getting in the way, or switch hands without losing tension. Even worse, the quality of the velcro doesn't look like something that will hold up very well. The fuzzy side is just regular fabric.
Once I do have the strap tight enough to hold my head in position, the strap is uncomfortably tight, not uncomfortable enough to where I am not going to use it
I have another unit, the http://www.amazon.com/Posture-1000-Cervical-Hydrator-Standard/dp/B003DLZ0OE/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1398614978&sr=8-8&keywords=neck+traction. Function wise it doesn't seem to help with my condition, but its strap and velcro are much better and it is much easier to place correctly, tighten without assistance, and holds the head securely.
I could see where if your neck wasn't as thick, the strap may not be very critical as you could probably get enough bite from the rests to where it wasn't needed. Don't know for sure though.
Finally, just a comment on the results. When the discs first herniated and I became very symptomatic, I couldn't touch the thumb and the little finger on my left hand together. Some chiro adjustments, trainload of anti-inflammatories, plus time got me to where I could but severe loss of strength, certain gripping functions down to 10% of normal. At 3 months, my rate of improvement seemed to stagnate, I purchased this ~5 months after and have been using it pretty consistently for 3 weeks. Using it 3x/day for 10-15 minutes each seems pretty effective. In general, tingling is reduced, I'm not having to take the 1800 mg/day of ibuprofen, and some of the hand and finger function has come back. Of course, you mileage may vary.
