I've not had chance to try the nvme fictionality.

The build quality seems excellent. Would have been 5 stars except was missing a stand off and one of the ones had not had threads cut. Very minor concerns and note that I've not yet talked to support about it, as I only received the unit yesterday.

This GeeekPi 10 Inch 2U Rack Mount for Raspberry Pi 5/4B is a great piece of hardware designed to integrate Raspberry Pi boards into server rack environments efficiently. This rack mount hardware has allowed me to mount my Raspberry Pi's in my network rack in the most efficient way possible.. besides, it looks very cool! I have made a NAS and added home automation server so far.

This hardware holds up to four Raspberry Pi units. The inclusion of four PCIe to M.2 NVMe SSD adapters is a great feature, allowing for the addition of high-speed storage directly to each Raspberry Pi, dramatically enhancing performance over traditional SD card storage, especially for the Raspberry Pi 5 which natively supports this expansion - it does not work on the Raspberry Pi 4 series though.

UPDATE: While the mount is made for 10" mini racks, 2 of these units side by side or 1 and a 10" blanking panel side by side will fit a standard 19" server rack. It is lightweight enough to mount on one side of the rack over a rack shelf so a small hard drive dock can be mounted. The holes in this mount line up with 2U of a full size rack, but you have to use standard rack hardware.

Bottom Line: The GeeekPi 10 Inch 2U Rack Mount is a fantastic solution for those deploying multiple Raspberry Pi 5 units in a rack environment, however there are so many options, you need to add hardware or other parts, but those using SBCs will probably know this. I recommend it!

I’ve used Raspberry Pi’s since their early days, and each new version has been a game-changer. I even built an early cluster using plexiglass and stacking nuts. This GeekPi rack is a major upgrade because it lets you work on each computer separately.

The metal frame has big nuts holding each CPU shelf. The kit includes four NVMe adapters, connecting cables, and all the hardware needed to assemble the pieces. The only missing hardware is the M.2 NVMe screws to secure the NVMe cards to the adapters. It supports four Pi and has room to add POE hats to the CPU cards. The NVMe card is attached to the bottom of the CPU board.

It’s not perfect, but it’s a great starting point for playing. It’s a nice frame that you can build a small 2-node cluster that you can expand to 4-nodes over time. Highly recommended!

I am always glad to see thumb screws, but there are no guides to slide the Raspberry Pi holder, so once one of the thumb screws are out, it flops over and smashes into the other Radpberry Pi’s.

Amazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )
