I've been waiting to purchase this lens for almost a year to pair with my Nikon D850. When I saw that they were finally in stock I scarfed one up!
Ok, yes it's a little on the heavy side but that's actually a plus because the weight helps keep the camera steady when hand-holding shots. If I can get away with not using a tripod I'll leave it at home every time; and this lens allows me to do just that. Combined with the f/2.8 aperture and the incredible VC (Vibration Control) I can get tack sharp hand held sunrise shots and pre-sunrise shots at shutter speeds as slow as 1/8 of a second with my ISO set at 64. If I find I need to go slower but don't have anything to prop the camera up against, I just bump my ISO up to 200 or so and that still gives me clean shots and allows me to keep my shutter speed where it needs to be for good in-camera vibration control.
When I do use a tripod for night photography, then the f/2.8 allows me to keep my ISO super low in order to keep the grain out.
The sunrise shot I've attached to this review was shot with this lens on my D850 at f/9, 1/30 sec., 15mm and ISO 64.
It's a wonderful lens and I've already recommended it to many of my students and fellow photogs.
And again, don't be afraid of the weight... it is definitely your friend!!

I needed a good wide angle lens for my kit, I looked around the internet and watched reviews on different kinds of lens that fit my Nikon system. Low and behold, I stumbled upon this beauty of a lens. Don't get me wrong, native first party lens are hard to beat when it comes to crisp, sharp, durable and fast auto focus. This lens does it all and at a much lower price. I was blown away at the photos that this lens produced when attaching it onto my D750. If you have doubt about 3rd party lens, don't be, because the competition is on par with their native counterparts. Best bang for my buck by far!FitzyHands down THE lens to have in your kit.
