This absolutely works for my diy V2 PIKVM that I've had for a while. Allows me to connect four PCs to one KVM. I have the jetKVM and hear that it works on it as well but I have not tested it out. You can do a lot with this GPIO switcher never had an issue with it

I use this is my home lab to connect to some minisforum MS-01's. It works great and I can switch channels on with with a JetKVM remote IPMI / sort of Dell iDrac like module. It means you need less JetKVM modules and that is good. It has a remote that works line of sight so it's less useful for me but it does work good. It comes with decent cables too. I got some longer ones for a few connections but that is because my home lab rack is kind of janky anyway.

After looking at splitters for a while and not being satisfied with them -- they were mostly for 2 monitors and didn't support high res monitors, I found this one last week.. I installed it today and am just impressed by how well it works, and how easy it is to use.. I am using it with four machines -- 3 ubuntu desktops and one macbook. The macbook -- I used with a usb splitter that produced an hdmi output and usb outputs (since the box only supports usb3 inputs).

I mounted the box below my desk and use a remote to switch. Its day 1, I know, but its very obviously usable. Highly recommend it.

Really like this one. Auto switches to correct input on boot, button and mouse switching to select input, only minor irritations are 1) loses sync when the monitor is powered on off, and you have change input to get it back, 2) usb mouse works, but does not support advanced app settings on my corsair razor mouse. Neither is a deal breaker for me.

Combine this with a PiKVM and you're going to have a great time; a lot of the issues can be resolved by just flipping the inputs back and forth - that's annoying, but it's not nearly as annoying as going on site to replug cables.

I wouldn't use this for gaming or high bandwidth work but as a way to expand a PiKVM it's a no-brainer. Would love to see a collab with tighter hardware integration and a lower overall cost, but this is competing with solutions that cost ten times as much.

UPDATE: Port 2 went out just 2 months in and just outside the return window. The Asurion 4-year extended warranty means I'm only out the $30 of the warranty and not the whole $120 of the item.

Original review: This thing works just like it should. I'm able to remotely manage 4 different computers and video systems. I do wish the remote receiver was longer and I might experiment with an extension cable.

However, port 3 went out just a month beyond the warranty window. Yes, I checked by moving the cables around. The problem didn't move so it's the device. This time I'm buying the 4-year extended warranty.

Available with or without hot-key all other functions like IR Switching, Manual Switching, and Device Switching are universal between the two. If you plan to install a PiKVM to this device, I suggest you get the one WITHOUT hot-key.

One IR remote will allow control of two KVM devices connected in parallel affording 8 total pc, monitor, or camera connections to a single output.

You will find plenty of documentation online for a configuration to suit your needs. The basic handout sheet is just that, very basic.

Works great. Easy to use.

I like the device a lot but having used it for just a couple of weeks I cannot comment on its long term durability. However it is a metal box, quite small, definitely looks the part.

I’ve not noticed any real problems but there are a couple of things to note when you first use it. At the moment I am using two input ports with a windows 19 PCs. When you first boot up you may need to switch through the input ports to activate the video. That’s all it needs. Just switch away from the port connected to the PC you want to view and back again. I think that the PC video has to be active when you switch to its port for it to notice and show it on the output HDMI.

The device disables my PC audio and forwards it through HDMI to a mini jack on the side of the box. Which is good so long as you are aware it’s happening. It’s better than having a separate speaker system for each PC. Don’t forget to select HDMI audio as an output on the PC. The keyboard USB socket only accepts a keyboard, likewise the mouse socket.

You can plug a headset including a mic into USB4. I’ve not tried plugging in a USB hub, but I am certain that you can only try USB sockets 3 and 4 for this.

For the price I thought I would give the KVM a try but like other I am experiencing a number of showstopper issues that render this device a paperweight. I have only been using this KVM for a few hours and already I have had the following issues -

1. It will randomly change inputs, if a given machine goes to sleep, powers off or on, er, WTF like.

2. The mouse tracking and speed it be directly interfered with. I had to plug the mouse into USB3.

3. When you do switch an input you either loose mouse control entirely or worse the mouse stays on the previous input.

4. On one of my inputs I was getting video signal corruption.

5. Only a full power reset fixes the no-mouse input issue.

I am currently in conversation with the seller & manufacturer to see if they can help, otherwise its going back to amazon for a full refund.
