- Reviewed in the United States on April 16, 2026Format: KindleVerified PurchaseDoesn’t matter how old the reader is, this is a most enjoyable story at any age. Granted, there is a bit of confusing information, but just roll with it, as all will become clear before the end. It IS science fiction, after all. Looking forward to the next one, Mr. Pyles.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 9, 2026Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis book starts off okay. Kids wake up from stasis, the parents don't. Kids have to fix things, kid gets a cool pet alien dog. And then it gets weird. Like, super crazy weird. Like, Jerry Pournelle would be proud, kind of weird. I was not prepared for the weird and it caught me by surprise. It's fun, though.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 23, 2026Format: PaperbackRegardless of age, this book is a fun read. It's a sci-fi adventure story. I appreciated that most of the science in it feels plausible and makes some intelligent choices in the face of difficult problems such as terraforming. It's an entertaining, easy read and, most importantly, enjoyable. There are some twists and turns but in the end everything gets answered. The artwork inside is very well done. Overall it was, as I said, enjoyable and that's exactly what this kind of book is supposed to be.
