About the author

Diane Alber has had a passion for art since she held her first crayon at age two, which inspired her to subsequently earn a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts from Arizona State University. She is a wife and a mother of two young energetic children who love books. She became inspired to start writing and illustrating books because she saw a need for a book that inspired art and creativity in children. She also hopes that this book encourages parents to be proud of their children's art work no matter what it looks like!

Great Conversation Starter for Kids!
Reviewed in the United States on September 10, 2025The A Little SPOT 101 Get to Know Me Conversation Cards are such a fun and easy way to build connections with kids. The questions are thoughtful yet simple, making it easy for children to open up and share more about themselves. I love how versatile the cards are—you can use them at home during family time, in the classroom, or even in counseling sessions.
They’re also small and portable, which makes them perfect to take anywhere for a quick activity. The prompts spark meaningful conversations and help kids feel seen and heard. I highly recommend these cards for parents, teachers, and professionals looking for a playful but powerful tool to strengthen relationships with kids.

Get to know each other
Reviewed in the United States on November 30, 2025I took this to a game nice for the kids. They honestly had fun and got to know each other better. Great ice breaker for kids who dont know each other well, getting to know family better, and helping kiddos get along and find common ground. Standard size.

Great for social work either way kids
Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2025As a School Social Worker, I use these every day. They are fantastic. All the questions are great. I usually put them face down and like kids just pick random ones for my lunch Bunch grooves and then for my specific groups when I have a topic I will pick out for example the red ones if we’re doing anger and then the kids can pick out the different questions and answer them. It’s just a great easy icebreaker.

A Great Way to Get Students Talking and Sharing with One Another!
Reviewed in the United States on March 15, 2025My 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders absolutely loved these! I used them at stations students walked through in groups the first day of school. It was the perfect “get to know each other” activity. As I walked around watching and listening to their conversations, I noticed that some of the questions resulted in powerful conversations, even for my more timid and shy students. Other questions were fun and sometimes silly, which they loved! It really was a great start to the school year!

Great no prep warm up or time filler
Reviewed in the United States on July 21, 2025I love having these for tutoring and for small groups, there are great warm up and on occasion time fillers. Sometimes, I left students pick the card and share out as a whole group, and other times I pick the card and the kids share with each other. It’s nice to have without having to prep anything except get the cards out. These are small enough to just keep in my cart or supplies bag to use anytime. If you have a classroom, these are small enough to just have in or on your desk. There are lots of classroom activities to use with these, we just have to be creative with them.
