- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 October 2020Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseThere have been many books of this kind I've gone through. Not just about travel writing but about writing in all its forms: screenwriting, short stories, fiction writing etc. This is by far the best of all those books I've read. It is exceptionally well researched, well formatted and structured, interesting to read, and most of all informative without pandering. It's a great read just for the quotes and interviews with famous writers before you even consider all the information for how to become a writer yourself. I really enjoyed the breakdown between blogging, article writing, and writing travel books. As I'm drifting between the 3 of those it was useful to have them more defined. It's practical in that the book offers business advice and not just writing tips. There's information on how to position your articles, how to pitch them, how to find a literary agent, how to grow a travel blog, etc. Excellent book all in all, I only wish there were more like this. 5*

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 October 2019Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseA very well written and useful book. It is a classic on its own right. It provides really positive examples of good travel writing with clear little tasks for the budding writer . It manages to help the novice and the expert .
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 November 2019Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseAbsolutely great book! One of the best I ve read on the topic so far. Very informative and easy to read with practical writing excercises.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 April 2019Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseThis book has a great conversational style and reading it is a real pleasure. It works on many levels: a great read, like an old friend chatting to you; teaching you the art; demonstration by example, of how to do it right.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 April 2019Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseI've always written and sketched in notebooks during my daily travels and holidays, as a way to document my experiences. I've mainly done it for personal use but sometimes shared it with friends, but I wanted to do it in a more organised and thoughtful way.
I have had this book for under a month. It has given me a huge push to reconsider how and why I have been writing. I'm definitely more inspired and hopefully I'm raising my game. Great book.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 August 2019Format: PaperbackI had planned just to dip into the Travel Writer's Way but I have read it from cover to cover and am already going back over favourite bits. It is marvellous, full of information, support and inspiration. Brilliantly conceived and executed, it will be my go-to volume of help and advice for years to come.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 August 2020Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseNever judge a book by its cover. Very disappointing book - lovely cover. I have visited the same places as were in the book and I just did not feel the author did the locations justice

Martin KlammerReviewed in the United States on 20 April 20265.0 out of 5 stars Effective approach
Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseExcellent and varied approach to travel writing with exercises, examples, and interviews with successful travel writers. My colleague and I are using it for a course on travel writing. A handsome, colorful book, too.
N. L. DavisReviewed in the United States on 18 November 20252.0 out of 5 stars Not formatted for Kindle
Format: Kindle EditionVerified PurchaseI purchased the Kindle version of this book. However, I cannot read it on my Kindle as the book pages have been scanned or saved as images and not as an Epub or Kindle formatted book. As a result, you cannot change the orientation to portrait, it stays in landscape. The text size will not change, and it is impossible to read. I have no idea about the content of this book for this reason. If you are interested in purchasing and reading this book, I would suggest you get the paper copy.
Celine LBReviewed in the United States on 16 June 20223.0 out of 5 stars Not a Kindle book
Format: Kindle EditionVerified PurchaseThe content of this book is excellent and I would highly encourage anyone to order the paper version.
On the technical side, however, it's a huge disappointment: pages are recorded as images.
For one, this makes it impossible to highlight important content or to take notes. As a result, I have had to copy entire paragraphs by hand so that I could work on them.
Secondly, I can not read this book on my Kindle. Maybe my Kindle version is too old, but the text displays as one long, never ending sentence.
I can read the text on the online platform, but this is not what I was going for. I wanted to have the book available on a small device that I could take with me on my travels.
I will most likely return the electronic version to reorder the paper version.
