This lamp was perfect for my needs. It is not a budget light, but I guess you get what you pay for. ☺️. The lamp is bright, very bright. The gooseneck is quite heavy and holds the lamp pretty firmly in place. The finish on the lamp is very nice, brushed steel, smooth as silk. The lighting is just so good. I am a calligrapher, so excellent lighting is a “must” for me. Prior to this lamp, I actually had 3 small lamps on my desk to provide the light I needed and to eliminate shadows from my “writing hand”. This light absolutely floods my entire desktop with awesome white light, and is twice as effective as all of the desk lamps I was using. The clamp design allows me to keep my desktop clean and free of clutter. My only nitpick about this light is the switch…it’s location as well as the type of switch it is (a stiff “push” switch that is not convenient to access, and its location has a tendency to change the “placement” of the lamp because it is on a “gooseneck” setup). Even so, I would buy this light again, as this small aggravation is not a deal-breaker at this point. My worry is that the switch will fail at some point, and this does not appear to be a switch that can be replaced. My other worry is that the gooseneck will lose its “holding power” over time, and the lamp may start to “droop” from the weight of the LED unit on the end of it. It does “stay in place” as of now, but it does seem to struggle a bit with the weight, and the lamp is, after all, brand new…if the rigidity/holding power of the gooseneck degrades, that will be a problem. But as of now, it is sufficient, and the switch issue is really not a problem as of now…so I’ll go with 5 stars. (I don’t feel right about shaving off stars for “what might happen”.) 😁. As of now, it is a great lamp that exceeds my expectations.

Great light for drawing landscape plans. It’s very bright and allows me to see the true hues of the pens and pencils I’m coloring with.

The light spreads well and casts soft shadows. Installation was easy, and it looks sleek in my minimal studio setup.

Unfortunately, it started hurting my eyes almost immediately after turning it on.

I checked for flickering using my phone’s camera and didn’t detect any, so that doesn’t seem to be the cause.

It’s possible that the 6000K color temperature was simply too intense for me.

I didn’t initially make the connection between my eye strain and this lamp, so I missed the return window.

I’m writing this in hopes that it might help others like me—so you can consider this factor carefully before deciding to keep it. :)

I am very sad to throw this near $200 lamp away... :(

I use this light on my easel to get proper daylight and true colors in my paintings. Very sturdy, easy to assemble. Well worth the price.

I’m a live event artist and this is the best artist light I have ever owned. I bought two and I use one when I travel and one in my studio. It’s so easy to clamp onto my easel or use the other attachment for a table. The light is as good as daytime sunlight. Love this product!

Very well made, easy to assemble. You can attach to your easel or table. Light is bright and the ‘shade’ rotates to adjust the light angle.

The varied light value that you can get works really well it’s long enough that it covers my paint surface evenly and I don’t seem to get a glare. Bravo.

This lamp is much better made and designed than I expected. The light distribution is surprisingly good. It's built very solidly. The clamps are well designed and solidly built, both the easel clamp and the flat surface clamp.

My only complaint is a significant one, however: The power supply makes a constant high pitch sound that is absolutely too bothersome to just tune out - and I'm not even the one using the lamp. Wife is the painter and hates the noise as well, but it bothers me if I'm anywhere near. We both put in earbuds when it's plugged in. It's not at all painfully loud but it's intrusive like tinnitus.

Each time I think to try contacting the company it's after hours or the weekend so they haven't had a chance yet, but it's worth mentioning regardless because it's a major flaw - at least with this specific unit. I will update this after I reach out and hear back. If I have not updated it that means I have not contacted them, not that they haven't addressed it. (Wife has been unable to paint much recently so I might forget for a time).

In short, it's a 100% recommendation if you can't hear high pitches or always wear headphones when painting, and can't yet say otherwise.

This is an excellent light for an artist easel & will be great to be able to paint at night & see the colours clearly. I especially like the 3 light settings, so I am really glad that I found it. It comes with two attachments- one for an easel & one for a desk. One not so good feature - The easel clamp did not work on my easel as I have a large easel and the clamp would not tighten at all. The plastic nuts at the back of the clamp are too wide and too close to the wood to be able to turn and tighten. I managed to use the desk clamp to set it up, so that I could still use the lamp, & it is in a really good position to paint. However it is not ideal as I cannot use the top part of the my easel to hold my canvas firmly in place as the clamp is in the way. I plan to go and get the right part that will work with the easel clamp so that I can install it properly. But for now it works great.

I use it for coloured pencil art. Has made a huge difference

Awesome light. Attached to my easel easily and stays put. It is made out of solid materials and be adjusted to any direction. It also came with a table clamp which I haven't used but looks just as solid.
