He ask her to tell him when she is ready because he wants to marry her. Two years later Georgie wants Jamie to marry her. Love the maturity of Jamie.

    Bad Blood is a 2019 RITA Award nominee, one of the only nominees written by an author of color.

    A fun novella, but with some plot inconsistencies. Lots of talk about an off the page encounter of the two main characters at a sex club that never panned out in the story. There was a lot of talk about wild sex and the female lead wanting to experiment but not as much on page action as I'd hoped based on the conversations between the leads. Georgie's older brother King obviously had his own story in this series, which I didn't read, but he was such a stereotypical older-brother interfering character.

    That said, for a novella the world felt completely built and I was able to sink into the emotions. I enjoyed it and would certainly read more of the author's work!

    This book was just okay for me. It's a light, fun read. I knocked the whole thing out in a couple of hours.

    My main issue is that the heroine left me flat. She's 23, filthy rich, and extremely sheltered. She has a greeting card business (which I can only imagine has to be bankrolled by Daddy) but lives at home, has to call her boyfriend for help when her car breaks down, and doesn't even know how to pop the hood of her car by herself. The only moment of strength or independence you see is SPOILER ALERT when she finds out her fiancee is marrying her for her money, and she runs from the wedding...to hide in the pantry in her palatial manse, like a 4-year-old. 🙄

    Her main personality traits are that she's beautiful, has a smart mouth, and apparently is in possession of multiple facial expressions, which...okay? The fact that a 29-year-old man with a rags-to-riches backstory was into this fluffy little girl was disappointing.

    Not the way to start a marriage but it is a darn good way to end a relationship. Georgina was in a pickle but I guess her instincts and sweaty palms worked in her favor. Alex and his dad both were silly. Never discuss things like that with the door unlocked. Oh well, you reep what you sew.

    In the other hand James and Georgina were just a cute mix of past and present feelings. All is fair but again an unlocked door can make a lot of difference.

    Sexy, growth, and support was the potion to a wonderful whirlwind friendship and romance. Love notes included.

    Jamie has been fighting his attraction to Georgie for years. He doesn’t believe he is good enough.

    Both of them need to work through issues with confidence and finding peace in their lives before coming together.
