    Perfect tool to teach your kids how to usekitchen tool. Perfect finger protector. The good way to teach your kid isn't constantly repeating to wear the finger protector to use it, no. Let them chop a carrot with the real very sharp knive, slice their thumb (just a little bit), they start to cry asking to remove the cut, take their finger and treat them to cut them all. After that, they use the finger protector even for eating their piece of bread or listening television. A win for all !!!

    bought this for my daughter who was 8 at the time to help in the kitchen. initially she wasn't a fan of the finger hole and her hand is big enough to hold a knife the "standard" way however she's become accustomed to the gripe style and loves using this knife. the "sharpness" isn't enough to dice through vegetables efficiently but it is sharp enough to slice and cut fruits and veggies. the finger guards is a great addition to practice safety.
    Understanding this product is like a bike with training wheels, it's not here to make kids a knife pro in the kitchen but rather to practice good safe habits until they are ready to move up to the real thing. A little pricey for what it is but the confidence it gives my child in the kitchen makes it worth it. We've hand washed it and ran it through the dishwasher with no issues so it holds up well.

    I do wish there was a bit more weight to it for "chopping" through thicker items but overall a great knife for aspiring chefs in the kitchen.
