Naomi Fried, PhD, is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Ambit Health Ventures.

Previously, Naomi was the founder and CEO of Health Innovation Strategies, a boutique advisory firm that works with large healthcare organizations on their innovation programs and digital-health strategy. Prior to that, Naomi was the first VP of Innovation and External Partnerships at Biogen, where she developed the firm’s “innovation beyond the molecule strategy.” Naomi has also served as the first Chief Innovation Officer at Boston Children's Hospital, where she built and led the Innovation Acceleration Program to promote digital health and clinical innovation, and as the first VP of Innovation and Advanced Technology at Kaiser Permanente, where she led efforts to identify and assess new and emerging health care technology.

Naomi has served on the Board of Directors of the American Telemedicine Association and was a member of the Governor of Massachusetts’ Innovation Council. She received her PhD in Materials Science from MIT and her B.S. in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley.

Sam Goldberger MD, MBA is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Ambit Health Ventures.

Sam practiced as an ophthalmologist and ophthalmic facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon for 24 years in Southern California. In addition to managing a successful surgical practice, Sam is the author of numerous scientific papers and served as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine and at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

After earning his MBA as a Sloan Fellow at MIT in 2016, Sam was recruited by a private equity firm to be CEO of their ophthalmology division. Sam led a very large and successful ophthalmology practice roll up. In 2018, he founded and led his own healthcare and life-science investing firm, Rangol Partners.

Sam is board certified by the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He earned a B.S. in Biology from MIT, a Medical Degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and an MBA from MIT Sloan.
