Hiya Friends!
When I moved to a small apartment from a family-sized home last year, I got rid of a lot of stuff. Then I moved again recycled even more, following the Marie Kondo wisdom—if it doesn’t spark joy, get rid of it. But as a professional cook who works from home and spends at least half my time within these walls, I want my possessions to be functional, durable, and timeless (or stylish at the least.) So now every time I purchase something for my kitchen or my home, I choose wisely.
Here are a few of my favorite things for you to consider if you are holiday shopping for others or feel like treating yourself. Most of these items are linked to my new ShopMy page, which allows you to shop my favorite brands while providing me with a small affiliate fee if you purchase anything using my link. (The prices of the items for you remain the same.)
Take note: One of the few brands I adore that is not on ShopMy is my beloved Nama-the maker of my juicer and plant-based milk maker. If you shop the site, don’t forget to enter code HAAS10 at checkout, OK? You’ll save 10% off your first purchase.
Okay, little drummer boy…hit it!
Hestan 5.5 qt. Chef’s Pan- I have declared this “the one item I would take with me if my house was burning down.” (Obviously, my children and pictures would come first, but my most precious jewelry was stolen a decade ago, so now cookware has my heart.) Use this pan once and you’ll understand. And don’t forget to buy a bottle of the cleaner that comes with it. You’re welcome.
Hudson Grace Dinnerware, Napkins, candles, and more! I am head over heels for this brand founded by my friend and tastemaker Monelle Totah. Although they have traditionally focused on kitchen and entertaining pieces, they are expanding their assortment into the rest of the home and it is going to be FABULOUS. My favorite hostess gifts? The sassy cocktail napkins, one of their signature candles, or a set of four of their stunning linen napkins if you really want to make a splash.
Breville Control Grip Stick Blender-I am Breville obsessed and I own all of the products featured on my ShopMy page, but this stick blender is perfect for blending soups in their pot, making aioli, whipping cream, and pureeing vegetables and fruits.
Printfresh Pajamas-These pajamas have become a staple in my home, and I tend to put them on the second I get home. The patterns are cheerful and cheeky, and I always get compliments on them. I bought the mulled cider pattern for the holidays and I would wear them to a holiday party if allowed.
Le Creuset 5.5 qt. Round Dutch Oven- I treasure every piece of Le Creuset I’ve collected over the years, and I love that you can pick a colorway to collect over time. I’ve always loved their Dutch ovens, but I also love their skillets and grill pans for indoor cooking.
J. Crew Classic Crewneck Cashmere Sweater-at $148, they aren’t cheap, but the color selection is incredible and I wear these so often, I get my money’s worth. I love my Kelly Green, bright yellow, cerulean blue, and navy. And you know all of my other staples like t-shirts and denim come from J. Crew and its sister company Madewell.
Kitchen Aid 4.5 qt. Stand Mixer-J’adore. I’ve had mine forever and will keep it forever. Make a statement and choose a color that makes you smile.
Midi Supplements -Midi found me right as I went looking for them! A female-focused healthcare company that focuses on women in midlife is just what the doctor ordered this year! I’ve started with their “Brain Focus,” fiber, and Creatine supplements. I can already feel a difference. Remember to use code AMANDAHAAS at checkout to save 10%
Nama M1 Plant-Based Milk Maker, Nama J2, and the Nama C2-These appliances have changed my life, allowing me to incorporate more plants into my diet during times of day that typically make it tricky.
Hedley & Bennett Chef’s Knife in Shiso Green; Aprons; Cooks Tools- I cannot say enough great stuff about this brand founded by the culinary world’s beloved Ellen Marie Bennett. Ellen revolutionized the apron market-you can find them on practically every chef and food personality on Earth-and now her cutlery and cooks’ tools are shaping the market as well. (She doesn’t use any black silicone in her tools, making them a much safer option for us!) And those knives in Shiso Green? I die.
Buture Cordless Vacuum-Do not sleep on this vacuum recommendation! I did all the research on the best lightweight, reasonably priced vacuums and this came up as the clear winner. It’s now one of my favorite things. I literally look forward to vacuuming.
New Balance Sneakers-I’m not really a chef clog kinda girl-they hurt my back-so sneakers are my jam when I cook. These New Balance take me from home to the hills of San Francisco. I wear them everywhere.
Staub Dutch Oven- I was introduced to Staub later in my culinary career, but their cast iron enamel Dutch ovens and braisers are spectacular. If you braise often, I think they’re the most stunning pieces to take from oven to table. And their whimsical, seasonal pieces like the pumpkin with lid is perfect for risotto, roasted vegetables, and more.
Not in the mood to give gifts this year? Consider a donation to No Kid Hungry and help provide food for one of the five children in our country who are food insecure.
I love you Friends, and appreciate your presence in my life from afar. Your love and support for my business and my well-being is real!

xx-Amanda
