What I'm Doing Now

This page was last updated on Sunday, 22 Sep 2024 at 15:25 whilst I wait for it to stop raining, so I can go for my Sunday afternoon walk.

My mind flicks forward an hour to the kick-off of Man City v Arsenal. My optimist outlook doesn't extend to this game - a loss for Arsenal is my prediction. 🥺

Morning Accountability

In Feb 2024 I started a morning accountability group for Freelancers. We meet every weekday morning at 8am on Zoom for 30 minutes and discuss the day ahead, our successes and failures of yesterday and generally have a good laugh to get us pumped for the day.

On the 9th September, My Sister and I launched a second group, this time at 9am. We had always planned to create another session time but didn’t expect it to take 7 months. Our Freelance Friends business, really feels like it’s starting to find momentum.

Health & Happiness

I’ve considered myself a casual running for most of my adult life, though in hindsight I ran far less often than I should have to consider myself a runner. At the start of this year I had the realisation that I don’t run as often as I should, simply because I don’t enjoy it all that much!

I also was failing to see the point in it as I wasn’t noticing any of the effects one might expect – overall better fitness, weight loss etc… Perhaps the combo of not enjoying something and not seeing the benefit is a good reason to knock it on the head. I am of course aware that some form of exercise is important, so I switched to strength training. I’ve always hated the idea of the gym, and never considered the idea of working out at home. But that all changed this year and I’ve been hitting 3+ workouts a week for over 6 months now and seeing noticeable (positive) changes to my body.
