big "Alias" pic/mediaspam -- and it's awesome
So,
passionflows did a big picspam of her top 3 (OF ALL TIME!) OTPs, and I thought I'd maybe do the same, but I had a little bit of trouble narrowing down my three. Except I know that I totally love Jack Bristow/Irina Derevko, so. "Alias" picspam/mediaspam, because they are the awesome.
Once upon a time, Jonathon Donahue Bristow was married to a beautiful English teacher named Laura, and they had a daughter named Sydney, and they were happy. And for a while, it was real. And then Laura was really a KGB agent named Irina Derevko, and she faked her death and left her family, only to come back 20 years later and try to kill them both. But only for a minute, until she was good again. Of course, by then she was also really, really in prison.
Their first meeting in 20 years:

Irina: "I've had a picture of your face in my mind for twenty years. I remember a loving husband. A generous man. A patriot. I may have been under orders to fabricate a life with you, but there were times when the illusion of our marriage was as powerful for me as it was for you. Especially when Sydney was born. Looking at you now, I see that illusion has finally gone."
Jack: "I want to make something very clear to you. There are people here who believe you can repay the debt you owe this country through your continued cooperation. I am not one of them. And if Sydney, in any way, becomes victim to your end game, I will kill you. She's spent most of her life believing you were dead. She'll get used to it again. No matter what bond you try to forge with her."
And then they went on a mission to Kashmir, and there was a hot scene with them staring each other down while he threatened to blow her head off. It's a thing with them apparently. Witness:

And then he found out what he'd thought all along wasn't really so true, and that she maybe wasn't the worst person in the world after all, and he trusted her for a bit. And they went on a mission to get their daughter out of this life (because as much as they might (maybe?) love each other, they love Sydney for sure) and had the first honest conversation in twenty years:
(From ep 2.17, "A Dark Turn.")
And, of course, that lead to the sexing (in the middle of an impromptu hotel-room surgery, obvs):

Which lead to even more betrayals, like him slipping a tracking device on her while they were, you know...screwing, and her escaping CIA custody and then flinging herself off a building and going into hiding for two seasons. During which time Jack, you know...killed her. Again, after a little bit of dancing.
Dancing:

Killing:

Of course, it wasn't the real Irina (duh, this is "Alias"), and she came back and they saved the world and all was good and they were happy and that's how it ended. See?
Happy (for Jack, that's totally happy):

Happy!:

The end.
(Because that's totally how it ended. Not a season later, completely wrong and out of character. Not like this:

Not dead. Not that way at all. IT ENDED HAPPY!)
Anyway, here's a great video by
dollsome that's fantastic, with a lot of the subtlety that the show was so fabulous at, and it's awesome. And that's most of their story. Except for that time that Jack was dying and thought Sydney was Irina and there was a weirdly incestuous moment where he thought his daughter was his wife, and it was icky and sweet at the same time. And that time she came back to life and totally socked him. And that other time she had an illegitimate child with his best friend/arch nemesis, and he didn't know if Sydney was his. But that's all water under the bridge, right? BECAUSE IT ENDED HAPPY!
Anyway. Video:
Up next: CJ Cregg and Toby Ziegler! And then all bets are off!
