I love how you capture the urgency of creating and the way both joy and pain demand to be expressed. Your words reminded me that creation connects us and leaves a mark on others, even in small ways.
I would love to hear what moments in your own life you felt compelled to capture.
Thanks so much for reading. Pondering your note - I think moments of joy inspire me to write and moments of pain inspire me to paint. I had never thought of that before, so I really appreciate your comments encouraging that!
Lovely, Allison, simply lovely. And heartfelt for me as I am a creative and it’s part of who I am. I create because I *have to.* Please, please keep writing and share more of your work!
That was fantastic. I know how nerve-wracking it can be sharing a poem for the first time (I have been doing it for a few months now and feel it every single time), but you really nailed that and I'd love to read more.
It takes extra courage to share a poem publicly, being such a raw shard of ourselves. Congratulations on your first! I felt the lines about the brevity of life and refusing to pass through it without leaving a mark on others. 🫶🏼
This put an ache in me, and I loved every line, but especially:
"I create because something in me
refuses to pass through this life
without leaving a mark on yours."
I don't believe there's a creator out there who wouldn't identify with those lines.
I love hearing that, Josie. Thank you. 🖤
Well done.
Thank you! :) I appreciate you taking the time to read it.
I feel your pulse.
mine is catharsis. I have to write it, even if no one sees it. nice. thanks.
it’s just for you… and sometimes that’s all it needs to be. :) thanks for reading
This walked straight into my heart .. beautiful 🧡

Oh, we would love more of the same.

That’s a beautiful realization.
It’s like each emotion finds its own language through you joy choosing words, pain choosing color.
There’s something really powerful in noticing that pattern… it gives you a deeper way to understand your own creative rhythm.

It really is part of who we are. Thank you for reading and for sharing your perspective. I appreciate you.

FELT.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate this. 🖤
This hit me right in my gut! I always tell people, I create because I want to…but mostly because I have to. ❤️🔥
Yes!! We are pulled into it, in many ways. Thank you for sharing how this impacted you. 🖤
The last four lines though....😭🩷 So beautiful. Thank you so much for being brave and sharing. I hope you post more of your poems!!
Thank you so much!! 🤍😊

Thank you, Gary. I’m so glad this landed with you and gave you some feels. I appreciate you. Thanks for being here. 🙂🖤
First public poem? This both sparkles and devastates at once.
I often talk about how we writers are here to fight against entropy in every way we can, and you described that specific feeling eloquently.
Loved it.
😊 Thank you for such a thoughtful perspective on my words. I appreciate you. 🖤
