Busy day. All kinds of class prep for Halloween tomorrow and more Fiddler stuff. We had our second Choir practice today for the Fiddler Chorus and it was encouraging to see that we still had about a hundred students come back again after last week. Not only were they there, but they were enthusiastic, sang along with the recordings we played them without prompting, listened well during warm-up exercises and sang beautifully when we began the actual practice. They seem really really keen, which makes me as Choir Director really really happy.
More good news yesterday. John's been at a video warehouse for the last few months working terrible hours- three days on and three days off, working 7 at night to 7 in the morning. Then, suddenly, his entire shift was laid-off this week, being told that the busy season was over and they weren't needed. Luckily, John had made enough of an impression that the supervisor made sure he was re-located to another department and another shift. So he's now working 8 to 4:30 Monday to Friday and we are both much happier :).
