Good News/ Bad News
The good news is that I finished my report cards yesterday to hand them into the principal by today's deadline. Yay.
The bad news is that I've been too sick since Wednesday night to actually get in to school to hand them in to my principal :-/.
You see, they're still in the school board computer system (I had planned to print them out today), so I'd have to go to school to either transfer the reports onto a disc or print them out.
But I woke up this morning with a terrible sore throat and worse headache, so I decided to stay home and cancel Urban Tapestry practice and burrow into bed for the day. I could hand in my report cards on Friday. Except now it's Thursday night and I feel even worse, so it looks like I won't be handing in report cards tomorrow, either.
So much for having them done on time :-/. Anyway, I'm going to send a short note to my principal tomorrow when John runs in my lesson plan for my supply teacher. Reports don't go home until next Wednesday, so if I give her the reports on Monday there is still time to get them signed and correct any mistakes. Still, it kills you when you work so hard to get them done on-time and you -can't- hand them in.
Ah, well. I'm slightly comforted that I'm sick now. At least I was smart enough to wait until after reports were done as well as being sick early enough that my voice will be recovered before parent-teacher interviews a week from tonight and The Gathering in four weeks. Being that I hadn't had my fall cold yet I was getting nervous of what the odds were of it actually happening at the worst possible time in mid-December.
So, I guess being sick right now is both bad news and good news. And I can curl up for the weekend with my endless documentaries on the extended "Two Towers" DVD, so life isn't all bad.
