Birthday Art Surprises and a QUESTION
Love this Hobbit art Deb painted on the front of my birthday card!!! So cute! I plan to frame it.
Word reached Deb, Jodi and I that
legoline, a filk friend of ours in Germany, was celebrating her 30th birthday just around the time of FilkContinental. Silke asked us to send birthday messages in secret to go in a scrapbook to be given to legoline at the con. I was happy to do that, but being it was summer and I had itchy cross-stitching fingers the thought occurred to me that legoline had expressed a love of L.M. Montgomery and Green Gables and because one can never have too much Canadian content in their life, I went looking for a small pattern to stitch up for her and found the quote in the photo below (the date is Montgomery's birthdate). While stitching it I decided to make it into a small pillow, and being that legoline has always worn her heart on her sleeve when it comes to her fannish loves in her journal :), I chose one at random and stitched up a TARDIS. And chose a Ninth Doctor quote just because I will always love the Ninth Doctor :).
(Aside: Though if I was stitching a pillow forlegoline today I would definitely go looking for a Captain America shield :).)

And FilkContinental was last weekend and lj user="legoline"> was given a TARDIS cake so how timely was my choice of fandoms on the pillow and she liked the pillow and it was fun and satifying to stitch 'cause I love stitching geeky cross-stitch, so it was a win all around.
