Reports Finished!
Yay, my report cards are done and in on my principal's desk. Now I can focus on all the year-end admin type stuff and put some more focus on Urban Tapestry's music for ConCertino.
Still quite enamoured with my iPad and besides the official "smart cover" I bought for it the day it arrived in the mail I've also bought a cute bright red pouch for it that I found in a Canada Day display for $5.00. It has a white maple leaf on it and the word "eh!" in the maple leaf.
Working with Phil's "AutoSongbook" app to have a bunch of music ready to use at ConCertino. Still practising working with the timing on the scrolling function to make sure I can read the music properly on the iPad. Have transferred over most of my iTunes music to the iPad as well. I'm learning how to use Dropbox more efficiently since Deb, Jodi and I are using it more often to store music. Brooke recommended a great packing app which I will test-run when I go to Boston. Have become sadly addicted to a cute little game by Pixar called "Temple Run" using the characters from their upcoming "Brave" movie, which I can't wait to see. Little red-haired Celtic adventurer? Yeah, can't imagine why I identify with her :).
Speaking of young female adventurers, I'm watching an awesome anime right now called "Kino's Journey". Basically just a girl on a motorcycle wandering from new country to new country, but it's beautiful and philosophical, sometimes inspiring, sometimes dark, with a lovely pace. Sadly, only the first of thirteen Japanese novels that it's based on has been translated into English, from what I can tell. Here's a fun fact for filkers, though- I though it was very cool when I realized the English translation of the first volume of "Kino No Tabi" was adapted by Maya Bohnhoff! I will have to track it down.
It's supposed to get scorching hot in the Greater Toronto area this week. There is no air-conditioning in my classroom. Joy. We just have to ride it out nine more days...
