50th Birthday Scrapbook
For Deb's 50th birthday Jodi and I decided to prepare a 50th anniversary photo scrapbook with photos from as many of Deb's filk friends as we could reach in an eight week timeframe (Not an easy task, as we had to avoid social networks where Deb reigns supreme and my e-address book skills are ragged at best! Which is to say I know I missed some people totally unintentionally :-/.)
Anyway we asked people to take a digital photo of themselves holding a sign with a birthday message for Deb and then send the photo to me. It was a huge success, as photos came in from Germany and England, Canada and the US, ConCertino to Consonance.
Even though Deb's birthday was at the end of March, due to personal considerations and travel plans we didn't have a chance to give her the finished scrapbook until yesterday.
It was really, really worth it, though, and she loved the scrapbook and Jodi and I are so pleased the project went so well :).
When she first realized what was in the scrapbook she was quite emotional :).
But from there she laughed and was boggled and amazed. The photos people sent really were touching and funny and creative.

Definitely a fun surprise and a satisfying evening :).
