Star Wars Nostalgia and a QUESTION

The one thing that I ran across that did make my heart skip a beat with nostalgia was a bag with my old Star Wars collection. There were a few things from 1977 when Star Wars first came out, but the majority of it was from 1980 when the release of "Empire" pushed me into full-blown Star Wars obsession for a short time.

(Photo: My favorite piece in the collection- a Star Wars button from the summer of 1977. I'm definitely keeping this one.)

Most of the rest of the collection are photo and poster magasines from the summers that "Empire and "Jedi" came out.

Star Wars magasines

I'm pretty sure they aren't worth anything as they weren't squirreled away in hermetically-sealed plastic bags and never breathed on. They definitely have signs of having been loved by a 19-year-old fangirl, though they're in pretty good shape. Still John is going to take them away to check eBay and collector sites to be sure.

Star Wars bubble gum cards

Man, I sure do remember collecting these bubble gum cards in the summer of 1980. I think it was the one and only time I collected bubble gum cards. Again, likely worth nothing due to *gasp* actually opening the packages, but if that's the case maybe I'll make them into a mural to put on the wall or something.

QUESTION:

Did you ever collect bubble gum cards? What type?

QUESTION:

Do you have any old Star Wars collectables about? What kind of stuff do you have?

I don't have a lot, beyond this old collection and some paperback tie-in novels, though I do have a Qui-Gon Jinn action figure standing on the shelf beside me here. Down in the basement where John keeps his stuff is another story. He has assorted SW action figures, model spaceships he's built, a movie poster on the wall and a working light saber :).
