Dreamcoats
The kids never did have a chance to go see "Joseph" on stage due to the TWO snow days, but we did watch the Donny Osmond version of the show on video last week. And the kids could all sing along to the songs and they painted these great-looking dreamcoats, so I deem this short media/drama/music/art unit a success.

This last photo is a shot of my classroom door right now. Scholastic Books put out a poster book challenge a few weeks back telling classes that if they can read a hundred books by the end of April and submit the result to their website Scholastic will give 100 books to a needy school in that class' name and the class will get a certificate. So as you can see from this photo, when a student finishes a book they have to fill in the short form, tape it to the door and then colour and initial a book on the poster. The kids are really into it. I've encouraged them all to have at least one book read to add to the poster by the end of the March Break this week so the poster may be close to done by the end of March.
