The Universe Speaks
Hey! I hope everyone who's at Consonance (one of the two filkcons in California) is having a great time this weekend! I still have great memories of my one trip to Consonance.
So, yeah, after our theatre trip got cancelled twice due to Snow Days (and yet, as I type this, it's raining outside- weirdest winter ever) it's not surprising that the theatre company chose just to cancel our performance and refund our money.
A common phrase over the last few days was "Do you think the universe is trying to tell us something?".
So here's my favorite small example today of the universe speaking.
John and I went to Tim Hortons after school today before we went grocery shopping. We pretty much always go to Tims before a major grocery shopping. Never pays to shop hungry, right? Anyway, it's that favorite time of the year in Canadians' Tim Hortons calendar- it's Roll Up The Rim time! That's when you can roll up the rim on your coffee cup and win anything from cars to TVs to camping gear to food prizes.
So we each got a coffee and were sitting talking and at an animated moment in the discussion I swept my arm around and- whoosh!- tipped my coffee over everywhere. It ended up all over me and the table and the floor with everyone in the restaurant staring at me, so, yeah, good times. After a half-futile attempt to clean off my jeans I turned back forlornly to the one gulp of coffee left in the cup. Sigh, no coffee for me.
So I finished the cup off and rolled up the rim. And the rim read "Win! Free Coffee!".
Thanks, universe :).
