Sushi and High Tea
Yay, Beckett Gladney has given us permission to show the world the CD cover she has created for Urban Tapestry's new live CD, "Sushi and High Tea". Debbie has a picture of the cover posted in her journal here: http://www.electricpenguin.com/blatherings/archives/001936.html#001936
That's my cat, Nova, sitting so smugly on the table!
I also think it's great that Debbie's sister, Ruth Ohi, has drawn pictures for the liner notes of the CD. Since Ruth drew the cover of our first album, "Castles and Skyscrapers" and Beckett painted the cover of our second album, "Myths and Urban Legends", it's wonderful that both their artwork is represented on our third album.
"Sushi and High Tea" will debut for sale at the Science Fiction WorldCon in Toronto at the end of August. All tracks on the CD were recorded live during concerts we did during filk conventions in California (thus, the "sushi") and England (thus, the "high tea"). I love all the little souvenirs Beck has scattered on the table on the cover- the photos and cakes and tea from England, the sushi and Ghiradelli chocolate from California. It brings back such fabulous memories, which maybe I'll talk about more in a future entry.
Thank you so much, Beckett and Ruth, for your wonderful art!
