Have fun at FilkContinental!
Ever since 2005 when Urban Tapestry was lucky enough to be the Guest of Honour at FilkContinental, the filkcon in Germany, I always get somewhat wistful at this time of year when I see everyone running about and preparing for the con. FilkContinental was so much fun, utterly unique as a convention experience. It's literally the furthest I have ever been from home, my first and so far only trip to Continental Europe. The con setting is breath-taking, set in a castle on a hill.
And you all have such wonderful Canadian guests this year! You are SO LUCKY to be getting the chance to hear Dave Clement, Tom Jeffers and Heather Dale. If you've met them, you know how wonderful they are. If you haven't, you are in for an amazing treat. Treat them well :). I can't wait to hear their stories when they get home.
And I'll look forward to hearing everyone's stories about the con and see all the photos, too! One of the major bonuses of FilkContinental for me was hooking up with so many wonderful German filkers here in LiveJournal after my trip to the con. I really enjoy keeping up with your filk events and your lives and you all brighten my day.

With a bunch of German friends at the end of the con! Hey, most of you are still on my LJ friend list :).

Summer and Fall. It's so cool that we've been able to hang out and sing with Eva and Crystal at GaFilk since this photo was taken!

Fire breathing in the castle courtyard at night! Just magical.

Katy and Steve in front of the castle before the con.

Christine, Ju, Deb and Jodi at Hessenpark in Frankfurt.
You can find the rest of the photos of FilkContinental here and here. You can find the photos of my time in Frankfurt and Hamburg here and here.
Terrific memories. Have a great time at the con, everyone!
