I want to send a huge THANK YOU to John and Joanne Hall for their wonderful hospitality in having us down to Rochester for a house concert on the weekend. We had a terrific restful time and I feel much refreshed as I launch into a teacher evaluation period over the next few weeks. THANK YOU, too, to our friend Walter, who drove us to Rochester and back and to malls and museums and restaurants and other cool places. I may write in more detail later, but for now maybe I'll just put up a handful of representative photos.

DA bag

I am more geekily pleased with this "Dumbledore's Army" bag than I should be willing to admit :). Walter gave it to me for my birthday at the beginning of our trip. I love it! Even the young, hip salesclerks at my first ever "Hot Topic" store in Buffalo told me it was "cool" :). I have it at school today, Walter!

Deb in book room

John and Joanne have the most amazing book room! It is lined on every side, from floor to ceiling, every nook and cranny, with books. I covet it so much. Deb was practising penny whistle in there before our Saturday night concert.

The "Butterfly House" was one of the highlights of our trip to the "Museum of Play". So cool to see them so close up and have them land on you! Jodi had fun communing with nature here, too.

Deb and John

Open filking with Debbie and John on Saturday night.

Must go, more later! I have a girl who broke her leg on the weekend and I must go collect her in the elevator to bring her back up to our second-floor classroom!
