My Piano Space
Yay, I've set up a little piano nook for myself to inspire me to practice the keyboard this summer. I figure that the bulletin board makes it cheery and personal enough that it's a place where I'll want to spent time :).
Funny how the "free" keyboard I'm borrowing from school didn't stay free. Since it hasn't been used in ages I found I had to buy a) a power source, b) a keyboard stand and c) an adult keyboard instruction book to make the free keyboard useful. It rather reminds me of my first "free" digital camera that I got with teacher coupons from Scholastic, which only needed me to buy memory cards, batteries, a battery charger, a case, a better printer, etc., etc.
Also, my piano nook is exactly across the room on the opposite wall to my computer and it quickly became a pain to move the wooden chair I use from one spot to the other all the time so I broke down today and bought a comfy swivel chair with wheels that sends me easily sailing between one keyboard and the other.
Hmmm, free has gotten pricy.
The comfy chair will be nice, too, though, for watching videos on my computer moniter, like the second season of "Blake's 7" which I launched into tonight (yeah, I'm hooked on it and I now have all four seasons waiting to be seen).
But first of all I have to master "Jingle Bells" on the piano keyboard :).
