Dragon Boat Races

John and I are going to go down to Toronto's Dragon Boat Race Festival tomorrow on Centre Island. It's held every year at this time and we've never been. According to the bit of reading I've done I gather Dragon Boat Racing has become quite a popular sport and festivals of this kind are held in over 40 countries around the world. I also read these Dragon Boat Races are held on the same weekend because it's traditional to hold them on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month of the Chinese calendar. The festivals also involve entertainment, craft and information booths, food tents, etc..

Anyone here ever go to a Dragon Boat Festival before? Anyone ever -participate- in a Dragon Boat Race?
