Toronto Hike Update
Thank you so much for your ideas for places to hike near Queen's Park!
After looking over some maps and educational websites we've decided we're going to walk the classes south to Toronto City Hall and Nathan Phillips Square. There are some very nice resources on-line pointing out statues, works of art, war memorials, peace gardens, the Freedom Arches over the skating rink, etc. We'll take a walk around the first floor of City Hall and then out to look at a few landmarks in Nathan Phillips Sqaure.
For example, did you know that there is a piece of the Berlin Wall in one of the Freedom Arches over the Nathan Phillips Square skating rink? There's a sign that describes where it is at the base of one of the arches. I didn't know that!
