Veggie Burgers
I had my first veggie burger at Harvey's last week. I was surprised to discover it was good.
You see, as a burger person, I was always a bit skeptical of what a burger made of soy and vegetable matter would taste like :P. I avoided them for a long, long time. Jodi frequently eats them when UT goes out to restaurants and I think Deb has had them a few times, too. A teacher in the staff room was eating one last week and declared the veggie burger at Lick's is the best anywhere.
So, on a whim, when we were at Harvey's last week I decided to try a veggie burger. I was very surprised to discover how tasty they are. They have a texture much like a burger and once you add toppings it gives the same burger satisfaction. Now I'm curious to try other veggie burgers elsewhere. I had one at McDonald's tonight and it was OK, but I liked the Harvey's veggie burger better. I am going to try one at Lick's sometime soon.
So, give me your opinions. Do you like veggie burgers? Where does one go to get a good veggie burger? Are they really that much healthier than anything else you'd pick up at a fast food restaurant? Are they more low-cal than burgers, fish or chicken sandwiches? I plan to do some more experimenting this summer. It would be nice to have a healthy alternative at fast food restaurants rather than just salads.
Exercise log- Walked 6 miles wandering the trails at the Elora Gorge yesterday. Only put in 1 mile today. That takes me up to 83 miles on my Rivendell challenge.
