Updated HP shirt
I'm going to post a photo of the cross-stitch Hogwarts shirt I'm working on each time I finish a section. Here's the center "H" and the Gryffindor lion (I still have to stitch the round part of the scroll on the left side of the lion).
The shirt itself is black, though there is a piece of waste fabric put over the black right now for stitching purposes. The waste fabric threads will get pulled out once the shirt is done. The piece is working up much quicker than I thought it would. It's a lot of fun to stitch with nice bright colours. I'll be moving on to the Slytherin snake section next, as it is easier to do the stitching on the top first and work my way down to Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw.
Speaking of Harry Potter, I'm enjoying reading
deathly_cntdwn these days. Some HP fans discovered that if you read one chapter of Harry Potter a day, starting back on February 9th, that you'd be reading the last chapter of Book 6 the day before Book 7 comes out. A couple of reading communities like this have popped up, but I've chosen this one to follow. I'm not actually reading the chapters each day, though I do keep the appropriate book on my computer desk to look up things of interest, but I do read through the analysis posts other people are putting up (there's about 2-3 posts a day with discussion under them) and it is a fun review of the series as we move toward July.
Getting ready to go to a local Toronto filk at Phil and Jane's place in a couple of hours and we're going to be picking up Debbie on the way. Should go and get some music organized! I usually only take solo music to housefilks, but with Deb going this time I want to pack up some Urban Tapestry music, too. Looking forward to a fun day!
