Endlessly Moving
Well, due to the van problems we had on Friday and Saturday we are at least a day behind in getting our move over with. Yesterday was a hugely busy day. We brought four vanloads of stuff from the townhouse to the apartment. We're starting to see light at the end of the tunnel.
We need to wait here today until a plumber comes to look at making a few adjustments here (it's my March Break, which is why I'm home) and then we're heading back to the townhouse for what we hope will be the last hurrah. We have one more vanload of stuff to bring, a load of Goodwill to take away, bunches of garbage to sort and take care of and vacuuming and cleaning in the house. My hope is that we can have the final meeting with the landlady on Wednesday. Fingers crossed.
My apartment office is presently piled high with all the things we brought over from the townhouse yesterday. There's just one thin winding path that takes me to my computer here. Scary. As we wait for the plumber we're going to begin sorting through it today, putting together the bookshelves so we can start getting the books out of the pile. Getting rid of the zillion bags of books will be a huge improvement in itself.
We also lucked out at the grocery store yesterday in finding large plastic bins reduced to $5 each. We bought six and will probably go back today for another six. We figure a dozen bins stacked in this room will hold a lot of the stuff we don't have room for anywhere else right now. We're encouraged that between the closets and the bins we'll find a spot for everything and we won't have to pay for storage space. Yay. Of course, it helped a lot that we've gotten rid of at least a third of what we own to Goodwill or garbage in the last two months.
The end is in sight. We're encouraged.
Exercise log- Took a long 85 minute walk around my neighbourhood on Saturday. Must have run dozens of sets of steps loading and unloading moving stuff yesterday. Need to fit in four more hour walks this week to complete my walking challenge. Plan to get one of them in today. Once we get the last of the move done today I'm going to stop permitting myself eating junk food as a reward for working so hard :).
